17.01.2022 It was 4 weeks ago (at the beginning of this Covid crisis) when long lines of everyday people (including many of our regulars) started queueing outside our local Centrelink after losing their jobs and looking for some financial reprieve to look after their families At that time we werent sure if wed even survive as a business We were saddened by the stories of desperation and hopelessness and so we started delivering free coffee/tea/hot chocolate/water and sometimes eve...n bacon n egg rolls down the line... our small token of hope and positivity in such tough times Some of our regular customers (and even random strangers) heard about what we were doing and started donating money for coffee vouchers for the line. Because of this we were able to provide this free service to not only the people standing in the line but also to the Caringbah Centrelink staff who have been working tirelessly 7 days a week to assist our community during this challenging time Today, thankfully there are no long lines and our service is no longer needed.
