25.01.2022 FLIGHT | Our Year 9 and Year 10 Technology & Innovation students have been conducting Powered Flight Testing with AMA Delta Darts and learning how to build and fly RPA - Remotely Piloted Aircraft - Quad copters/drones . . . and it's not as easy as it looks, but it does look like fun!

25.01.2022 YEAR 12 PREP VISIT | Each year we take those Year 12 students who started at Westside, back to where it all began in Prep. This Year 12s where very excited about their visit to Prep and were also able to visit many of their Primary teachers bringing back memories and stories! What a blessing it is to be at a school where no matter how big you get, you are not forgotten!

24.01.2022 ONLY 2 SLEEPS TO GO | Over the last we have been preparing for the return of our much loved students! Teachers have been planning and preparing lessons; teacher aides have been copying, pasting, cutting and binding; summer sport coaches have been forming game plans and so so much more. Only 2 sleeps to go until the 'First Day' for 2021 - we are looking forward to seeing you all again and meeting our new friends!

23.01.2022 FIRST DAY 2021 | What a fantastic first day we had as we caught up with old friends and welcomed new friends and their families to our college. The day was full of excitement, laughter and many smiling faces. Thank you all for such a great 'First Day' and we look forward to all of the days ahead that we will share!

22.01.2022 MANY NATIONS, ONE FAMILY | Our annual Multicultural Day was a celebration of the diversity that makes our WCC community so special! From traditional dress, greetings and performances to a spectacular mural, we embraced our uniqueness, as we stood united.

20.01.2022 100 DAYS TO GO | Today our Year 12s celebrated together to mark their 100 days left of Year 12. Despite what has been a very different and challenging year, today they just simply enjoyed being together, eating and laughing!

20.01.2022 JUNIOR PRIMARY BOOK WEEK PARADE | Today the Primary Campus was filled with a colourful collection of book characters coming to life with the theme of ‘Curious Creatures and Wild Minds’. It was pure joy seeing our children embrace literacy and develop a love of reading.

19.01.2022 FINISHING WITH STYLE | Last Friday evening our Year 12s finished their final year of schooling by celebrating together at their Formal. The girls looked beautiful in their elegant dresses, while the boys were both dashing & debonair. It was a great way to finish together and despite the challenges of 2020 they did it with great class and style!

15.01.2022 SIDE BY SIDE | Today was a special day for our Year 12s and their families, as we took time to dedicate them to God for the year ahead as they lead our College. They pledged to stand together side-by-side as they care for and encourage the students at Westside. And as the rain came down, so too did the blessings!

14.01.2022 READING BUDDIES | Wednesday lunchtime is always fun when your Year 10 Buddy comes to read with you! This program is a real highlight for our Year 1 students and not only fosters a love of reading but builds valuable relationships across our college.

14.01.2022 GOULD HOUSE MAKING A SPLASH | After a day of having fun in the sun, Gould House swam away with the win at our Secondary Swimming Carnival yesterday. Congratulations goes to all of this year's Age Champions and to everyone who jumped in for a swim for House pride!

08.01.2022 GREAT START | What a fantastic start to Term 3 we have had this week and so nice to see so many smiling faces around the college! Well done everyone, see you again next week.

06.01.2022 YEAR 12 GRADUATION | Congratulations to the Class of 2020 you did it! Over the course of your schooling, you have had to confront many challenges and when that wasn’t stressful enough, in this your final year fate decided to throw a global pandemic at you. Through all of this you’ve learnt resilience and life skills that will help you succeed in life for whatever you have planned next. But most importantly, we pray that you pursue a life that is purposeful, where you will use your gifts to build others up because that is an important part of discovering who you are and who you are meant to be. We pray that God will bless you and go before you in all that you do!

05.01.2022 FINAL YEAR 12 SHILOH ASSEMBLY | Tuesday this week our Secondary campus held our last Shiloh Assembly with the Year 12s, only problem was we can’t fit into Shiloh at the moment so our Student Leaders had to think outside the box. How about a live recording of an episode of the Good Word Podcast!? Now that’s creative! Our Student Leaders led us through a program of performances, rap battles, prayer, trick shots, Meet the Teacher, and an awesome message reminding us of the deep love of God expressed through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Thank you to everyone who made this last Shiloh possible!

04.01.2022 GOODBYE YEAR 12 | This week we said Goodbye to our Class of 2020. As the whole College gathered together, there were shouts of joy, laughs and of course tears! We will miss you greatly, but know that God has amazing plans for your life!

04.01.2022 2020 LITERARY COMPETITION WINNER | Together we want to congratulate Abigail for her 1st place in Queensland in the Yrs 11-12 Poem competition. Abigail's debut work, 'Fractals', is more than words on a page. Take a closer look and you'll notice the intricate canvas she has painted, literally! For Abigail, a picture says 1000 words, and then some! Congratulations also goes to Sarah in Year 12 for receiving a 'Highly Commended' in the Yrs 11-12 Short Story. Well done girls on such outstanding work!

02.01.2022 YEAR 6 VISIT TO SECONDARY | This week our Year 6 cohort came across to the Secondary school to have a taste of what high school is like. During their visit they made a slide puzzle in Tech, tried archery in PE and found out that English is much more than just spelling words. So great to see so many new and happy faces and we look forward to seeing you all again soon at Secondary!

02.01.2022 STUDENT LEADERS PREPARE FOR 2021 | At the start of every year our Year 12 Student Executive spend three days together preparing and praying for the year ahead. On minimal sleep we gathered around God’s Word to explore the ‘logos’, or meaning of life, found through Jesus and how this should transform the way we live and lead. After Bible talks, planning sessions, French cricket, surf rafting, praise and worship, along with plenty of laughs camp was over and we were on our way home with fresh enthusiasm for the year ahead; no matter what is thrown at us!
