25.01.2022 Domestic violence thrives in isolation so it's crucial for us to look out for the safety and well-being of our loved ones by checking in with them. While we have to physically distance, we shouldn't be socially or emotionally distancing ourselves from friends, family members, and workmates. Listening, believing, and being a safe person to come to is one of the most valuable roles we can play in helping victims.... If you want more information about how to be a safe person person, you can call 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732) If somebody is in immediate risk, then always call the police

24.01.2022 We acknowledge that we are all #InThisTogether and that each and every one of us has a role to play when it comes to reconciliation and building relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, and cultures. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Bridge Walk for Reconciliation (photo by SMH). #NRW2020 #reconciliation #InThisTogether2020 #DomesticViolence

11.01.2022 Financial abuse is not as straightforward as people may think. This article explains the complexities of financial abuse and shares personal personal stories. Women have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic in many ways, and because of the financial consequences this type of abuse is now far more likely. Thank you Mamamia for shining a light on the unseen stories and signs of financial abuse through the #ItWasInvisible campaign!

02.01.2022 Today is Sorry Day, which is about more than just saying sorry. We reflect on the incredible courage, strength and resilience shown by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, communities, and peoples. We reflect on the injustices faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as a result of colonisation, forced removals, and other Australian government practices, and that historical injustice is still an ongoing source of intergenerational trauma.... #NationalSorryDay #NRW2020
