08.01.2022 A woman will re-appear at court today after investigators laid further charges over the alleged theft of jewellery and cash worth more than $40,000 while workin...g in the support service industry. Police have been told that between December 2018 and October 2019, jewellery and cash has been stolen from the homes of terminally ill and disabled people in Wiley Park, Bexley, Drummoyne and Doonside. Officers from Campsie, Burwood and Blacktown Police Area Commands commenced an investigation into the reports. On Thursday 10 October 2019, a 46-year-old Blacktown woman was arrested and charged. She remains before the courts. Following further inquiries, investigators have laid an additional 12 charges, including: five counts of steal property in dwelling/house, four counts of make/furnish a statement which is false/misleading, two counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception, and goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen. Police will allege in court that the woman was employed by numerous support agencies within the disability sector, where she attended the homes of terminally ill and people with disabilities. The woman is due to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Tuesday 26 November 2019).

01.01.2022 Police are appealing for information after a passenger was assaulted on a train between Hurstville and the Sydney CBD. On Tuesday 24 September 2019), a 30-year...-old male passenger was travelling on a citybound train from Hurstville just before 3.30pm, when he was approached by a man. Following a conversation, the man picked up the passengers bag before assaulting him. The incident was reported to officers from the Police Transport Command. As part of inquiries, officers have released images of two men who may be able to assist with the inquiries. The first man is described as being Asian appearance, and of a medium. He is depicted wearing navy jacket over a striped jumper, grey pants, brown shoes, and sunglasses. Police are urging anyone with information, or anyone who knows the identity of the man, to come forward. Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au/ Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
