25.01.2022 An extra special medicine pot weaving circle. Sitting in a sacred circle in the arms of nature, we will weave our intention, heart and Lomandra fibre into a powerful medicine pot. I'll show you how to activate your pot to be an instrument of healing, imbued with loving energy. This is a space of deep sharing and connection, a space of peace and introspection, as well as being great fun as we tap into the creative energy of the universe. Beginners are welcomed!

25.01.2022 Eek! Just had an assistant weaver pull out of seven sisters festival in mid March (Mornington peninsula) - is there anyone keen to take her place in our motley ...crew? DM me if you are keen - you’ll have to get to the festival site at Mt Martha (12-15 March) ready to camp, and you’ll get a free ticket. We weave Friday and Saturday. If you can contribute any fibre, that would be a bonus! Probs doing coil weaving and possibly twist weave too. Though we are open to suggestion if you have fibre. it’s going to be epic! Deep sister time, deep healing time. See more

24.01.2022 More road trip wonders. Directional Antpits. Helping out the pig hunters who left their wheel spanner at home. A first! Haha. and, burning off on country. A smoking by default, haha you all know I know nothing is by default.

23.01.2022 Weaving workshops are emerging from hibernation ... and spring has arrived! Weaving as deep healing work, weaving our inner beings together as we sit in sacred circle... everything is woven in one eternal pattern of lovingness, we see this when we open our hearts to receive it.

23.01.2022 Stopped for a quick tour on the invite of Iain at Emu springs - they (Mimal Rangers) are creating a campsite and possible cultural/meeting centre for stopovers ...in the mid-country. Wow! The idea for deep healing and culture journeys to this place on country just emerging and making itself known. Food for thought, and a thread to watch as it unfolds and weaves itself alongside already present connections and those that are still yet to become known... opening more and more to the unknown becoming known, and vice versa. 23.01.2022 "Wild women are an unexplainable spark of life. They ooze freedom and seek awareness, they belong to nobody but themselves yet give a piece of who they are to e...veryone they meet. If you have met one, hold on to her, she'll allow you into her chaos but she'll also show you her magic. ~Nikki Rowe See more

21.01.2022 We're on the weave again! Immerse yourself in a healing, meditative, engaging circle full of ceremony and grounding, as you learn to weave with stunning pandanus fibre from Arnhem Land. Sink into the power of this ancient art of connection and feel the energy transform your heart.

20.01.2022 Joy is in the house. Aceoven instalkation by Rene Bahloo

20.01.2022 Before I go offline for a while, a quick share

19.01.2022 Stopped in Bulman to say hi to family - this time it’s Peter and Annette Miller - remember Blakbala mujik? If not - google it - sensational indigenous band from way back where Peter was lead singer. Sing with me!

16.01.2022 Contemplations of an Edgewalker The most beautiful thing. Just watching Petre, Padmé's pet rat, loving herself. First, base of the tail. Contorting her body for... her teeth to reach the landscape of her itchy skin, she moves with yogic grace into a perfectly executed spinal twist. I wonder... How does she experience her body when she does this? I imagine the spine-tingling discomfort of the dry skin, the stretching sensation in her side as she keeps the position in place, muscles contracting in some places, expanding in others. Internal organs wringing out all things toxic. The rub-rubbing of her teeth on the semi-yielding texture of hair-meets-tail must border on the thrill of ecstasy. Then she moves into another position. What draws her attention from one experience to the next? A thought? Surely not. The gentle arising and following of a different awareness perhaps? Or the joy of engaging in the ever-fluctuating intensities of feeling alive in a sentient body? As one action naturally flows on to the next, does she hold the memory of the itch-scratch just gone by? Surely a rat must follow her distinctively ratty flow with all of her being. And me, look at my flow, I'm thinking so much! So human! But I also feel Petre’s rattiness in my body as I imagine what it's like to be her. Two hands hold her belly in a line as she lowers her head to take a little nibble of the flesh between them. She places her weight on her back legs, sitting up on her haunches as all of this unfolds. Her bottom right foot arches up on the instep, quivering ever-so-slightly in what I might imagine to be divinely sensuous pleasure. Four delicate fingers with elegant, elongated nails, drum scratch-scratching into the soft hair of her side. Her neck arches back this time, and the hair on her throat moves in unison Ah! I notice myself with a start. There I am being distinctly human again! I'm not looking at a movement anymore, well, not as a direct observation, anyway. I find myself watching it instead in my mind's eye, as Petre has long-since settled down to sleep on my Bunnings receipts. And there's a strange thing about this. It seems like a memory, but I know it’s not. On closer inspection of my own experience, I realise that the arching of her neck exists solely in my imagination, or in my forgetting, or perhaps a not-noticing of what I actually saw in the first place. I wonder: How often do we walk in this not-rememberingness, ready at any moment to defend our ‘truth' which, in truthier truth, often turns out to be illusion. A yawn. A gnashing of teeth. A twitch of the ears. Petre smiles. #edgewalker

11.01.2022 Song of the edgewalker weaver...

11.01.2022 Driving from Barunga to Bulman. Love this country. And as I was driving I was singing to country, singing to them clever old men who run behind my troopy on eit...her side every time I drive to the north east. And I saw a willy Willy. A big one. Gakali! It’s you! I exclaimed out loud. You heard me singing, here you are! and the whirlwind veered into the middle of the road in front of me and whoosh! Next thing I knew, I drove right over it. It engulfed me, I engulfed it. It was amazing! Another deep sign, a portent, a portal. Magic unfolding. The old men are with me, as I drive to honour another of their calibre, Old man emu, at his Bäpuru in a few days time. Now with them in the Dreamtime. One from the north, one in the east, one in the west. I wonder why, and marvel at the patterning unfolding. See more

09.01.2022 I have woven the shadow. Oh how I feel that shadow in my heart. But it is complete. A full revolution around the body. Beginning, middle, end. Thank you for sha...ring the journey with me. Today I create the hollow log around the body. I invite you to weave with me in spirit. #throughthehollowlog See more

08.01.2022 On love and aliveness...

08.01.2022 Capetonians! I'm back in da hood! Ready for a deep weave in sacred space with you...! Come!

08.01.2022 Sun rising. 6amming. Immersing. Cleansing. Saying hello to the spirit of Weemol springs after my absence of over 25 years. Rainbow serpent meets black headed snake near here, in the Dreamtime. Trees in the landscape speak of this story, embodied.

08.01.2022 At long last it's time for another set of weaving workshops! We are preparing for a beautiful, grounding, skill-building and deeply immersive meditation on the practice of the ancient craft of weaving. It will be a sacred space to bring yourself, to be nurtured and held safely in a circle of like-minded souls, sharing and breathing and creating together. I will also introduce some embodiment practices/nervous system regulation skills for navigating challenging times, like breathing, visualisation and soul-to-cell toning, into the ceremonial-style workshop circle.

07.01.2022 Catching up with some Barunga family. Putting flowers on Bullneck’s and Pommie’s graves. Swimming with the fresh water crocodile at new crossing. And the stories of rainbow serpent and clever men... country is speaking to me deeply.

07.01.2022 Bull dust. Blindness. Bulman. Beauty. Bed for the night. Blessed.

07.01.2022 And this... is why I’m on the trip in the first place. To come to my dhuway’s funeral- bäpuru. Old man emu, at spring camp. And to see my daughter, waku, Rosie ...(Dolpingu) Roslyn Yunupingu, who I love dearly. So blessed to be here. Last night, sitting watching the sunset. Us. Together again. See more

06.01.2022 Me, Rene, sharing my heart out at Cape Town's Pecha Kucha gathering last year. To three hundred or so people. Scary! haha

05.01.2022 Call out for an assistant!

02.01.2022 Barunga. My first pandanus splitting in a year. Aaaah so joyous. Feels so good to be back here in this place, on this country. Spirit home.
