23.01.2022 I know COVID-19 is at the top of your minds right nowas it should be. Things are escalating quickly, and it’s a good idea for you and your family to be as prepared as possible. Taking a protective action early can make a huge difference, for your family, your community, and at this point, the world at large. Giving your immune system some support with diet, lifestyle and nutritional and herbal supplementation is something we can all be doing. If you are considering taking immune boosting supplements, be sure to get in touch or speak with your health professional first to find out what's suitable for you.

18.01.2022 UNDER-EATING? We all know the negative effects of over-eating. But not eating enough on a daily basis has its own list of issues on our health and wellbeing. It can put loads of stress on the body and can actually slow down our metabolism, leading to muscle loss and symptoms of fatigue, nutrient deficiencies, hormone imbalances, slow digestion, constipation, feeling cold all the time, a weakened immune system, obsessive thoughts and food cravings. 17.01.2022 Yes to children interacting with nature in a wild way, so they learn to appreciate & preserve the natural world. This is so important as we face the threat of our climate in crisis and the destruction of habitats around the world.

17.01.2022 Withania root - also known as Ashwagandha - or a hug in a bottle! The herb of vitality, long-life and balance in Ayurvedic medicine. One of my favourite calming adaptogen herbs that helps our body adapt to and handle stress, whether it’s physical, mental or emotional (we know they’re all connected). It nourishes & soothes our nervous system & our adrenals, and can help in chronic illness, long-term stress & exhaustion through it’s regulating effects on cortisol.... It sedates our nervous system without being hypnotic, but at the same time it rejuvenates & increases an overall feeling of wellbeing, without the stimulation. Withania can be taken as a tea, powder, capsule or liquid extract. Avoid it if you’re allergic to the nightshade family or if you’re pregnant, as it’s been used as an abortifacient in some cultures. Always see a practitioner before trying any new healing remedies. by herbalacademy #adaptogens #withania #ashwagandha #herbalism #herbs #adaptogenicherbs #herbalmedicine #wellnesshubeltham #foodasmedicine #destress

14.01.2022 I could not wait to tuck into this delicious marinara salad tonight. Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, heaps of vitamins and minerals, plus so high in protein, it was the perfect dinner. I lightly tossed it with garlic & olive oil. So good. #yarravalleypoulty #thanksbert #needtoworkonmypresentation #whoneedspasta

06.01.2022 I started walking in my early 20's. Each year I would plan a holiday based around where I could walk. On my own or with friends, it didn't matter. This is me hiking in the Dolomites where I explored century old tracks and breathtaking views. My favourite was a solo 5 day walk on Hinchinbrook island where I was alone, quiet alone, days spent without talking to anyone. I felt independent, no-one to help me cross streams or to put up my tent with. I learnt to trust myself,... to withdraw into myself (in a good way) that allowed me to think, to open my mind and my heart and to really connect with the life around me. I felt part of something much bigger than myself. I've realised walking is not an option in my life, it's a requirement. Hopefully I'll be 80 and still taking long, slow rambling walks in the hills somewhere. Never underestimate the power of a good walk, even if it's around the block. It’s an age-old practice that should be preserved, and will help to awaken, to heal and to boost health and quality of life. See more

01.01.2022 A brilliant initiative by Professor Kerry Reid-Searl to help teach kids in schools about the health of their digestive system - all by being poo-aware! I’ve been talking to my son about his poo since he was little and it’s now a pretty standard conversation in our household. If you’ve seen me in consultation, then I’ve also no doubt asked you lots of questions about your poo! That’s because it gives me valuable insights into your, or your child’s, overall health. ... Why not print out this kids version of the Bristol Stool chart (in the comments below), stick it on the back of your toilet door and start talking about poo now! FYI, Type 3 & 4 are generally considered normal. So let’s take the embarrassment out of talking about poo!! There’s a lot our poo can teach us.
