25.01.2022 If you're interested in more comments on this issue, look no further than Westfield West Lakes own Facebook page - got to give them credit for having not deleted all the comments against the boom gates. So far. Also, I reiterate that my family are still shopping at West Lakes for the sake of the poor traders and workers in the place, despite the inconvenience and extra cost, because I am working to ensure the boom gates are removed without sending all the traders broke first! So, please continue to shop there even if it is just a quick pop in and out to save the jobs and businesses of the innocent. And don't give up...more news soon on the next exciting stage of our campaign.

24.01.2022 Yesterday I had a meeting with Westfield Management who were very keen to share information and ideas about the car parking at the centre. I highlighted issues with staff safety in regard to staff car parking and need for dedicated crossing. I will continue to work on the issues as highlighted.

08.01.2022 I totally understand everyone's frustrations at the boom gates - but for the sake of the businesses, mainly family owned small businesses who have put everything on the line for their shop, and for the sake of the workers there too, can we please keep shopping there even if it's a quick in and out so Westfield get no income from it. We need to keep and create jobs in the western suburbs - not lose them!

06.01.2022 Further update on the Boom Gates. We have now received copies of the Land Titles to the West Lakes Shopping Centre. There appears to be some rights of way, meaning unrestricted access to and from various sections of the land, as recorded on the titles. I will continue to pursue all options to remove the Boom Gates but obviously if I was an elected member of Parliament I would have more clout to change this situation. One thing I would do as an MP is to bring in legislation to review the legalities of the boom gates at the shopping centre.

03.01.2022 Just been interviewed on 5AA regarding this issue - this morning spoken to Nick Xenophon and also previously spoken to John Darley on this issue. We believe that we need an Act of Parliament to ban the boom gates - remember, this is just the first one in SA - if this one becomes entrenched then expect them in Westfields every else in SA - and who knows where else?

01.01.2022 We have concerns about bore water being used to water the staff car park area during the day. A quick Google search will tell you how bore water may impact your car.
