20.01.2022 Running the drive-in is bloody hard work and we don’t often get time to hear the stories people tell but reading this article and people’s comments recharges our batteries to do it all again. To read in this article that it is better now than before is just awesome!! Thanks Daily Liberal :)

19.01.2022 Pffft!! Byron and Noosa are supposedly celebrity hotspots, Dubbo is where it’s at!! When Karl was here he didn’t even need his guard dog. 18.01.2022 The Dubbo WestView Drive-in is the perfect location for a movie night with restless or busy kids. They can talk, play a device, play together and even watch a movie if they want too. We have become very popular with parents with kids with sensory issues and Autism. You can choose to be as close or as far away from others as you wish, you control the volume and if there is a melt down there’s so much space you can just ride it out without the need to leave due to the worry ...of effecting others. Finding Nemo is a great movie and the storyline has some wonderful hidden messages for kids (and adults). Bring the kids for a night at the Dubbo WestView Drive-in tonight, gates open at 6.30pm for a 7.30pm screening.

06.01.2022 Please read and share this post and remind people and especially our young people about a very special event in OUR Australian history and culture happened today. It was a real toss up on which movie to play tonight at the WestView Drive-in. We are great fans of fun and traditions of other cultures such as the European tradition of Halloween but I’m pretty sure not many people wake up today and remember one great, iconic and historic Australian moments actually happened on th...is day. On this afternoon of the 31st day of October 103 years ago the brave men and horses of the 4th, 12th Australian Light Horse undertook what is know as the last great cavalry charge taking the town of Beersheba during the First World War. The Australian Light Horse was to be used purely as cavalry for the first time. The Light Horse moved off at the trot, and almost at once quickened to a gallop. As they came over the top of the ridge and looked down the long, gentle open slope to Beersheba, they were seen by the Turkish gunners, who opened fire with shrapnel. But the pace was too fast for the gunners. After three kilometres Turkish machine-guns opened fire from the flank, but they were detected and silenced by British artillery. The rifle fire from the Turkish trenches was wild and high as the Light Horse approached. The front trench and the main trench were jumped and some men dismounted and then attacked the Turks with rifle and bayonet from the rear. Some galloped ahead to seize the rear trenches, while other squadrons galloped straight into Beersheba. Nearly all the wells of Beersheba were intact and further water was available from a storm that had filled the pools. The 4th and 12th Light Horse casualties were thirty-one killed and thirty-six wounded; they captured over 700 men. The capture of Beersheba meant that the Gaza-Beersheba line was turned. Gaza fell a week later and on 9 December 1917. To commemorate this daring, brave event and the men and horses that were lost we chose to make our next movie The Lighthorsemen which will be played only a few days after Remembrance Day on November 14th. So please don’t just think of today as a day of lollies and dress ups tonight at dawn remember a slouch hat, emu plumes and the brave men and horses of the Australian Light Horse.
