25.01.2022 Fantastic Graduation puppy class at Cottesloe Vets, we all had so much fun and lots of success .

25.01.2022 City Beach Vets puppy class with The Puppy Associates is full of cuteness.

25.01.2022 This little adolescent dog warms my heart. He didnt get of to a good start in life, but he is making up for this now. Arthur the 7 month old KKC x Toy Poodle (75% Poodle, 25% King Charles) has a wonderful relationship with his caregivers. Well done to Arther and his family they have really done a great job with this little guy.

23.01.2022 What does "success" with your dog look like for you? Let us know! Watch this and be inspired about what is possible with mindful, intentional and strategic pla...y with your dog. A grandmother with 3 wild Dalmatians, a brand new puppy owner with a door-opening, thieving Cocker Spaniel, a National Agility Champion whose overindulgence turned her youngest puppy into an unfocused hot mess. Watch these and others and see how even an imperfect application of our program produces jaw dropping results in people who love their dogs and are looking for answers through kindness. Recallers works and tens of thousands of my students know that Recallers works Its why my alumni students keep coming back year after year The success you want can happen, and its the success that YOU want for you and your dog. Its about taking action and making the investment to change how things currently are. If you go into Recallers knowing what you want to get out of the program, our coaching and community will get you there. Doors to Recallers close at Midnight PT July 24th. Jump in, give it a go and if its not for you - remember there is always our 14 day money-back guarantee. What have you got to lose? Or maybe the question I should be posing is what have you got to gain? >> Learn more https://recallers.com/enrol/

19.01.2022 Socializing puppies is more than just meeting people and dogs...and this is especially relevant during this time of social distancing. Though our exposure to so...me stimuli is now limited, theres so much we can do. Yes it is helpful to have your puppy interact with people and other dogs, but there are other things you can do to support your puppys emotional well-being as they develop. Your puppy is building neural pathways with each life experience during their early stages of life. You can create situations to help develop these neural pathways even when your puppy cannot meet other dogs and new people in the same way you might have before Covid. Here are some tips on how to continue socialization during this unusual time: USING AUDIO AND VIDEO STIMULI There are many videos on the internet that replicate the same sounds that your puppy may experience outside. Examples include construction noise, traffic, skateboard sounds, and sounds of kids playing. Our goal is to expose our pups to these noises so that they are no big deal. Start off by playing these sounds at a level that is barely audible, and day by day if your pup shows no reaction to the sounds, increase the volume. The key here is to watch your puppys body language. Your pups signals of unease can be subtle and easy to miss. While youre looking for a loose, wiggly, and enthusiastic puppy, if youre unsure we can help you identify signs of stress. During the socialization window, exposure isnt what matters its your pups emotional reaction to new things that matters. WEIRD MOVEMENT? NO PROBLEM On top of strange noises, we can expect that pups will have to tolerate all kinds of stimuli coming towards them unexpectedly over the course of their lives. While you cant bike or skateboard through your apartment, you do have a broom, a blow dryer, and a vacuum. After your pup shows no reaction to the sounds of these items, you can start working on desensitizing them to movement. Remember to start at a low level and to work your way up. It is better to go slow here than to move too fast and risk your pup developing a negative reaction. TOLERANCE TO SUDDEN ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE (SEC) We want to be sure your puppy is comfortable with changes in their environment. Now that the environment is somewhat constricted, we have to be creative in making sure your puppy is exposed to changes so he or she will not be overwhelmed when changes happen in real life. Move items in your house when your puppy isnt looking. Use what you have around the house to create obstacle courses. We then encourage your puppy to explore this new environment while ensuring the process is fun! Together, we can find ways to disrupt your environment so that change is a normal part of your puppys life. ALL SURFACES ARE SAFE We want to be sure your puppy is exposed to a variety of walking surfaces to prevent phobias from developing to different floor substrates. We can do this at home by setting up an obstacle course that includes things like stairs and mimics different surfaces your puppy will encounter out in the world. Your pup should feel comfortable walking on carpet, wood, tile, linoleum, cement, and grates. FROM EARS TO TAILS, EYES TO NAILS We want to be sure your puppy is comfortable with all kinds of touch, from being picked up to having their nails clipped. We can practice this at home through conditioning and desensitization. We have plenty of time and now is the time to ensure our pups are totally comfortable with being pet, having their paws held, ears swabbed, eyes opened, teeth checked, and feeling gentle pokes with the eraser end of a pencil (to mimic injections). Thank you AbiK9 Dog Training for creating the infographic!

05.01.2022 Dear Kerry, From one dog lover to another I just wanted to thank you sincerely for your amazing effort and your enthusiasm when running your dog training classes. I think you are truly so knowledgeable on the behaviours of dogs as well as patient caring/and compassionate in each class. Particularly as there were various breeds of puppies that attended our sessions. ... The weekly topics were so relevant and relatable as they were growing.I so appreciate also all your weekly handouts and the ongoing puppy resources online that you also shared.. They too have been so informative to guide me. Your puppy sessions have definitely given me a strong start to manage my puppy Chino and I now look forward to continue his training with confidence while he is going through his Toddler stage . Thank you for being so generous in taking the extra time to spend with Cappacino during the sessions. It made a huge difference watching and learning from you I have found a friend who owns a beautiful brown Labrador that is 6 years old and is so patient So we are going to arrange to go for walks on the weekend as well . Please thank your husband as well, He was also fabulous and kind Blessings and keep in touch Suzie

04.01.2022 SHAPING BEHAVIOURS , . , . These guys are a very happy and excitable bunc...h, especially when it comes to food (I can relate ). The puppies are 5&1/2 weeks old now and we have started working on shaping their behaviour by rewarding them when they are behaving calmly. You will see in the video that the puppies only receive food or praise from me when they are sitting calmly and making eye contact. At one point Miss Yellow was sitting too far away for me to reward her, and when she realised that her sit wasnt paying off for her she moved in closer, but she also jumped on a puppy and pawed at the gate. So I ignored her and waited until she offered me the behaviour I was after, then acknowledged and rewarded her. This is how we can shape a puppys behaviour from very young. Whatever we reward, we reinforce. See more

03.01.2022 The value of food rewards!

02.01.2022 Love this little picture

01.01.2022 Hi Cecile, I hope youre well. I have for a while been meaning to provide you with an update. Once again, so much thanks to you and Kerry for guiding us with our care of Mila. I remember being on the phone for an hour or so with you after the first puppy class because I was so overwhelmed!... We train every Sunday with Trevor from TopDogz, who is also so helpful and knowledgeable. I recently had a consult with Emma Norton who now does walk and trains once a week. Mila is such a beautiful, smart girl. I cant believe she is almost 1! I really enjoy learning and training with her and it is so worth it. She is the best Thank you again Erica

01.01.2022 I really like this little dog, he is amazingly smart and keen to learn.
