The nav aids pictured are among seven in East and South Gippsland that were funded as part of the 2018 Boating and Safety Facilities Program. A total of $408,000 was directed to the following projects: Replacing five existing lateral marks at Mallacoota Inlet Relocating new entrance channel at Port Albert and replacing with trident buoys Upgrading Port Albert Channel including lighting on number 12, 14, 16, 20 markers Upgrading Lewis Channel navigation aids Upgrading Corner Inlet and Port Albert navigation aids with GSM for category 1 lights Installing channel navigation aids at Shallow Inlet Boat Hole Upgrading Montague Point cardinal mark These important projects have now been delivered by Gippsland Ports and will make boating safer in the Gippsland region.
