24.01.2022 37 walkers met last Friday for the Echidna Trail and Bakers Gully Track loops in the Onkaparinga River National Park. Breaking into 2 groups, one led by Lynne Norman and the other by Ian Norman, we started off in opposite directions of the 2 loops. First Loop: Led by Lynne, this group tackled the Echidna Trail in reverse, firstly through a narrow section taking us over moderate slopes and through lovely pink gum, grey box and sheoak bushland. We made our way to the unmarked fire trail called Bakers Gully Track and followed that down to the river. Where we had the first of two rest breaks.

21.01.2022 A gorgeous morning for adding signage to posts and fences in McLarenFlat, Onkaparinga River National Park and Kuitpo Forest. A perfect team of 4. Masked and ready. Momentarily bogged in a flooded track into Kuitpo, Chris nifty driving got us out of a potentially sticky situation. A happy mornings work.
21.01.2022 The walk today from Willunga was led by Jo Todd. Two groups of 12 walked up Kings Hill Rd.which warmed us up on an winter's morning with fog and mizzle. One group returned by Taylors Hill Rd with some side detours. The other group came back by Range Rd and the path between the old and new roads. Thank you to the community members who established that path some years ago and to the Bush Care people who tend its vegetation. Photos of walkers on the path. A good 3.5 hr walk.
21.01.2022 Great turn up of volunteers this morning in Vickery Lane, Willunga. Installed posts & chain at entry of creek crossing & commenced work on installation of stepping stones to cross the creek.

19.01.2022 FRIDAY WALK...25 SEPTEMBER CANCELLED. Wet weather yesterday and expected rain today has caused cancellation of today's walk. It will be rescheduled in the next program.
19.01.2022 11 Volunteers today despite weather forecast. Only one shower of rain. Trail cleared through very pretty scrub up Thomas Hill. Lovely Panoramic views.
18.01.2022 Another stile & another post installed this morning in Mt Panorama Forest reserve. Very pretty with the Egg & Bacon plant (Eutaxia) in full flower.
18.01.2022 It was shady down in the dell today putting stepping stones and steps over the creek at Cooper Lane, McLaren Flat. They will be handy for walkers especially when the creek flows in winter and the existing crossing becomes a slippery slide.
18.01.2022 What a glorious day last Friday was! Perfect for our walk in Old Noarlunga. A group of 11 led by myself with Bill Ross as tail-end Charlie took the left fork away from the suspension bridge where we started, while the second group of 12 led by Ian Norman and tail-ended by Lynne Norman took the right fork. Our group walked along the river and then up and over Bobs Knob and then up to the Pipeline Track. This was the steepest section of this hike. Both groups met up at that point where we took a break and enjoyed the views. Our home bound walk took us to the top of the park where we could look at the views over the suburbs beyond Old Noarlunga, the river itself, and views across to the Gulf St Vincent before we headed down and back along the river to the suspension bridge.
18.01.2022 WALK Friday 21st August 2020 Coastal walk Pt Willunga to Moana and back. Walk leader Franka Gerlach (0456805566)... 4hrs This walk uses cliff and beach, a mixture of easy and more challenging walking Dogs OK Meeting place is at 8.30am at the main carpark at the Eco Village, Aldinga. Road works on Port Rd are being done this week. IF they are still ongoing on Friday you will not be able to access the Village car park via Port Rd. Instead go to the roundabout at Aldinga and head north down Old Coach Rd . Turn first left onto Carter St which is opposite 'Goodness'. When you come to the intersection go left and round the corner on Tetragonia Walk and continue in a westward direction until you come to the carpark. Walking poles will be useful on this walk as there are some slippery bits.
17.01.2022 Lucky for some! 13th stile went in today. Great team of 8.
17.01.2022 Loop 2: From the river we made our way back along Bakers Gully Track where we met the group led by Ian Norman coming from the opposite direction. We walked over many undulations as we did in the first section, passing many kangaroos, and back to the Echidna Track which we followed to the ruins and then down the steep trail leading to the waterfall where we enjoyed a second rest break. The return trip along the Echidna Trail continued to offer lovely bushland with sundews aplenty, all the way back to our starting point at gate 12. Thankyou to both our walk leaders and tail-end-Charlies!

This short walk follows the Heysen trail into the Park and goes down to the Waterfall returning by another route. Narrow bush tracks and a steady ascent/ descent. The walk includes a moderate ascent on the other side of the waterfall. This is a bush walk that has trip hazards, protruding vegetation and some slippy bits; we will have to walk carefully. Sticks will be useful. There are lots of flowering natives and wonderful views. No dogs. Meet at 8.30 on James Track. Address for Maps 686 James Track, Inman Valley. There is a house here on James Track and car parking nearby at the start of the unmade road reserve.
13.01.2022 A very cold and windy morning on Wickham Hill Road yesterday, but we got a lot done. Clearing agapanthus, daffodils and inch-man ants; raking out a trail in this section; gravelling the path on either side of the local landowners driveway; driving a star picket steel pole in and installing a post; and staking out the best position for the next post. #WBTworkgang
13.01.2022 Great day for signage yesterday: at Hart Wetlands; Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park gates 3 and 2; at Norman Road Aldinga Beach; and at the section head on the Esplanade at Sellicks Beach, where a local, James, took the group shot.

12.01.2022 Every single post installation is recorded. Every post signage put on is recorded. Every stile, bridge, Section markers, fence wimp, is recorded, by Zara Lupton. Slow and steady, our volunteers continue building and signing our 130km #WillungaBasinTrail. Yesterdays efforts included putting our logos and walk markers on 6 posts, installing another post, weeding, clearing and raking out the track in this section of the trail. A great mornings work. Thankyou Team #WBTworkgang
12.01.2022 16 walkers continued on to the Nixon-Skinner Conservation Park a few kms down the road for a very delightful short walk through this privately donated reserve. Wildflowers and birds were in abundance and it felt at times like a treasure hunt that was enjoyed by all.
11.01.2022 The weather was kind to us for last Fridays walk along forestry reserves from the Ironbarks picnic area in Kuitpo Forest. Twenty-eight walkers in two groups led by Zara Lupton and Chris Davies enjoyed a moderate walk of 9 kms with scenery changes from ironbarks to pine forests and views across valleys and tracks bogged with recent rains.

07.01.2022 Our Victor Harbour escapade last Friday was most enjoyable. Thankyou walk leader Jane Bower. Twenty two walkers left from Kent Reserve and walked along the banks of the Inman River, through natural Red Gum bush land, past a bird hide (where we encountered a rare Bird named Jo ), past Clydesdale horses and through the floodplain. We took a rest break at the Victor Harbor Cemetary before returning to Kent Reserve, a walk of 9.5 kms in total.

05.01.2022 29 brave walkers on a cold, foggy morning were welcomed by a large group of kangaroos at the start of the Myponga Reservoir Trail yesterday. Splitting into two groups we set off around this fairly easy course with lots of delightful vistas peeping through the trees and the fog. Thankyou Jane Bower for leading the second group.
04.01.2022 The routine as well as unexpected and extra little jobs that go with installing posts: enlarging holes in order for screws to line up; digging holes to check for impediments to star pickets being driven into chosen spot; checking photo reports on terrain for Optus or NBN cables etc ... A great mornings work in cold, overcast, windy conditions. 2 posts were installed on Field Street, McLarenVale. #WBTworkgang
03.01.2022 This morning 19 of us met at Myponga Conservation Park and enjoyed a (perhaps short but sufficient) bush walk encompassing a jaunt to the eastern boundary and a short creek stroll to the waterfall, all finished before the weather closed in. Thank you all for coming! 11 of us then went on Phil(the piker)'s recomendation to Belicious ,formerly Glacier Rock Café, for delicious energy giving(sweet) café und küchen..an extra treat! Cheers, Chris.
02.01.2022 Good progress made on the Chalk Hill walkway yesterday by Chris & his group of merry women.
02.01.2022 Over the past fortnight, 5x3 hour sessions later with 3 groups of #WBTworkgang volunteers, it is done. This walkway was a structure we built on the edge of Chalk Hill Winery around an eroded part of the bank. It allows us to exit that part of the winery as a part of the Trail that takes us down an avenue of trees on the property of Chalk Hill Winery. We thank Colin Tilby for arranging for one of the Winerys apprentices, Sam Osmond, to spend 2 hours working with us today. Sams help was greatly appreciated. In honour of the occasion, we have decided that our walkway will be affectionately referred to as Jocks Corner. This section of the Willunga Basin Trail along Field Street and to this walkway has now had signage attached. It is complete. Muddy boots and cheery spirits abound.

01.01.2022 Last Friday we had 37 walkers split into two groups, led by Eddie Morgan and Zara Lupton. We walked from Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park to Sellicks Beach and back, a fairly long 15.4 kms walk in a figure 8 which took us through beautiful Scrub, past the Hart Wetlands, along the Boundary Road and through the Aldinga Washpool, along Silver Sands to Sellicks where we enjoyed a rest break. The return journey took us along the cliffs above Silver Sands and back through the Aldin...ga Washpool and back through Aldinga Scrub. It was most enjoyable, with really lovely scenery and bush. Walking through native vegetation always offers birdsong a-plenty and many wild flowers and scents. It was a joy to see the Washpool so wet and brimming with life. We were blessed with fine weather and hardly any wind, which made our walk relatively easy. What a wonderful group of walkers we have! Thankyou all!
