25.01.2022 There is a famous quote that said: -3 -3 (this is not the case these days, but it is universally recognised as the greatest aircraft of its time). The - was originally designed in America in 1935 by the Douglas Aircraft Company for a long-range passenger aircraft for American Airlines, with the military versions being called C-47 Skytrain or Dakota. The - is a very strong rugged aircraft and was used extensively dur...ing WWII by the Allies for supplies and parachuting troops behind enemy lines, dropping thousands of paratroopers into darkness before dawn over the shores of Normandy on D-Day. They could carry 6,000 pounds of cargo or 28 fully outfitted soldiers. If used for medical transport, it could hold up to 14 patient stretchers and three nurses. : Duncan Fenn & Matthew Crowther #DC3 #workhorse #warbird #wingsoverillawarra Visit NSW

The Trojan was used by 28 different military air arms around the world, with 12 variants built. This has a 1,425hp Wright R.1820 Cyclone (9 cylinder) engine and once had 2 or 6 underwing hardpoints and carried 2 x 0.50 cal Browning machine guns, 20mm cannon... and Napalm, Mk.82 500lb bombs. 16.01.2022 The BAC is a British jet trainer aircraft that was in use with the Royal Air Force (RAF) from 1955 to 1993. It was originally developed by Hunting Percival from the earlier piston engine-powered Percival Provost basic trainer, and later produced by the British Aircraft Corporation (BAC). The incorporated numerous design features to support students during training. The aerodynamic design deliberately avoids speed, instead focusing on favourable handlin...g characteristics and ease of recovery from stall and spin conditions. The cockpit features a side-by-side seating arrangement, with both seats being fitted with duplicated flight controls and instrumentation, in case you bugger it all up! The Jet Provost has a 2,500lb Armstrong Siddeley Viper ASV.11 Mk.202 turbojet engine and reaches a max speed of 708 km/h... "avoids speed" Visit NSW #NewSouthWales #WOI2021 : Duncan Fenn
