We have become somewhat divided in our views & opinions in Melbourne, so its really lovely that as a community we have been able to show acts of care & compassion. Thanks to Amelia, Tracey & Jenika (Birthday ) for our little surprise gifts We would love to hear of acts of kindness you have received during this Lockdown?

16.01.2022 Who knew a long-term lockdown would lead to half-price makeup across many brands? Is this because women have not been wearing make-up for 6+ months? Woolworths have Covergirl, McoBeauty, MUD, Maybelline, Rimmel and L'Oreal all items half price as are other stores like Chemist Warehouse

15.01.2022 Welcome back to ALL our Local Small Businesses! From Cafes to Beauty, Retailers and Services, and so much more, we have missed you all so much. You're the heart and soul of our Community, and the vibe since Wednesday when you re-opened has been phenomenal We physically could only get to so many cafe's and hairdressers and retailers to take photos, so we have added a few oldies but goodies in - so people in pics without masks, was before masks were made compulsory.... ** Sorry Maroondah, Manningham & Boroondara, we love you lots, and promise we will surprise visit you soon to take some shout-out pics ** Keep up the great work in keeping your distance & continue to hand sanitise WoW's. 13.01.2022 Beautiful photos. Keep on staying home WoWs, WE ARE making a difference

12.01.2022 A great story to finish the week! After 8 months stuck in Japan, Lenny is home again in Whitehorse! Everyone has a story from our 7+ month's in lockdown in Melbourne, and we especially know Lenny's story and how hard Tracey worked to get him home, leaving no stone unturned. Who would believe there would just be no flights to get him home since March? Tracey was part of our weekly fence drinks that kept us sane throughout those long months, and each Friday we would touch bas...e downloading on the lockdown blues as well as the calls and emails she had made that week to bring Lenny home. So that Lenny is finally home for Catherine's birthday today and just before animal quarantine in Melbourne closes in December for the year (the only city in Australia with animal quarantine facilities) is a happy ending indeed Photo Credit - The Age Newspaper Read the article here: https://www.theage.com.au//lenny-the-poodle-reunited-with-. . . . #wow #womenofwhitehorse #whitehorse #lenny #lennyreturns #dogstrappedoverseas #rescuemission #dogrescuemission #lennyishome #bringlennyhome #animalquarantine #dogquarantine #quarantinemelbourne

12.01.2022 This family business located in Nunawading once catered to Melbournes Asian wedding industry, so have had to pivot and fast. They deliver authentic Vietnamese meal kits for you to put together yourself. Looking forward to our delivery of Phos later this week, as this is something we have never quite mastered here! https://www.freshofftheboat.net.au

12.01.2022 In case you havent seen this, it is worth watching. Its haunting yet beautiful. A city without its soul - the people. We miss you Melbourne and look forward to the day you are vibrant and in your full element again

11.01.2022 Theres probably no better time than now to find out more about composting and worm farming! This is a free online event hosted by Whitehorse Council, but book in advance...

11.01.2022 Thank goodness for Front Fence drinks with neighbours, especially this Freezing Friday. Over 7 months it has connected us, kept us sane and we have had something to look forward to. It's been lovely as well to say hello to neighbours walking past. There's back fence drinks with other neighbours tomorrow. We know we are lucky and are so very grateful for our Community. We look forward to catching up with others in our street and Community real soon

11.01.2022 Who knew the Circus came to town and then couldnt leave because of Covid? 33 staff from the Circus Royale Australia have been stuck in Bayswater since their last performance mid March. These guys are relying on donations and the generosity of locals to feed and help pay their bills. They are also selling Showbags as well as bags of fairy floss and popcorn. They can deliver within 5km of Bayswater or you can pick-up. Click below on their post to find out more details on how you can help them

09.01.2022 We sure have had a lot of fun Events & Workshops over 5 years as these pics show! We really long for these days together again. Our Group is not just for mums or business women, we are for all women of all ages and diversities and thats why we have facilitated different events to cater for many over the years. Late last year we launched a Business & Social Membership Program. https://bit.ly/3frDZ8g... Due to covid and not being able to offer all of our Membership benefits we have decided to pause our Membership Program for 6 months. We also dont want to put our partners under any pressure to provide their loyalty offers straight after lockdown. We will relaunch our Membership March 1st 2021. We hope you can support and join us, and hopefully we will all be in a better place by then

09.01.2022 10 Seconds of Fame. Well that was exciting for WoW to be mentioned in Federal Parliament this morning by Gladys Liu MP

08.01.2022 Its been a tough, hard and sad winter. With tonights sunset as stunning as this, weekly back and front fence catch-up ISO drinks with neighbours Jenika, Amanda & Tracey & Di throughout lockdown, keeping us sane, and Spring this week......we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

07.01.2022 What a great initiative the Repair Cafe is, and we have one located in our Community! There is also the opportunity to start one yourself. North Balwyn Repair Cafe is a place to bring a treasured item that needs repairing and learn how to fix it yourself. It is a free, friendly meeting place. Whilst face-to-face meetups are not possible right now, they offer tips and the opportunity to learn online on their Facebook Page & Website. Click below for more details....

06.01.2022 Shannon is a local WoW and a fabulous stroke ambassador, raising awareness of the FAST message - signs of a stroke and that a stroke can happen to anyone at any age. Shannon knows this because she suffered a stroke just over 2 years ago and her husband Stewart saved her life. Stroke kills more women than breast cancer, and this week is National Stroke week. So proud of you Shannon for just how far you have come in the last 2 years rebuilding your life and for the work you do around raising awareness that this is not just a condition that affects the elderly

06.01.2022 Shout-out to Lily Loves George Cafe, we love your little sign outside your coffee window and your Extra Hot Skinny Cap. To all our local cafes doing the take-away coffees and cakes, hang in there, we hope it won't be much longer. We desperately want to sit with our girlfriends in your cafes again, enjoying a lovely lunch, having a laugh and chat and probably a cry too. Shout-out to our other locals within 5km that have served our much needed coffees Bodgo's, The Food ...Republic Cafe, Aunt Billies Cafe, Nuts About Coffee, The Peddler Cafe, Red Cup Cafe, Cafe Rubix and not forgetting the bottle shop at Kerrimur Shops Please add a shout-out tag to your local cafe within your 5km that has kept you sane with caffeine these last few months

04.01.2022 Our good friends at Just Italy have done a great job of diversifying their beautiful Italian restaurants. Theyre on the road visiting a number of suburbs across Melbourne where theyll come to your home address to give you the opportunity to fill your freezer with their freshly made pizzas, pastas and sauces! Tomorrow 6th August theyre headed to our neck of the woods, visiting Doncaster, Bulleen, Box Hill, Balwyn & Templestowe. If you live in any of these suburbs (or sur...rounds) and would like them to come to you, just head to the link below. (They will also come back to Surrey Hills/Blackburn/Box Hill on 20th August). How it works is simple: 1. Pick the date from the website link. 2. Add to cart (it wont charge you anything). 3. Complete the checkout process so the Just Italy team know where to come. 4. Before tomorrow, head to their website and take a look at their online store to decide what youd like. 5. When they arrive at your home, theyll give you a call to let you know theyve arrived. Theyll ask what youd like to purchase and take your payment over the phone. 6. Theyll pack your items and leave at your doorstep. Convenient, contactless shopping! Fill the freezer with some authentic Italian! Just Italy donated our June monthly prize last year, lets help support them https://justitaly.com.au/collections/road-trip

04.01.2022 Nice gesture for our essential workers located around Ringwood. Free coffee & cake on Thursday

03.01.2022 Thinking of all our beautiful WoWs and sending Strength, Resilience, Care & Love Its difficult, challenging, and kinda surreal in Melbourne right now. It was quite emotional & cathartic putting this short video together of some of our past Events & Workshops. WoW has always prided itself as a group of inclusion and support, all about Connection, Collaboration and Community. We are not just a group for mums or even business women. We are for women of all ages and div...ersities, and thats why we have facilitated Events & Workshops to cater for many. We love seeing women bring their mums to Events, see new friendships made, business connections come together, collaborations made and women take a leap of faith coming on their own. We have missed seeing you, and so many of us crave those get-togethers again. The last few months have been a rollercoaster like nothing we have known before, but we want you to know when we come out the other side we will be here for you. We WILL come together again and party hard like never ever before. Stay Safe & hang in there

03.01.2022 So here we are - is it Day 153 of Lockdown in Melbourne? Friday Fence Drinks. Showing off our ISO puppy, discussing is anything really going to change in a weeks time after Sundays announcement? Should we build a table on top of the fence for summer Drinks? How depleted our kids are learning online and too much screen time. How the little things are ticking everyone off. How many times have you walked out of the house forgetting your mask? We miss our family & friends.... How far do you walk for your hours exercise? You get it. Thanks for great neighbours and we need our ISO fence download. We hope you have people too you can chat to in some capacity. Stay safe, take care and hopefully we are near to the ease of some restrictions

03.01.2022 A Beautiful day for an Iso Walk along the tracks out Melbournes East. Its nice seeing people you know out walking, even if you dont recognise them till after they have gone with their masks on! We love Blacks Walk, Blackburn Lake and Cootamundra Walk. We miss being able to visit places like Westerfolds Park in Templestowe & Hays Paddock in Kew. What parks and tracks are you visiting for your 1 hours exercise?

02.01.2022 Great to see the playgrounds open again and the kids enjoying them on this beautiful Melbourne day

02.01.2022 RUOK Day. Its never been more important to ask that question today, especially to a Victorian. We can also ask AMIOK2020? (Am I Ok) because we have all had our moments and days, but in particular the last few weeks, because the restrictions and lock-down in Melbourne for months on end has really been tough. We also need to check in with our Men, how are they doing? Theres ways we can find connections outside of face-to-face. This is my husband and our neighbour across t...he road playing ISO darts via WhatsApp in their respective man-caves. One with his phone on his music stand and the other if you look carefully has rigged his mobile up next to the darts board. Love your work Guys

01.01.2022 The Lotus Flower Season begins Dec 26th. How exciting we can plan ahead now in Melbourne and visit the Yarra Valley to view these beautiful Gardens just after Christmas https://www.timeout.com//attractio/blue-lotus-water-garden
