25.01.2022 World Taekwondo day. World Taekwondo officially designated September 4 as International Taekwondo Day at the General Assembly in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam in 2006. Such a date was chosen because on this day in 1994 the International Olympic Committee officially adopted taekwondo as an Olympic discipline. This year also marks 20 years since the 2000 Olympics where Taekwondo debut as an official sport.

24.01.2022 We are excited to announce the opening of our 3rd Tans full time centre in January 2021. Tans Merrimac will be run by the Hartmann family who currently run Tans Currumbin. The new centre will be located at the Shopping Centre on Jura Pde off Goodding Drive, Merrimac. Tans Merrimac will service the central Gold Coast region. Good luck to Shane, Ben, Daniel and Jo on their new venture.

24.01.2022 Congratulations to all members who graded over the weekend. This weekend we conducted 9 x 45 min sessions to comply with our Covid safe plan. We now have 8 new black belts and some very proud instructors.

23.01.2022 Last night Chayon completed her 1st gup grading. On Sunday Chayon was unsuccessful in breaking the board. Not to give up she practised during the week and was successful last night. For those who are unaware, Chayon is partially blind and Intellectually impaired. Yet she trains in the regular class and is fully supported by the students.

22.01.2022 After 6 days we did it. Just in time, as we have rain forecast for the next week. I would personally like to thank AB for leading the build. And Pat for being on there 4 days. 11.01.2022 No classes Saturday 9 Jan Dear Members, Greater Brisbane will go into lockdown for three days to ensure the UK strain of COVID-19 is not circulating in the community.... From 6pm Friday 8 January, until 6pm Monday 11 January people in the local government areas of Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Redlands and Logan will be required to stay at home. Therefore all classes on Saturday will be cancelled. Beyond Monday At this stage we will be open Tues, Wed & Thur next week. We will monitor the situation and advise if things change. Thank you for your understanding.

05.01.2022 Congratulations to all those who attended our end of year dan grading. A total of 34 students were successful. Too many to name. Main students were Darryl Gowlett 8th dan, Leon Leppart & Claudia Tan 7th dan bo. Hapkido 4th dan, 2 x 4th dan bo, 3rd Dan, 2 x 2nd dan bo 1st dan. Taekwondo 8th Dan, 2 x 7th dan bo, 3 x 4th dan bo, 2 x 3rd dan, 2 x 3rd dan bo, 2 x 2nd dan, 15 x 2nd dan bo. ... Thank you to the examiners, Shane Hartmann, Wayne Mahoney, Ben Hartmann, Claudia Tan, Chrissie Bowie and all those who assisted in holding boards. Great effort, well deserved.
