25.01.2022 Want to join our team?? TCL is a not-for-profit organisation in Atherton Nth Qld. We support people with disabilities or mental illness in our community. We strive to provide our clients with support in an understanding, flexible and empathetic way. We are always seeking the right people to join our awesome team. Qualifications not necessary (we will train you) but the following are a must.... Essential:... Perform tasks to support the health, hygiene and general well-being of clients including personal care Assist clients to achieve their goals though individual support plans Perform a range of household tasks with clients which can range from cooking meals, cleaning, shopping to assisting with bathing Support clients to access their community and attend medical appointments More essential: Current Senior First Aid and CPR qualifications Mobile Phone Current unrestricted Manual Queensland Drivers License and a registered, comprehensively-insured vehicle A current Blue Card (working with Children) and Positive notice card (Yellow Card) Flu shot highly regarded as we are required to provide evidence of flu shot when entering aged care facilities. Most essential: A strong desire to have a positive effect on people with disabilities and mental illness, and a commitment to supporting and promoting their individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals Availability and willingness to work any day or time of the week or weekend.* Due to the nature of the support we provide, shifts can be office hours, evenings, sleepovers and/or weekends. Personal qualities reliable, trustworthy, resilient, a team player, self-confident and of course you must possess empathy Working with vulnerable people, it's important you have no health issues that will affect you carrying out duties like pushing wheel chairs or exercising. Next session at TCL is on Thursday 28th January (Online-With-Face-to-Face - All learning and theory assessment is completed online prior to attending a short face to face assessment session). $130- First Aid $60 - CPR. 14.01.2022 Thursday December 3rd is International Day of People with Disability 2020. IDPwD is celebrated each year to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions. The theme for IDPwD 2020 is Building Back Better: toward a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 World. Each year the UN announces a theme to observe for International Day of People with Disability. The annual... theme provides an overarching focus on how society can strive for inclusivity through the removal of physical, technological and attitudinal barriers for people with disability. This has been occurring since 1992 when the General Assembly announced 3 December as the International Day of Disabled Persons.
