24.01.2022 Congratulations Aldrin, Roger and Sam
23.01.2022 Many saints and Church leaders have seen a connection between Christ’s words in the Gospel for the Solemnity of Christ the King (see Matthew 25:31-43) and His p...romise to be present in the Eucharist (see Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; Luke 22:15-20). The Lord is our shepherd, as we sing in today’s Psalm. And we are to follow His lead, to imitate His example (see 1 Corinthians 1:11; Ephesians 5:1). He healed our sickness (see Luke 6:19), freed us from the prison of sin and death (see Romans 8:2,21), welcomed us who were once strangers to His covenant (see Ephesians 2:12,19). He clothed us in baptism (see Revelation 3:5; 2 Corinthians 5:3-4), and feeds us with the food and drink of His own body and blood. Let us strive to be following Him in right paths, that this kingdom might be our inheritance, that we might enter into the eternal rest promised for the people of God (see Hebrews 4:1,9-11).

22.01.2022 Sunday Mass 15 November 2020 THE LITURGY OF THE WORD First Reading Proverbs 31:10-13, 19-20, 30-31 A perfect wife - who can find her? She is far beyond the price of pearls.... Her husband's heart has confidence in her, from her he will derive no little profit. Advantage and not hurt she brings him all the days of her life. She is always busy with wool and with flax, she does her work with eager hands. She sets her hands to the distaff, her fingers grasp the spindle. She holds out her hand to the poor, she opens her arms to the needy. Charm is deceitful, and beauty empty; the woman who is wise is the one to praise. Give her a share in what her hands have worked for, and let her works tell her praises at the city gates. Responsorial Psalm Ps 127:1-5 R. Happy are those who fear the Lord. Second Reading 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6 You will not be expecting us to write anything to you, brothers, about 'times and seasons,' since you know very well that the Day of the Lord is going to come like a thief in the night. It is when people are saying, 'How quiet and peaceful it is,' that the worst suddenly happens, as suddenly as labour pains come on a pregnant woman; and there will be no way for anybody to evade it. But it is not as if you live in the dark, my brothers, for that Day to overtake you like a thief. No, you are all sons of light and sons of the day: we do not belong to the night or to darkness, so we should not go on sleeping, as everyone else does, but stay wide awake and sober. Gospel Acclamation John 15:4, 5 Alleluia, alleluia! Live in me and let me live in you, says the Lord; my branches bear much fruit. Alleluia! Gospel Matthew 25:14-15, 19-21 Jesus spoke this parable to his disciples: 'The kingdom of heaven is like a man on his way abroad who summoned his servants and entrusted his property to them. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to a third one; each in proportion to his ability. Then he set out. Now a long time after, the master of those servants came back and went through his accounts with them. The man who had received the five talents came forward bringing five more. "Sir," he said, "you entrusted me with five talents; here are five more that I have made." His master said to him, "Well done, good and faithful servant; you have shown you can be faithful in small things, I will trust you with greater; come and join in your master's happiness."'

20.01.2022 Today is the 10th Anniversary of the Canonisation of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop. Mary was a prophetess for the poor, she advocated for children and the vuln...erable, and she blazoned new ways of reaching out to those on the edge of the Church and society. Each one of us, like Saint Mary, is called to proclaim by word and deed that God is our strength. In challenging times such as these, the world needs witnesses of faith. For our part, as disciples of Jesus, we are drawn, like Mary, into the world to follow Jesus, wherever he may lead us.

19.01.2022 Sunday Mass 1 November 2020 THE LITURGY OF THE WORD First Reading Revelation 7:2-4, 9-14 I, John, saw another angel rising where the sun rises, carrying the seal of the living God; he called in a powerful voice to the four angels whose duty was to devastate land and sea, 'Wait before you do any damage on land or at sea or to the trees, until we have put the seal on the foreheads of the servants of God.' Then I heard how many were sealed: a hundred and forty-four thousand, out...Continue reading

13.01.2022 Sunday Mass 27 September 2020 THE LITURGY OF THE WORD First Reading Ezekiel 18:25-28 The word of the Lord was addressed to me as follows: 'You object, "What the Lord does is unjust." Listen, you House of Israel: is what I do unjust? Is it not what you do that is unjust? When the upright man renounces his integrity to commit sin and dies because of this, he dies because of the evil that he himself has committed. When the sinner renounces sin to become law- abiding and honest, ...Continue reading

11.01.2022 PRAYER Gracious God, You love and care for all of your children, especially the smallest and most vulnerable.... We entrust to you the lives of children and adults at risk who have been sexually abused, and whose trust and innocence have been destroyed. Help us to hear their cries of pain and to take responsibility for those whose lives have been broken. Help us to recognise the hurt felt by those wounded by abuse, and the failure to be heard. We pray that with the help of your grace communities and families will find understanding and support, so that now and in the future their wounds may be healed and they may find lasting peace. Let your grace and love fall gently now upon our children, giving them the inner strength, peace and resilience to seek out assistance when required. We ask this prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen
