25.01.2022 Returning to kind hearts, supple, strong bodies and peaceful minds. Join me Tuesday 7pm at The Coledale Community Hall for Vinyasa Flow, pranayama and meditation.

24.01.2022 Join me tonight! 7pm Coledale Community Hall for vinyasa flow, pranayama and meditation. Photo of @indiiagossmaher taken by Andie.

20.01.2022 Hello! I'd love to tell you all that yoga is back on, now that we are allowed to gather, but I am still waiting to hear from the Community Hall. The management has been taken over by another group, and they are a tad slow, to say the least, in moving things along. I hope you've all been staying fit, sane and healthy. I'm so looking forward to seeing you all again in the not too distant future. :)

17.01.2022 You like my not so subtle reminder? Tuesday 7pm. Make sure to message me if you’re not a regular student so I can monitor numbers and please BYO mat. See you soon!

17.01.2022 What Australians are really doing with all that toilet paper Join me tomorrow at 6am at Coledale Surf Club or 5.45pm @vinyasa_yoga_wollongong

14.01.2022 It’s on! Starting tomorrow at 7pm at The COLEDALE Community Hall. Vinyasa Flow and pranayama. I really can’t believe that 6 months has gone by since we stopped classes. As a thank you to all my students for being so patient I’d like to offer tomorrow’s class for free. If you’re not a regular student you’re also welcome but please message me beforehand and let me know you’re coming so I don’t exceed capacity. Lets welcome in the new season! (And please bring your own equipment)

13.01.2022 Classes at The Coledale Community Hall are resuming Tuesday September 1, 7pm Thanks to all my students for being so patient! (Still a little way to go!) I can’t wait to see you all.

13.01.2022 We can make ourselves miserable or we can make ourselves strong. The amount of effort is the same. ~ Pema Chodron Wise words from Pema Chodron. Consciously choosing not to spiral down the negative inner workings of the mind is a potent decision. That’s not to say we are always mindlessly happy, but it’s easier to feel content when we accept and experience the ebs and flows with kindness to ourselves and others, and rest in the knowledge that change is the only certainty in life. Join me on Tuesday at The Coledale Community Hall, 7pm. Vinyasa flow, pranayama and meditation. Photo of @indiiagossmaher getting back in the skate bowl. Taken by Andie.

11.01.2022 The measure of an experienced yogi has nothing to do with flexibility or how long you can hold a hand stand. It is the intention with which you practice. The awareness you hold and ability to maintain focused attention on breath and body so you can ultimately find a bit of space to sit in stillness. The ‘asana’ or physical practice draws us out of our future/past/planning/‘what’s for dinner’ brain, to just experiencing moment to moment sensation. For most of us, it’s easier to still the mind, once we have moved the body. Some need a lot of movement, others not so much. But yoga without an emphasis on pranayama, meditation and spiritual enquiry is like eating chocolate cake without the icing. Classes starting again on September 1, 7pm.

11.01.2022 Last class of the week @vinyasa_yoga_wollongong 5.45pm, come and pour a bit of life back into your cells.

10.01.2022 The ‘real’ last week of yoga is this week! Join me Tuesday 7pm at the Community Hall for intermediate/progressive and Friday 6am at the surf club for an open class. Or @vinyasa_yoga_wollongong Monday 9.45 for beginners and the weekly wind down on Friday 5.45pm I’ll be taking a break from my Coledale classes till Tuesday 21st January. Friday mornings will resume if there is enough interest. Thanks for a wonderful year everyone!

09.01.2022 Last Friday morning sunrise yoga till the next decade begins. Tomorrow 6am Coledale Surf Club

09.01.2022 Hey folks. It's yoga tonight! 7pm at the Community Hall. Now get the hell off your phones and go do something in real life!

08.01.2022 I just taught my morning class, came home to this beautiful dappled light and now await my brewing coffee. Life for now, feels good. I know there is anxiety all around but one thing I know for sure, is that every practice is more important than ever. I’ll be teaching as long as I’m not forced to close. The surf club and community classes are small, spacious and airy. We can spread out easily. I’m not offering blocks or hands on assists and bring your own mats. If you don’t have one you can buy one of my older ones for $5. There is a little garden oasis within us all if you take the time to visit. Coledale classes 7pm Tuesday @ The Community Hall and 6-7am Friday @ The Surf Club Or @vinyasa_yoga_wollongong Monday 9.45am and Friday 5.45pm

07.01.2022 You can eat all the green smoothies in the world but if you’re also consuming the self defeating thoughts of the mind, it’s not going to make you healthy. Our minds are THE most important place to start when it comes to health. Above diet and exercise, studies again and again show that those who live the longest have strong connection to family, friends and community. This connection starts within. To know and understand yourself helps you cross the bridge to know and understand others. And the practice of yoga is a wonderful place to start. Coledale Community Hall 7pm Tuesday, Coledale Surf Club 6am Friday @vinyasa_yoga_wollongong 5.45 Friday

07.01.2022 Class Update! It's a bit frustrating but I still have no access to the hall. I'm waiting on the new administration to issue invoice for bond so I can receive keys. Hopefully we won't all be in lock down again by the time it reopens! Make sure you have your own mat to practice as I won't be bringing any mats or blocks when class resumes.... I will text all my regulars when class returns. If you'd like to be included on this SMS let me know! Hope you're all well and taking some time to stay healthy and happy. x

07.01.2022 Too much anxiety around at the moment so thought I’d cheer you up! This photo was taken a decade ago at my dear friend’s party who I just celebrated her 50th with. I was actually thinking we could have family dress up competitions if we go into lock down. On a more serious note, classes are still on. Both the surf club and the Community Hall are spacious and airy. I’ve decided not to do any hands on assists just to err on the side of caution. The worst thing that can happen... is nothing at all! I’ve also got spray for the mats but I’d encourage you to bring your own. If you’ve been practicing with me for a long time and still using my shitty mats it’s probably about time you got a good one! Alternatively if you like my shitty mats, you can buy one for $5 to take home and call your own. My dad always has a sign in his office that said ‘If you can keep your head whilst all around you are loosing theirs, you just don’t understand the situation!’ However in this case, what scares me most is everyone’s heightened panic. I absolutely think we need to be proactive and vigilant but it’s really important to stay grounded and calm. So keep up your practice, come to class unless you’re unwell and remember that yoga is a fantastic way to stay active, keep your immune system strong and most importantly, keep your head calm. Coledale Community Hall 7pm Tuesday (intermediate) and Coledale Surf Club6-7am Friday (general) Also @vinyasa_yoga_wollongong Wednesday 9.45am, Friday 5.45pm See more

06.01.2022 Hey Yogis - Here's an excuse to LEAVE THE HOUSE! Alyson from the Thirroul Yoga Shala is starting a beginners course at Coledale Community Hall this Wednesday night! Alyson is a wonderful teacher and I highly recommend her. Of course I'd love you all to start with me in September, but my class isn't really suitable for absolute beginners. So jump in with Alyson and then join me in September when you have the foundational knowledge! ... My Tuesday night class starts back on Sept 1 at 7pm. Can't wait! But until then, if you or someone you know wants to start a regular practice but want the basics before you join a general class, follow this link. http://www.thirroulyogashala.com.au

03.01.2022 I’m a bit gob smacked by some of the crap being thrown around in the yoga world. Yoga in itself is a wonderful way to stay healthy but it’s not a vaccine. Nor is gargling apple cider vinegar, drinking hot water, lying in the sun, practicing in a heated studio. Yep, they can all contribute to a healthy lifestyle but if you want health advice about how to avoid contracting the virus, visit a reputable source. A virus isn’t going bypass you, based on your diet, or how much time you spend in the sun. This week I’ll be teaching at the Community Hall in Coledale on Tuesday at 7pm. You can spread out probably by at least 6-8 metres squared. And also Friday at 6am at the Surf Club. News and advice is changing by the hour so that may change. Cabinet is meeting tonight. Thanks folks!

03.01.2022 Be grateful for all your blessings so you can show compassion towards those less fortunate or who are experiencing harder times. Sometimes, especially in social media and ESPECIALLY on yoga accounts, the idea that you can achieve your dreams with a bit of inner work and a perfect handstand is perpetuated. And whilst the state of our mind determines how we view the world, it is much easier to have a favourable state of mind if you’ve also had the good fortune of being born i...nto the right circumstances. Of course there are always remarkable exceptions but this is not the norm, as all the statistics will tell you. So it is our moral obligation to work towards a society/world where we CARE beyond our own brick walls. And we realise that the happiness and well being of the entire population has direct bearings to our own happiness. That’s what I would like to see. And that’s what I’ll be continuing to work towards, one small step at a time. Happy holidays everyone! Classes this week are @vinyasa_yoga_wollongong on Monday 9.45am and Friday 5.45pm See more

03.01.2022 Classes might be cancelled but you can do yoga almost anywhere! Here is my beautiful daughter @indiiagossmaher rocking the skates. If she lets me I’ll post the video and you can see how it ends! There will be no more classes for a while. We all need to be global citizens and do what’s right for each other and our communities. It will be a tough time for many but we also have the opportunity to let our truest selves shine. Show resilience, compassion, community spirit, imagination and love, and time will pass and life will move on, in its never ending revolution of change. Sending love

02.01.2022 Tuesday nights are back! Starting again this week on the 21st, 7pm at The Community Hall in Coledale. This class is for more experienced yogis. I’ll start Friday mornings 6am on the 31st. Looking forward to seeing you all.
