25.01.2022 Our Girls Leadership Program is having great success with the addition of 'The Girl's Collective'. Our most recent speaker at The Girls Collective was Rachel Davis. Rachel is the Programs and Engagement Manager at The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award - Australia The Award is a structured youth development program which aims to empower young people between the ages of 14 to 24, supporting them in exploring their potential. Having Rachel join us was an excellent opportunity for the Girls Leadership Program participants to learn more about the Award and to understand the opportunities the program offers. The program is a great way to develop skills, get physically active, and experience new adventures. Thank you to Rachel for her insights into how our participants could benefit from the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

11.01.2022 Our Girls Leadership Program is getting better and better! We introduced ‘The Girl’s Collective’ recently where we find the most incredible speakers to chat to our girls and share inspiring stories of bravery, strength and career highlights. We were lucky enough to have Naomi Edwards in our first session for September. Naomi is a renowned theatre director, opera director and art educator. Trained at Rusden and VCA, her practice spans opera, theatre, and theatre for young aud...iences, directing for Australia’s leading theatre and opera companies. With a passion for the performing arts, she brings a diverse and bold dynamic to her audiences. Naomi directed several works across Australia, with the most exciting for our Girls Leadership Program girls’, being her role as Associate Director in #HarryPotter and the Cursed Child. This is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. Our Girl’s learned about how the art world works and how important it is to be passionate about the career you chose! Thank you Naomi, for introducing us to a world of creative opportunities.

08.01.2022 Victoria’s roadmap for reopening.

04.01.2022 There comes a time when we need to get away from the daily responsibilities and just rest and relax. This pause is essential to renew the mood, achieve well-being and prevent the collapse of physical and mental health. Although we are strong, we also need that moment of calm and serenity so that the rush is stopped and resumed later, with more vigor and self-confidence. Last week, Our Girls Leadership Program took a detour and escaped the usual routine with a fun DIY beauty s...ession with Hannah Jacobs! Hannah helped us to forget all the stress of the current state of the world (for a few hours at least) and just relax. Her beauty tips made us feel fresh, fabulous and healthy while having fun! Our Girls were encouraged to relax and engage in soulful conversations with each other. If you or someone you know would like to be involved in the Girls Leadership Program please contact the Team at YAY. Visit our website yay.org.au, email [email protected] or give us a call at 9042 1191 or 0479 015 800 #YAY
