25.01.2022 With our new rebranding, weve been getting a lot of foot traffic at our Broadmeadow site asking what we do. Weve been glad to answer any questions but it made us realise we should add another sign explaining exactly what we do here! Now, with an extra sign our transformation is finished. Thank you to Ryno Sign Design for setting up all the new signage in all the sites. They look absolutely wonderful!

25.01.2022 More than ever before television and video media are showing characters with disabilities and additional needs. While this can always be improved, these characters help pave the way a future with more visibility and inclusiveness. This is a great article that highlights a few of our favourite characters in our favourite movies and shows.

24.01.2022 Today marks the 10 year anniversary of Youth Connections Facebook Page, which was created to help document and display the material created by our Media department. Then known as YC Media our first series of posts was of a cooking competition, with later radio shows for Coastfm963, photography and videos being produced from a camper trailer. Our current media centre has grown from humble beginnings with a permanent office at Green Central, Kariong producing all of the same student content. Thank you so much for your continued support over the past 10 years! Tell us your fondest memory of Youth Connections in the last ten years?

20.01.2022 Being involved in community participation helps our participants build confidence in their social interactions while also serving others. Our CP crew at Tuggerah did just that recently, by donating their dog bowls to Animal Behaviour N.S.W. Nicole specialises in Dog and Pet Behaviour a...nd will be giving the bowls as rewards to the best behaved and most improved pooches. Its a win-win for all concerned. What a fantastic outcome! Its always great to see this happening, good job Tuggerah! You can check out Animal Behaviour NSW here: https://www.animalbehaviournsw.com.au

20.01.2022 Our term 3 Timetable for Tuggerah is available for bookings, contact Kylie via email on [email protected] today to discuss your options.

19.01.2022 Recently we caught up with Max from St Leos Catholic College who had just completed his Construction Work Placement with Companion Homes. When talking to him he had this to say: I have chosen to study Construction because of my interest in the Construction industry and am eager to learn more. I am still deciding between Construction and Electrical as a result of COVID 19 it is limiting my chances of experiencing the Electrical trade. I enjoyed my week of Work Placement and ...definitely would consider a job in the Construction industry. It did help me with studying at school. What I enjoyed the most, was the mixture of trades involved that offered me the potential to progress and learn new skills. Companion Homes, Mt Colah commenced trading in 1992 starting with a display home on the Central Coast. Specialising in new homes and renovations with the focus now on high-end homes. George, Tony & Nathan Macri are experts in their field and have been passing on their skills for many years to local High School students studying Construction as a VET course like Max. Thank you George and his team for your continued partnership with Youth Connections! Looking for a quality builder? Phone George at Companion Homes on 0412 217 029 Are you a business and would like to know more about hosting a student? Call the Work Placement Team on 4346 1111
