23.01.2022 Congratulations to YPT Alumni, former tutor and script writer of our 2021 production Naked Bunyip Dancer, Callan Purcell, who has been cast in the Australian production Hamilton Australia. From all of us here, we are so proud to have a YPT Family member in the cast of such an outstanding musical. Sending Callan and his fellow cast Chookas! We can't wait to see it!

21.01.2022 Thank you so much to everyone who attended our opening night of Children of Eden JR. We really appreciate the support of our students and our theatre. Children of Eden JR. has its final two performances today to sold out audiences. We couldn’t be prouder of our students and hope today’s audiences love the show just as much as last nights audience.

15.01.2022 BRIANNA BUDDEN as EVE Introducing our talented cast of our production of Children of Eden JR. Bookings at ypt.org.au/bookings Brianna Budden is 17 years old and has been a dedicated student of Young People’s Theatre for the past 7 years, training in Musical theatre, drama, dance and singing; as well as becoming a Tutor in 2020. Brianna has recently appeared as Millie Dillmount in ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie JR’, Munkustrap in ‘Cats Abridged’ and Marion Quade in ‘Picnic at H...anging Rock’. She will also be apart of the creative team in YPT’s upcoming production of ‘The Wizard Of Oz’. Her dedication to theatre was extended when she was selected and became apart of the Aussie All Stars team for the Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta (2019) and has now been accepted into the Advanced Diploma of Performing Arts course at ED5 International in Sydney for 2021. Brianna is thrilled to be playing the role of Eve in Children of Eden. See more

14.01.2022 JASMYN STOJKOVSKI as APHRA/DANCECAPTAIN Introducing our talented cast of our production of Children of Eden JR. Bookings at ypt.org.au/bookings As a member of the Young People’s Theatre Community for nine years, Jasmyn has been a dedicated student in both Drama and Musical Theatre classes and has recently become a YPT tutor. Her recent production appearances include, Miss Flannery in ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr.’, Miss Dora Lumley in ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’ and was cast as the Wicked Witch in the upcoming production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’. Other performance training includes work experience at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA, 2018), one of four from YPT selected into the ‘Sister Act Jr.’ Pilot Program with the Junior Theatre Festival (2018) and has extensive dance training, namely in tap.

07.01.2022 ALLIRA CARTER as CAIN Introducing our talented cast of our production of Children of Eden JR. Bookings at ypt.org.au/bookings Allira Carter has been a student at Young People's Theatre since 2018, attending both musical theatre, singing and drama classes. She has appeared in a number of shows, playing Miss Dorothy in Thoroughly Modern Millie JR (YPT 2019) and Flora/Mrs Fitzhurbert in Picnic at Hanging Rock (YPT 2020). Allira has also recently been selected to perform for the upcoming Reprise 2021, and was nominated for Encore 2021 for her musical performances during the HSC. She is very excited to be playing the role of Cain in this production of Children of Eden JR. her last junior show.

01.01.2022 We are incredibly proud of our students Sam and Zoe who have been offered an extension to their Youth Ambassadorship and have been such wonderful representatives in our community. However, CONDA will still be awarding 2 more young people the title this year to make a team of 4 youth ambassadors in 2021! This a great opportunity for our young people and we thank City of Newcastle Drama Association - CONDAs for providing this program. Applications and more details below. Closes on Monday!
