24.01.2022 Hi everyone, It's been so long since our last post! But we are doing things behind the scenes and hope to be back performing in some form or another very soon. In the meantime, here's something to cheer you up on a windy, cold August day!

22.01.2022 We haven't posted for a while, and our 2020 calendar of events will be coming out soon, but in the meantime but here's a great Benefit Concert coming up by friends and associates of Academy Singers, to support the NSW RFS: East West Echoes in the Mountains. Local and for a VERY GOOD CAUSE!

21.01.2022 OK - so Lithgow Uniting Church Parish - Hoskins Memorial, Wallerawang and Portland is not St. John's Cathedral in Brisbane, but I think we can still fill this beautiful church with sacred music and Christmas cheer. Come along tonight for 8pm - and bring your friends. See you there!

21.01.2022 We really enjoyed our evening singing carols at the lovely Lithgow Uniting Church Parish - Hoskins Memorial, Wallerawang and Portland last Sunday. A beautiful church and pretty much a full house.

18.01.2022 Very pleased to forward this news about our pianist Jane Andino, who is also part of the Canto Latino Quartet. They are playing live in Lithgow on 13th September. Could be GREAT!!

18.01.2022 Here's an extract of one of the pieces we explored at last Sunday's Community Choral Workshop.A couple of quick runs through the parts and we were ready to go "live" with Oh Radiant Dawn by James MacMillan. Thanks to all who attended to make a beautiful sound on a Sunday afternoon.

15.01.2022 So we haven't been singing, but we are all keeping in touch and we are now practicing in isolation, but together in spirit, for our next concert - fingers crossed - later in the year....... 14.01.2022 Last Sunday afternoon, Academy Singers hosted our annual Community Choral Workshop in Wentworth Falls. It was great to see so many people from other mountains choirs as well as new participants perhaps thinking about joining a choir.

09.01.2022 Music for Palm Sunday Academy Singers, directed by Paul Terracini, accompanied by Jane Andino and joined by the Kanimbla Quartet, take great pleasure in performing beautiful and evocative choral music at 3pm Sunday 5 April, at St Hilda's Anglican Church, Katoomba. The programme is delightfully varied in the choice of composers and musical styles but united in theme, conveying both the sorrow and celebration of the Easter story.

04.01.2022 Anyone who has ever sung in choirs know all too well the joy it brings not just the audiences, but also the choir members themselves. And why wouldn’t it? When we raise our voices with lots of others in a big, beautiful space, it feels like we’re altering molecules. The power, the mojo that this (relatively) small time commitment offershow is it possible? Well, according to various scientific reports, we ARE altering moleculesinside our brains, with different changes occurring whether listening to music, singing, or singing with others. So why not come along and join us on 1st March - and SING!!

01.01.2022 With great sadness, Academy Singers has decided not to go ahead with our April 5th Palm Sunday concert in light of the current COVId -19 situation. This was not a decision made easily as we all really love our Palm Sunday performances and this year we have been practicing an exceptionally beautiful selection of music. We are looking at hopefully incorporating the music into concerts later in the year. In the meantime, here is a performance by The Nordic Choir of one of the pieces we were going to perform. We wish all our patrons and regular audience members well in these current circumstances. All tickets already purchased will be refunded. Paul Terracini and Academy Singers
