13.01.2022 Last night we celebrated the Op shops 50th birthday with a few of our volunteers from the past 50 years! God is faithful. We love to serve our community in the Northcote Shopping centre.
11.01.2022 * Deaf Dog Awareness Week! * Deaf Dog Awareness Week kicked off today and just like last year we want to flood social media with the #AdoptADeafie message every... day for the next week. So thats where you come in... HOW? Please upload a photo to the Hear No Evil - Australian Deaf Dog Rescue page of you and/or your dog or cat (bonus points if they are deaf!) with a sign featuring the slogan #AdoptADeafie and we'll share them as part of our awareness campaign throughout the week and beyond! For example: Last years winning entry featuring Wilfred & Indie pictured here! Hear No Evil may be a small rescue but we ARE actively saving dogs at risk of euthanasia across the country and our awareness campaigns ARE gathering momentum. The team at Hear No Evil still get so disheartened by the misinformation we find circulating about deaf dogs. People still think there is something 'wrong' with a dog because it's deaf. There are so many myths floating around and its horrifying to think it is still quite acceptable to euthanise a deafie here in Australia, with many vets, breeders, kennel clubs and even a few rescues advocating for this archaic practice. As Australias only Deaf specific rescue, ALL our dogs (and honorary canines) are deaf or special needs - these are the animals that we hold dear in our hearts, the ones who often get overlooked or put in the 'why bother' basket, they are our passion. With YOUR help our message is finally getting out there! That marked the beginning of The Salvation Army in Australia. Since 1880 until now, we've been supporting Australians who are doing it tough. You can find us in city streets, on rural farms and in suburban centres. Our people are on the ground, day and night, bringing hope to those who need it most.

Such a total shame Please, please PLEASE do not leave stuff at the front door ! I am now soaked to the bone trying to move it all, the donation can't be used and we run the risk of being closed down by the council!! Please - if you need items picked up, call me!! A sign is now up asking to leave the thoroughfare / front door clear at all times as is an access point and that donations can be made during business hours.
