Meet our EVENTS EXECUTIVE: Smruti Mandadi Smruti came into the degree with zero idea about what to expect, so she wants to prevent incoming students from having this experience. Some of the bioinformatics subjects can be confusing and having a support network can be crucial for students, and Smruti would love to be part of that network. Q. Where would you be found when not doing Bioinformatics?... Dancing, singing, arts, cooking and tutoring Q. One skill you would like to learn? I would love to try roller skating hehe!!!!!

Meet our SECRETARY: Jason Soo Jason was always interested in biology and computing so Bioinformatics was perfect as it combined these two passions and he has enjoyed it so far. In BINFSOC Jason wants to listen to your suggestions and improve your experience. Q. Where would you be found when not doing Bioinformatics?... I like surfing (the internet) to learn about the economy and society, trying to play video games, enjoying my social life (course group chats and desperately trying to make friends at uni society events) and relaxing walks. Q. One skill you would like to learn? I would love to learn to swim so I don't drown.

Meet our HUMAN RESOURCES EXECUTIVE: Shaun Zheng In BINFSOC Shaun would like to create a supportive environment for everyone to make new friends easily and to share helpful studying tips. Q. Where would you be found when not doing Bioinformatics?... You might find me playing league or playing basketball with friends. Q. One skill you would like to learn? I would like to learn scuba diving.

Meet our DIGITAL BRANDING EXECUTIVE: Cam McMenamie Cam wants to make BINFSOC engaging and interesting to people who might be a bit newer to the bioinformatics world, through the use of media, aesthetics, and other people’s voices. Q. Where would you be found when not doing Bioinformatics?... When I'm not analysing sequences I'm either out on a run or freediving. I also spend my time reading wikipedia articles, playing around with synthesizers, and trying to use adobe illustrator. Q. One skill you would like to learn? I’d really like to learn how to weld one day. Maybe even underwater.
