24.01.2022 South Korea made the top 10 list of attractive investment destinations around the world in a report recently published by European think tank The European House-Ambrosetti. Korea ranked ninth highest among 144 nations with a score of 80.06 in the global attractiveness index (GAI). Germany topped the list for a fifth consecutive year followed by the US that scored 99.61. 19.01.2022 [NEWS - Female Entrepreneur] Sophie Kim, Founder of Seoul-based fast-growing same-day grocery delivery startup Market Kurly, was listed among the top 10 female founders in the world in July 2020. Sophie had raised the eighth-most money on the list, raking in a combined $282 million in funding since Market Kurly’s inception in 2014. There has been a boost in investment due to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak and investors realising the need for eCommerce services like Market Kur...ly. Under Sophie’s leadership, the company’s sales have grown 4x since 2015. The startup has focused on strengthening their logistics capability and installing advanced logistics systems to expand its customer base. Market Kurly can now deliver groceries to customers by 7 a.m. if customers place their orders before 11 p.m. the previous day. 14.01.2022 [NEWS] Amid COVID darkness, 2020 looks brighter for South Korea than other OECD member states. The Korean economy lifted the annual growth forecast from -1.2% to -0.8%. In any normal year, a 0.8% on-year economic contraction would have horrified Koreans, but in this year of years, it might be considered a shining triumph for the modest figure puts South Korea at the top of the OECD when it comes to annual GDP.... Under harsh IMF tutelage amid the Asian Financial Crisis, South Korea built a highly recession-proof economy and has not seen a year of negative growth since 1998; this year will be the first.
