22.01.2022 9 Aries 1 October at 2.05pm Pacific, 5.05pm Eastern, 10.05pm BST, and 2 October at 7.05am AEST Phew, how are you all going? The last few days have been rough seas and we’re not out of the storm yet. Saturn is now griding forwards while still in range of that tense square to irritable Mars, so all the internal fears you’ve been tussling with are now dragged centre stage. And speaking of Mars, the red planet has a lot of air time this week, and his current held-back energy is... ruling the Aries Full Moon. The Moon through the cardinal signs has brought tension, angst and drama in the last month, and as the Moon moves through Aries over the next few days is no different. Happening in the area of our lives that Mars has been backtracking through for the last few weeks, the themes of not new. Like pouring petrol on a fire, this Full Moon can heat up or overdramatise whatever has felt just annoying or frustrating, as emotions overtake logic and reason. Trapped resentments or hidden angst may be pulled to the surface, faster than your conscious parts can control. For those who are part of my New Moon Magic workshops, it’s time to revisit your package, set up those altars and prepare for the fire ritual. The cooling and calming Full Moon meditation is also now live for you to download. I’m making that available to all my readers as a gift we need all the caring and kindness we can get right now, huh?! Suggestions for this Full Moon include: - Asserting Your Independence - Getting Active - Purification - Cooling Practices You can read more about these and full moon ritual suggestions via

22.01.2022 Gemini Lunar Eclipse 8 Gemini - Monday, 30 November Brisbane 7.29pm, London 9.29am, Eastern 4.29am, Pacific 1.29am... The Gemini Full Moon is always heady, as the curious, social nature of this sign is lit up. However, add in an eclipse and it super-charges the mental buzz, driving our thoughts round and round like mice on a wheel. Linked to the North Node, the energy of the coming days is hungry for cerebral connection as the Gemini urge of for information turns insatiable. You may find yourself compulsively checking your phone or social feeds, making a flurry of calls or constantly using your inbox. With the Sun in Sagittarius calling for escape, you may have a weekend full of plans to socially connect in whatever way you can. Yet this mutable sign is the least grounded of all the air signs, so you may easily be distracted or head off on a tangent. I’ve entered so many rooms today thinking Now, what was I here for? as my mind had already wandered on to the next thing. If you’re feeling dispersed, here’s some tips to ground yourself: 1. Get busy with cleaning out 2. Salt baths or float tank 3. Journalling 4. Anchoring exercise 5. Breathing 6. Putting away your phone 7. Wear Amethyst or sleep with it under your pillow This eclipse is happening across the two fixed stars of Aldebran and Antares, which are both linked to the power of Mars. Use it to be strategic and ruthless in your clearing out, say no clearly and confidently to whatever does not belong. And if you must ritual, then try a ritual to Durga (slayer of Rahu). Read more via article on my website https://aliciayusuf.com/gemini-lunar-eclipse/, or download my webinar so you can understand the entire cycle of these eclipses for you, through until December 2021.

20.01.2022 It’s all Mars this week! Right now, we’re under the more beneficial beams of Venus trine Mars, as she cools his hit, fiery temper and endows him with courage for the battles ahead. Mars squares Saturn tomorrow, and we get to revisit late August and the frustrations and tensions at play then which test just how far we’ve managed to come. A spicy Full Moon in Aries starts us off on Friday (Thursday for much for the world) and it’s a chance to release and let go of old tension and get underneath what the anger is really about. Venus in Virgo rounds out the week, as her more practical energy drives us into devotion and service mode with loved ones and partnerships. Enjoy the earthy Moon in Taurus energy on Sunday, perhaps with a spot of gardening, baking or time in nature.

15.01.2022 Finding hope in dark times 23 Scorpio New Moon Brisbane 15 November, 3.07pm London 15 November, 5.07am New York 15 November, 12.07am... Los Angeles 14 November, 9.07pm As spring’s beauty withers and dies in the stronger spring sun, the flowers teach us that beauty is fleeting yet still significant. If the bloom didn’t brown and fall to the earth, the seeds of their future possibilities wouldn’t be released into the soil. Considering its Scorpio season, it’s no coincidence that I have spent the last few weekends in a spiritual process around death, rebirth and reincarnation possibilities. Delving into the immense power of this space I have learnt that not everything is reborn. The Universe is exacting in its standards, not as punishment but for practical reality. Why would it allow inhumanity to continue? It’s tainting and wasteful, when so much energy has been put into creating the better abilities of the human. This Scorpio New Moon reminds us that some seeds deserve to be upheld, to be given life after death, it’s just knowing which ones to breathe life into. Remember, not everything that is beautiful is good for us; wolfsbane and oleander contain powerful poisons and must be handled with care. Not all that considered weed is bad either; dandelion, plantain, chickweed all hold healing properties. With Scorpio’s energy, the answer lies deep within, and requires listening to your intuition. This New Moon is ruled by Mars, which is still hanging fairly still in the sky. I’ve been saying this since August when it last slowed down go slow to go fast pausing and thinking deeply holds the key to moving forwards. This New Moon burst is also linked to today’s Jupiter-Pluto conjunction, upping the intensity and purgative quality of the energy around. It’s the last of this transit, we’re done with Pluto for the rest of the year, and we can almost taste the hope of the epoch change to come. We’re still emerging from the powerful depths of 2020, it’s taking time for our eyes to adjust to the light and see just what is ahead. Perhaps reflecting on what has strengthened you this year, how challenges have taught you... Read more via link in bio

12.01.2022 This New Moon is true to Libra form in its tightrope effect, as it highlights the current challenges as well as the hope of the Venus-Jupiter trine. Libra's mediating ability to hold together apparent opposites helps us see that all hope hasn't been extinguished, but just held off or delayed a little longer as we learn at the knees of Saturn's tough teachings. It's not the usual Libran New Moon, where you cast your net wide to draw in new people and partnerships. It's more he...sitant and cautious, drawing on this year's experiences of isolation and containment to guide you towards relationships that will be fulfilling and congruent in supporting your future self. If you'd like to know more and work more deeply with this energy of this New Moon in the month ahead, join my New Moon Magic workshop. 10.01.2022 Tales from the ring: Mars opposite the Sun Today we have the midpoint of the warrior’s Retrograde cycle, and Mars is finally gaining small ground. Yes, it’s moving backward which is against its direct nature, but like a wise fighter backing away from what they aren’t ready for, Mars moves away from the harsh gaze of Saturn and Pluto towards the two benefics, the Sun and Jupiter. After a grueling round, it’s beaten and bruised but still alive to tell the tale, and seeking advi...ce in the company of allies. The Sun’s gaze illuminates, and you may gain more clarity or see the deeper truth of whatever story Mars’ recent motion has shown you. Perhaps you’ve come to grips with anger, or realised how much you hold yourself back in your fear of harming others? Understood how impulsive actions cover the fear of being trapped? Like a fighter between rounds, today is a day to pause, ruminate and dwell, especially as Mars now has the ear of Mercury also in its retrograde phase too. These two choleric planets coming together cause extra heat dryness, so look for things that bring moisture and coolness. This could be physically, with lots of water and foods like melons, cucumbers; mentally, with meditation or breathing exercises; and emotionally deliberate conscious action towards detachment and not personalising the actions or words of others. If anger rears its head, I’d suggest finding a safe space to let it out, via exercise especially or putting thoughts and words into positive action to create change in the situations that are irritating you. You can read tips on managing anger via this article I recently wrote https://bit.ly/2Sb5322. Today could also show where you are plain out fatigued. The surges of adrenaline that we used at the beginning of the year to cope with challenges have now been tapped out, and we’re scraping the bottom of the barrel. There’s also the hopelessness that comes with uncertainty when you want to put action into something, ANYTHING but what’s the point when we have no idea what tomorrow may bring. Plain, simple acceptance is the answer here, just flopping down in place and, just like this Banksy quote says If you get tired, learn to rest, not quit. Feeding your physical Mars could also look like iron or adrenal supplements, or eating foods that boost either including leafy greens, good sources of protein, organ meats (if that’s your thing) and avoiding sugar and caffeine. They seem to help bring energy in the moment but it’s like going to McDonalds and expecting to feel nourished. There are just 4 weeks to go of Mars retrograde, so rest for now and build strength to make it until the end.

10.01.2022 14 December London 4.16pm, Eastern 11.16am, Pacific 8.16am, 15 December Brisbane 2.16am. Sagittarius 23 What’s the truth behind the truth? The coming New Moon is in fact a Solar eclipse, and as such isn’t about intention setting or manifesting the new. Instead, it’s really about looking at what is true in your life now, compared to what was the Sagittarius New Moon in December last year. How far have you come? What little miracles have come on the way?... Centaur Sagittarius sends fiery arrows to the sky in search of meaning and purpose, always roaming to find new insights and have a new perspective on the truth. Yet with Jupiter in the last degrees of Capricorn and close on Saturn’s constrictive energy, the Sun’s travails through its sign this year have been dampened and the usual confidence is harder to access. In a year when we’ve all been held in place in varying degrees, the freedom to roam seems like a long-distant dream. How to find purpose in a world turned on its axis? What meaning can found in the crumbling of our social structures? Follow the burning trail of those arrows to take your vision higher, towards the stars, towards the divine. Tomorrow’s eclipse may unearth a new perspective you’ve never dreamt of before, and if you’re strongly wedded to the dreams of your past, you won’t be able to reach for the growth of tomorrow. Sagittarius strives for truth and integrity. True to the current astrology, the truth has been a hot topic of debate in recent weeks in our household. My daughter, very age-appropriately, has been dabbling with bending the truth recently and learning some hard lessons of being caught up in a gentle web of deceit. She said to me last night The truth is just so much easier Mum relieved of the burden of stress around which falsity to keep up. We are all living in an age of misinformation when social media is judge and jury, where the opinions of others are proffered as truth. If it seems the truth is harder to find, this is where critical thinking can be employed. Mercury is closely involved in this eclipse and can serve up a dose of logic so the facts aren’t based solely on supposition and what we hope or believe to be true. Yes, belief can shape our reality but we must ensure our beliefs are solid and firm for them to last the distance and then actually act from them as the Sukhraj Dhillon has said your beliefs don’t make you a better person; your behaviour does. As Mars trines this eclipse, it encourages us to act from our integrity. Years like the one just past hone and test our beliefs, shown us where false friends lie and where others have stood the test of time. Trust in what is beside you right now, the small truths and beliefs in your world. Like the Wizard of Oz, this eclipse is showing us the truth behind the truth, the person behind the mask. Wisdom comes in small understandings, not huge trumpet blasts, it’s only when you pool them all together that great leaps happen.

09.01.2022 As the Mars returns to square Saturn today, we're reminded of frustrations and obstacles we met back in late August. This article I wrote back then is just as pertinent today... "Retrograde periods tend to bring out the shadow side of the planet, and this is exacerbated with Mars as stop and backwards are not in its vocabulary. We’re already seeing signs of the less lovable characteristics of its retrograde hijinks. Impatience, self-focus, impulsiveness and uncontrollable ang...er all are the hallmarks of Mars retrograde and I’m seeing them writ large in the world right now. The warrior planet doesn’t like slowing down, or facing obstacles, and hence the feeling of irritability and frustration in the air. It’s not just the retrograde alone either, Mars is creeping ever closer towards a series of tense squares with Saturn. Thankfully it is slowing down as it does so, because you don’t want to hit that Saturn wall at full Mars speed, but it makes Mars even more intractable. Mars and Saturn are both strong in their own signs, but Saturn is direct and the overcoming planet in the square aspect, so Mars is up against the ropes during the retrograde phase. Mars can struggle and curse all he likes, but Saturn’s patience and tenacity will win out in the end." With Saturn stationing today, it has less power to act, but it still overcomes Mars in this square. Breathe, and prepare to be reminded of where you still have work to do on themes of anger, frustration, or power and control. Mars and Saturn can be a strong combination, like a well-built harness on a stallion can plough fields and drag obstacles out of our way, it’s just working out how to get them to work together. With Mars now in orb of the Capricorn threesome, it’s time for some considered thinking about how to negotiate your energy and actions during the months ahead. Read full article via See more

09.01.2022 It’s been an amazing two years of this podcast, and a dream working together with good friends and astrology colleagues Cassandra Tyndall and Kelly Surtees. We shared laughs and more serious moments along with all the astrology insights. For now, we’re taking a hiatus, to concentrate on our businesses and also our friendship, but we’ll be back in some form the future; hopefully some exciting live event once life settles into some kind of new normal. It’s been wonderful meeting so many of you through the podcast, either on here, in consult or in classes. Meanwhile, you can individually follow each of us for our continued astrology insights, and catch our last episode for our tips on the year to come!

09.01.2022 Now it's Venus's turn for a week of intensity, calling us to have the deeper conversations with those we love to weave her ideals of balance, fairness and harmony into future dealings. Recent insights may come up again as Mercury opposite Uranus for the third time, or frictions show just where change is needed. Both the Sun and Venus connect with Saturn on Thursday, right as the Moon moves through the end of Capricorn, which could bring feelings of isolation or loneliness, or show just where we are holding ourselves back. The light at the end of the tunnel arrives on Sunday, with the Sun moving into Sagittarius, expect uplift, hope and generosity, though not quite as buoyant as most years feel about now.

09.01.2022 We have a few days of quiet before heading back into the minefield as Mars squares Pluto on Friday. Before that, an insightful opposition between Mercury and Uranus May bring new perspective on where change is needed. Sunday brings an exciting trine between Venus and Uranus in the earthy signs, and then an optimistic square between the Sun and Jupiter. Keep going... hope is always just working reach x

09.01.2022 This is one of the trickiest weeks of the year, with the Sun moving through the cardinal minefield, while Mercury turns retrograde and we also have a Libra New Moon. Enjoy today's dreamy energy and make the most of Mercury and Venus' sextile tomorrow before the heavier energy enters. The key to moving forward is phone a friend and stepping into a vulnerable space.

09.01.2022 As the Sun moved into Libra late on Tuesday night, there's a shift towards Libran themes of connection, balance, fairness and equality. It also marks the Spring Equinox for us in the Southern Hemisphere, and a time when we can cast ahead to see what may unfold in the final quarter of the year. I've written a longer article, looking at the Libra Ingress chart for Canberra to get a feel for how Australia may fare in the final months ahead. Here's a snippet, and you can find m...ore via https://bit.ly/3mLhijZ, including a look at birth rate, unemployment, and public sentiment. "The Gemini Ascendant is a mutable sign, meaning this chart should last 6 months, until the Aries ingress next year. The ruler is Mercury in Libra in 5th house, showing a preoccupation with places of enjoyment and pleasure. The removal of these from our lives in recent months shows a focus as lockdown eases on how and when people come together again in theatres, parks, sports stadiums, and galleries. This Mercury is also conjunct the fixed star of Spica, which has a strong protective quality and bodes well for the prosperity and health of the country, as well as our reserves. It seems we’ve dodged the second wave bullet, with the sad exception of Melbourne, and while I don’t think the future is rosy, we are likely to fare better than other countries around the world." 08.01.2022 Mercury's retrograde has officially begun, and in the sign of Scorpio it's looking to Mars for direction... and he's also pointing backwards. So expect the usual gamut of delays, hesitancy and confusion to surface between now and November 3. And yes, it could mean that election result is likely to be delayed... think back to the 2000 Bush-Gore election to see the results a Mercury station can bring on election day. Scorpio and intensity are joined at the hip, so expect the me...ntal wheels to be spinning overtime as your mind tries to process all you've experienced over recent months. I see each Mercury retrograde phases a chance to stop and turn our mind inwards to integrate our inner and external worlds and it's an understatement to say there's a lot to digest. Like when a car gets bogged, if you keep the wheels spinning you'll only bury it further and make it harder to get out. Instead of fighting it's a time to reach out for help, or find the steadiness within you to chock up those wheels under a solid surface and try again. There is true grit and mentality tencity with this energy, just keep the barbs until it's really needed and especially don't point it at yourself. Honestly, being quieter and more withdrawn is the antidote the world needs right now, I'll be distancing myself from inflaming conversations and worrying news stories in the weeks to come. If you'd like more information about this, read this article on my website https://bit.ly/2pk0bwx and there are more Mercury Retrograde tips here https://bit.ly/2NQxe7p See more

08.01.2022 Sun trine Mars I broke my ankle when I was a teenager, and as it wasn’t diagnosed straight away I ended up in a cast for months. This was back in the bad old days, no removable casts or moon boot; just old-fashioned plaster that was itchy, smelly and hampering. You can’t keep a good Aries down, so I tried to stay active but crutches definitely kept my speed on the slower side. My usual round of athletics, netball and swimming ground to a halt and my increasing irritability me...ant I was hard to live with. Fast forward two months and finally FREEDOM as they sawed it off. While I had to be careful, at least I could get active again - I was elated and irrepressible, running around like mad. This is the energy around today, as the Sun in Sagittarius trines Mars and we get a short respite from all the Neptune haze and eclipse warp. Mars is getting back up to speed and soon enters it’s own terms in Aries, so power is coming back. All we’ve been held back from may come bursting out of the gate, and Mars can be a little hot to handle, so pull on your gloves and direct that energy into something useful. The heat of this connection will dry things out and give you the impetus and courage to push something through. Enjoy it while it lasts, as the Sun moves towards the South Node later tonight, slowly sapping energy away again. Try getting active, adventuring or putting the energy into a purge or purification to honour the energy building towards the Ketu Solar eclipse on Monday/Tuesday See more

07.01.2022 Thrilled that this has now arrived and I can say I’m now officially offering Medical Astrology consults. If you’d like more insight into your health and well being, physically temperament and ways to support your physical body, this is the perfect consult. There is a caveat that it’s for educational purposes only as I am not a medical practitioner. On a sidebar, I can’t say enough about the course and STA in general; Lee, Deb, @wadecaves and Eve bring so much practical knowledge in an easily digestible format.

05.01.2022 I had so many responses to the IG story I did about anger over the weekend and with this Mars week ahead being a potential strong trigger, here’s a deeper dive into anger, what’s underneath it anger and how we can find healing to turn this beast into something beautiful and useful. We all feel anger. It’s a normal human emotion that signals to us something is wrong; a boundary crossed, our rights violated, a threat to our wellbeing. Anger is linked into our adrenaline system,... that primary fight/flight that helps us either fight or flee a threat. Anger emboldens, gives us courage, helps us protect ourselves. And interestingly, Aries rule the adrenals in medical astrology, right where Mars is right now. So there is nothing wrong with anger itself, the problems lie in what you choose to do with it. Anger also helps us shape our sense of self, as we assert ourselves and push back against forces that try to overcome or destroy us. It encourages us to say no, to draw boundaries and exert our own will into the world. It is an important part of developing a strong sense of self just look at any 2 year old in the stage of developing autonomy to see how anger supports this. So why is anger seen as a problem? The strong message from society for most of us is anger is BAD. You shouldn’t get cross, to raise our voice or lose your temper. Who can relate to being told as a child you have a bad temper or don’t say anything if you can’t be nice or calm down. And so we hid that emotion, quietened that voice or drowned those urges, to the point where we no longer hear it. Our power to defend ourselves was taken away, and we weren’t allowed to even get angry over. Our ability to know ourselves decreased. And so a toxic cycle begins and goes on. And on. And on. Using the current Mars retrograde as a great time to get in touch with and embrace your anger for the gifts it’s can, here are some ways to work with it: 1. Embrace it, and begin to listen 2. Use anger as a guide to understanding yourself 3. Get underneath it 4. Look at family history and anger patterns 5. Process it through your body Read this article in-depth via

01.01.2022 2020 has changed us irrevocably. This final Jupiter-Pluto meeting finds us like a butterfly newly emerged from it’s chrysalis, clinging to a leaf, wings shivering in the breeze. Raw. Vulnerable. Yet also filled with anticipation of what we’ll see from this new perspective. Deep down, we know it was needed but now we feel tentative, stripped of our usual comforts and defences. With Mars now released from his retrograde cage, energy is driving forwards but with everything in ...pieces around us, it’s hard to know where to aim next. Close your eyes and imagine you have wings. Dragonfly wings, shimmering, iridescent, capable of flight both forwards and backwards. Yet for now they feel like foreign objects, as you grow used to the power and mobility they offer. The human race is meant for much better things than the mire it wallows in right now. All this energy expended on power struggles, repression, corruption, war; where has it lead us? Pluto calls us to recognise and accept the reality of our situation and start making changes, now! Accept we live in an unjust and unequal social system, built on principles of repression and greed, racism and gender inequality. Only when we see a situation clearly and remove the toxic debris can we then take steps to rebuild. I’m reminded of the end of World War II, when the fighting halted and the bombs stopped, leaving much of Europe and Asia in ruins. Removing rubble and demolishing wreckage took years of heavy work before rebuilding could happen, and it seems 2021 carries these themes. We could look to this time in history and learn some lesson, especially as we edge closer to the brave new world heralded by Jupiter and Saturn’s Grand Conjuctions changing sign from earth to air next month (more on that to come). In London, rebuilding was haphazard and ill-planned, with many of the housing estates hurriedly thrown up to house those left homeless by the bombs. Those towering tenements of the poor sat cheek-by-jowl with richer terrace suburbs, following the path of bomb blasts instead of more careful and strategic urban planning. There was often tension as community needs differed drastically, and councils struggle with complaints even now. Many are being torn down now, just 50 years after they were built. We can learn from this, especially as we come closer to the epoch change ahead. Be prepared to be rummaging through your own mess, salvaging what can be kept and ridding yourself of what no longer belongs. And keep a plan in mind for future aims, but one that aligns with high humans values as the air era coming will be calling these in. Fairness, equality, idealism, honesty, integrity; just to name a few. The future is beckoning to us, and it’s time to heed it’s trumpet call and make choices towards it so you don’t become fossilised in the past, like a dragonfly in amber. See more
