24.01.2022 This motor requires an urgent rewind so after we disassembled it we load it into our temperature controlled burnout oven to burn the varnish off the copper wires so they can be removed. The oven makes sure the stator doesnt get too hot damaging the laminations.

Today we fitted some new signs to our trailer so we can remind people as we move around that we are more than just an electrical company. 17.01.2022 Another large job just finished in our Burnie workshop. The armature was balanced, stator had an earth fault fixed, brush gear cleaned up with new brushes fitted and once assembled painted ready to be transported back to the customer.

17.01.2022 Our truck was out and about again today Delivering motors to Devonport and Launceston. Whilst in Launceston our driver picked up an excavator and brought it back to Burnie.

17.01.2022 The team at Hobart today supplied and installed a bore pump at Kettering complete with wiring in the new control box. The Polly pipe, stainless wire rope and cable laid out in the ground in the picture is connected to the new pump ready to be lowered down the bore which was 64m deep. 17.01.2022 Here is an add we ran recently in a Hobart paper. All our branches are set up to service pumps and motors to give your pump set a complete overhaul ready for the up coming irrigation season.

15.01.2022 We posted the other day showing that we had started painting the front wall of our Burnie workshop. This week it was completed and safety signs have been fitted along with a flat screen tv with all the upto date Covid-19 information. The word around the workshop is that most of the guys are starting to like the colour. It has definitely brightened up our workshop.

15.01.2022 Our Hobart branch has been busy servicing pool pumps and selling motors into the Launceston area. Today the pool pumps and motors were packed up and freighted back to the customer. 11.01.2022 Another nice neat rewind completed ready to be heated up and dipped in the morning. All our rewinds are completed with class H insulation and varnish so they can handle up to 180 degrees before breaking down.

07.01.2022 Alpha Electrics not only have 3 branches around Tasmania but we also travel to all parts of the State helping customers with onsite repairs. This was a picture that our Hobart technician sent through from a job site he was working at on the East Coast.

06.01.2022 A lot of our competitors just trickle the varnish over their rewinds but not us. We heat all our rewinds up and submerge them in varnish to make sure that get a nice thick coat for a longer lasting repair. The heat thins the varnish out so it easily flows into all the little spaces sealing them up. After the first dip we then bake it off for 6 hours and then repeat the process to get a nice build up.

06.01.2022 Thanks to Hayden Carpenter and his team at Jackson Motor Company for looking after our fleet of vehicles. Collecting this one today it was nice to see that on top of serving it they gave it a full clean up inside and out.

05.01.2022 After letting the excess varnish drip off the rewound stator is put into the oven to start the baking process. Tonight in the oven its joined by a DC armature and another little AC stator.

04.01.2022 It might be a public holiday in Hobart today but that hasn’t stopped us getting this urgent gearbox built yesterday and flown in overnight to be delivered to our customer first thing this morning.

03.01.2022 They dont build them like this anymore!! This old petrol driven welder/generator took a bit to get going today but our apprentice Jessee got it going and tested it out. The customer was very happy to have it working again.

03.01.2022 An Urgent job completed in our Burnie workshop today has been loaded up ready to be delivered back to site and installed by our team tonight. We have mechanical fitters and Electricians heading to site to complete the install so the customers employees can continue on with their normal duties.
