25.01.2022 My Granddad was a train driver all his life and loved all model gauges. He left behind a wealth of books and magazines that might make excellent reference material for any budding modelers. PM if you want, they can be mailed up if anyone would like them.

24.01.2022 In 1954 when the X class locomotives - the first of the mainline locos, arrived from England, the WAGR decided to name them all. They were given Aboriginal name...s- X 1001 Yalagonga after the Whadjuk Nyoongar leader and then the rest of the X, XA and XB classes (another 47) were given names of groups, mainly from WA. These four images show Yalagonga and three locos given the names of Nyoongar groups. Our two XAs 1402 and 1405 are named for Pilbara groups. Extra relevance as this is NAIDOC week. See more

23.01.2022 It's nearly the weekend, which means prime time ahead for a propaganda at some modelling. I for one can't wait.

23.01.2022 Kelvin has some Triang OO track for anyone who needs a quick start on their layout plans. See post below for details.

19.01.2022 I expect a 400% increase in Dingo scale buildings by year's end.

17.01.2022 We've featured some truly bonkers small scale models before. How's your eyes...?

15.01.2022 Always good to see the spotlight focus on the small scale modelling side of things. What have our page followers been up to of late? Let us know below.

15.01.2022 Chessie come home.

10.01.2022 What did your parents build for you? Is this the ultimate kids cubby? This very cool and very heavy fibreglass model train is sitting in a Brisbane backyard. ...Mitchell Smith said it was left behind the last time the property was sold and may have been from the launch of the city's new fleet of trains. "It’s a solid model, nearly full size and has controls on the inside," he said. Mitchell Smith Property - Place Estate Agent via ABC Brisbane

09.01.2022 Some photos of a Taiwan outline layout we made in China last year. Rather than walking around passengers ride on 5 inch gauge miniature trains that we also designed/helped make.

06.01.2022 We are railing! Great article from the Guardian covering Hornby and Scalextric! Have we got any combined @Scalextric and Hornby followers out there? https://www.theguardian.com//we-are-railing-britain-embrac

05.01.2022 It's black and red. So it must be a German steam loco, then?

04.01.2022 Just a quick reminder of the situation currently at AMRA WA: - This year's exhibition (2020) is cancelled, however plans for next year to proceed will get under way later in the year for June 2021. - Club rooms still currently have no opening times for use by members or the public as yet. They are currently minimally attended by one committee member at a time for security and contact purposes only.... These situations may change very soon, hopefully. Thank you everyone for your patience in not only being patient in utilising our facilities, but also putting up with the odd content for entertainment purposes on here. PS: Image yoinked from Western Australian Government Railway Memes (sorry).

03.01.2022 The club is sad to learn of the passing of Bob Phelps. A powerhouse of N scale talent and a long service in the role of AGM returning officer, Bob will leave a much missed vacuum where he stood. Rest in peace, mate.
