A live export ship with more than 5,800 cattle on board is lost in the East China Sea-as New is lost in the East China Sea-as New Zealand animal rights group SAFE calls for a suspension of the inherently dangerous live export industry for the sake of its animal and human "cargo", the search focus of NZ authorities is only for "the 43 crew who are missing with the ship".

A tree collar carelessly installed by council that denied her presence left her stranded on a narrow branch metres above the ground without food or water, her attempts to leap to surrounding, similarly-collared, branches in a desperate bid to escape impeded by fear for the safety of the baby on her back.
