25.01.2022 http:// A passion for art and adventure // Growing up, I always loved art - I drew on everything. At one point, I even painted my classmates’ Doc Martins for $2 each. But I was looking forward to leaving my small hometown for something more. When I finally did - running off to the UK after finishing my Graphic Design Degree- my journey had just begun. For 8 years I travelled the world, living in new places and backpacking across the countryside. I spent time in London, backpacked ...through Spain, Italy, France -most of EU and SE Asia I went everywhere I could before eventually ending up in Vancouver where I got a job for Emirates and then met my husband in Dubai. This was all well before Ashlee Lauren came to life, but those unforgettable adventures continued to inspire me years later. Traveling has always been an inspiration to keep creating. I create, in part, BECAUSE I traveled. It fuels my artistic expression in a beautiful way. It allows me to craft one-of-a-kind and timeless pieces for your life’s special moments. 12.01.2022 Remember this @kellienobes // A pivotal moment // When I was invited to NYFW by Fashion Palette, I was filled with a mix of excitement and defeat. As a small business, the amount of work (and money) it was going to take to get my designs on the runway seemed impossible for a lot of reasons (I had a 4 year old and 1 year old... was a big one). But, after the kindness of friends family and my community, through a kickstarter fund, and a fundraiser- I found myself living the ...impossible. I couldn’t believe it! We were going. With 2 young kids and 10 designs to make, I had NO IDEA where to start, but with the help of my now-sister-in-law, we pulled something amazing together. NYFW week was terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. It was raw and unrehearsed, yet that set us apart in the best way. Our show was artistic expression, it was what I now know to be couture. NYFW became a turning point for my business. I realised I was no longer afraid, but actually excited to show my designs to the world. Such a big, sometimes stressful, and seemingly impossible moment came together to bring Ashlee Lauren to where it is today - from a hobby to a thriving business. An experience I’ll never forget.
