20.01.2022 Play abandoned Saturday 19th December for all HKHDCA competitions. With the growing covid cluster in Sydney’s northern beaches, the HKHDCA executive have decide...d to abandoned play for Saturday 19th December. The executive has made the difficult decision in the interest of the welfare of players, coaches and parents. We believe this is a responsible approach to the health alert in helping reduce the risk of spread. We recognise a number of players either reside or have visited the Northern Beaches LGA in the past week, with the government recommending those who reside in the area to avoid unnecessary travel. Earlier today CNSW cancelled games in the NSW men’s and women’s Premier and Shire competitions, as well as postponing the NSW Youth Championship grand finals. This was based on CA’s chief medical officer’s advice of the strong possibility that the outbreak will extend to other parts of Sydney. All IDCA games scheduled for Sunday have been postponed to 31st January.

A strong win against our local rivals was a great way to kick off the second half of the season. In a close comp, we get a vital result to move into the top 4.... B Grade - WIN - 3/76 (C Perrotett 28) def WPH 75 (M Hall 3/11, J James 3/11, C Deggens 2/6) An excellent team performance showing that they are the team to beat. Undefeated so far this season! C3s - LOSS - 46 def by Syd Lions 3/47. A poor result, we expect the team to bounce back in their next match. GO THE MAGGIES!!

08.01.2022 On Sunday March 28th, Our Junior Coach Pete Daly and his son Jake will compete in the Bobbin Head Cycle Classic. This is a great cause and is a major fundraiser for Lifeline. It is a 27 kilometre ride starting 7.20am from Karuah Oval in Turramurra, up to Mt Colah, through Bobbin Head and back to Karuah Oval. You'll be back for a second coffee or just in time for a quick bite at Maggies Waitara. Feel Free to participate and join the team Magpies Cycling and wear your Magg...ies club shirt. 02.01.2022 ROUND 2 SENIOR RESULTS PHOTO - A great moment...Club Legend and secretary Jose Da Silva with his son, Oliver playing C2's together. Both scored 5 runs so there were no bragging rights at the dinner table. A Grade LOSS. Unlucky result for us, despite being ahead for large parts of the game. Congrats to Nick White who notched up his first A grade 5-wicket haul!... ARL 151 (J Simpson-Lee 58, D Rego 29) vs Kenthurst 175 (N White 5/42) B Grade WIN. An emphatic win with our youngest player John James leading the way with both bat and ball. ARL 200 (T Ragell 59, J James 58) vs Normanhurst 77 (J James 4/5, M Hall 2/11, B Goodall 2/21) C Reserve LOSS. In a stubborn contest that looked closer than it was, we were unlucky not to force a draw, getting bowled out with only 3 overs left in the days play.
