09.01.2022 Ok guys Im being constantly called by solar companies to install their systems. These companies are not even Victorian most of the time. The rates they are offering sub contractors are pathetic. They sell you systems over the phone not even seeing your house or power bills. The products they sell you are rubbish, please research brands they are installing and dont believe them if they say what you find out online is wrong. Remember if the price is too good to be true it is. Just think how hard it will be for you to get warranty honored by these cowboys especially when they are not even based in the state.

09.01.2022 We have seen advertised 6 kw solar systems for $3000. This is below our material cost and before any overheads go on top. Could only imagine panels and inverters used let alone workmanship. Just rember you get what you pay for.

09.01.2022 The 6 kw of panels with a 5 kw inverter I installed on my house will produce on average 22 kwhs per day. We use 18 kwhs per day. 37% of solar gets used in house the rest to grid. We pay on average 31 cents a kw. Solar going back to grid is 11.3 cents a kw. .31 x 18 = $5.58 a day 5.58 x 37% = $2.06 2.06 x 365 = $751.90 saving a year... 11.3 x 13.86 = $1.56 a day 1.56 x 365 = $569.40 a year 751.90 + 569.40 = 1321.30 So its a saving of $ 1,321.30 a year System cost is from $5460.00 which on these calculations would pay itself off in 4.13 years. System has warranty of 10 years and should last for double that. Solar makes sense.

08.01.2022 Surprise surprise the fedral energy minister believes that 1 in 4 solar installations are dangerous due to faulty installation. This is what happens when you have companies sub contract out all their work and pay the subcontractors very little. Why would they care how the systems are installed. Remember if the price is too good to be true then it is. Prices should be at least $1000 a kw based on the panel size.

05.01.2022 Be careful on who you get to install your solar. A customer today had his solar not working. The problem was a faulty DC circuit breaker on his roof. System was still under warranty so we explained to him to get back the installer to fix issue for no cost. He then explained he had tried this but the company, Australian Solar Lights would not come back. We then rang the company and was fed with all the excuses under the sun. In the end was told that they would not be returning. Australian Solar Lights, like so many other companies are just on sellers and there is very little that can be done because all the do is on sell the contract. Research well the company you use. ATM are the designer, installer and electrician, no other entities are involved. We may not be the chespest but remember you get what you pay for.
