19.01.2022 Attention all Steam and Rail Fans. This coming weekend The Puffing Billy Railway is operating it's 1928 built American Climax Geared Logging Locomotive Number 1694 this Saturday 3rd June. So as to entice you guys to "come on down" and witness this rare locomotive operating, Aura of the Dandenong's B&B is offering all of you a special "Climax" 16.94% discount on the one remaining room available. The minimum stay for this deal is 2 nights and can be Friday 2/6 & Saturday 3/6 O...R Saturday 3/6 & Sunday 4/6 nights The room is also available many days either side of the weekend at special weekday rates, ask us. Normal tariff would be $300 but with our 16.94% Climax Discount deal it comes out at $249 for the two nights accommodation. Climax loco not steamy enough? Well what about the Friday Night's Dining Train to Lakeside and return and the Saturday Night "Murder on the Puffing Billy Express" to Nobelius Siding and return, as well as double headed 10.30am trains Saturday & Sunday morning with an NA leading the Garratt Loco G42 as far as here at Menzies Creek. 13.01.2022 Just took this photo up at Menzies Creek Station just before the Gembrook train departed. Menzies Creek Station was renamed Aura from 1908 until 1947. The Town and Post Office never changed it's name. Go figure! Seeing the old station name AURA there in white painted rocks gave me an idea.
