17.01.2022 PLEASE SHARE even if you do not read it all yourself. ................................................................................. At the end of this year ...I have planned a 1000km walk for various charity organizations in Tasmania. I have 2 charities on board already. I am looking for businesses to sponsor me in various ways, either with products or per km or a donation. I will need a few pairs of runners (shoes) to wear during the walk also shorts, tee shirts ( good way to promote a business ) fuel for support vehicle, food and accommodation around the State. I am also looking for toy donations for a group of Childrens Homes here in Tasmania. So I guess some are wondering WHY ? As a young boy I was put into a Childrens Home by my Mother never to hear from her again. It was not a good time of my life. I remember that because I was not a Ward of The State, I received no funding from the Government for school uniforms, books, general clothes and as such was made to wear pink pants and girls boots to High School, as that was all there was to wear. I remember Holiday time when most of the kids would go somewhere, but not me. I learnt discrimination at an early age. So this year I would like to make sure every child in the same group of homes receives a special present from the CARING people of Tasmania and the world. Even if you can donate some Christmas Cards every little thing will be used and will help. I am also looking for interested people to help with the preparation for this event. Whether that help is just a contact number for someone you know may help. I can walk the 1000 km but need a little help. So if you can volunteer a bit of time or effort please let me know. As I walk around the State I am also going to set up some event nights at local hotels to help raise funds for the event. I have a few ideas but any input would be appreciated. Walking to me is my way of reflection. I walk, I think, I remember, I consider, I rethink situations, I try to find pieces of the puzzle in my mind. The kms go by. I estimate the walk will take me 25 days starting and finishing in Hobart. If you would like your town visited let me know as I am planning the route shortly.
