25.01.2022 Some very sad news in our world, as we mourn the passing of our friend, piggy ambassador & general all round good guy - Tully Tully arrived at our shelter on 30th November 2018, age indeterminate as he was found in a council 'drop box'. He was thin, almost hairless & gravelly ill. With thanks to our wonderful vets & staff we were able to pull him through and get him back on track to being a healthy robust piggy . We all fell in love and so Tully joined our 'Edupig' Team, wh...ere he faithfully served, receiving multitudes of pats, cuddles & snacks from thousands of children, that visited our Gold Coast Rehoming Centre or participated in our School Holiday Programmes & School visits. In March as a direct result of COVID-19 and our shelter no longer being open to the public we opted to adopt Tully & his girlfriend Genevieve out to one of our staff members; so that they could enjoy retirement in a loving home - sadly we were let know on Friday that Tully had succumbed to cancer. 22.01.2022 This lucky little fella, Action Jackson is going to have a guinea friend for the first time ever. He was purchased from a pet shop as a singleton & spent 5 months in a home being harassed by the family dog Since being in our care he has been desexed and will get to meet his new girlfriend tomorrow. Lovely Eve sadly lost her companion over the weekend and she can't wait to meet this spunky young man.Let's hope for a happy union.

18.01.2022 ADOPTED Cowan & Rowan are the MOST gentlemanly piggies in the world. They have impeccable manners and are cute, cuddly and ever so snuggly. Absolutely adoring their lap time, chin scratches and treats from their human friends. They are very bonded to each other and can't stand to be apart; we do however recommend that they live in a large enclosure of at least 1.2m in order for their friendship to continue to blossom. 18.01.2022 ADOPTED - YAY Oak & Luna are a bonded pair of fancy rats that have social personalities, sweet and inquisitive natures. Happy spending time with each other, both enjoy human company and will happily interact during feeding and when they are out of the cage socialising with you. Both are great ‘nesters’ - especially at night and enjoy a mix of nesting fabrics from paper to towel to soft fabric. Both Oak & Luna enjoy enrichment food being hung as stretchercise rewards and they really come alive and are active ‘explorers’ when you clean and change up the style & setting of the cage every couple of days. $40.00 for the pair. 18.01.2022 This evening 9 lovely guineas( 3 pairs and 3 single boys found new friends) and 5 ratties are settling into their new homes, with new friends and a family to call their own, hopefully all enjoying a wholesome dinner! We have also managed to have our 8 education piggies and education ratties move out of the shelter and into loving foster families until this pandemic is over. 17.01.2022 ADOPTED <3 Chomp and Oreo are a delightful young pair of undesexed males that simply adore each other. They are always together, snuggled in their 'pigloo' sharing secrets and parsley. Their ideal home would be indoors, in a cage of at least 1.2m and children would be older, as they are both just a little shy of small people and sudden movements at present. However; with time, patience, loads of calm handling & love they will soon learn that their new human friends are the best thing ever! 14.01.2022 Madeline is another victim of the unscrupulous pet-shop industry, having being sold with a male and already pregnant. This young mum and her 6 daughters have luckily found their way to us and are now ready for their own 'happily ever afters'. They are all a little shy & skittish, but with gentle handling & a soft touch they are beginning to realise that humans can be pretty cool & great friends. They are starting to take small snacks & treats from our hands. Their new homes... would need to have a large cage, filled with interesting goodies to explore & allow them time out of the cage to 'free range' on & around their person. 14.01.2022 This pretty trio are on the lookout for a loving new spacious home, as they were pretty cramped in their previous accommodations (photo attached) Tabitha, Tamara & Tameka are closely bonded and well socialised. They definitely enjoy time out of their cage; loving lap cuddles, gentle pats & yummy snacks. They do need an enclosure that is no smaller than 1.4m, so that they can stretch their legs & move around freely. This pair are now snuggled together, sharing their life stories and munching on yummy treats. They are both large, chunky piggies that would do best in a large indoor enclosure. Maud is still a little hand-shy, but with confident Lord Byron by her side she will soon learn that lap cuddles, chin scratches & treats are the very best! As an NGO charity we cannot afford to feed our 50+ piggies currently in residence; Sooo if anyone close to our Gold Coast Shelter has some homegrown spare veg or if anyone would like to drop off some veg for our piggies we and they would be ever so grateful. Also, spread the love if you can, there are another two self funded rescues on the Gold Coast, that I am sure would appreciate some help in these difficult times...
