15.01.2022 StGiles Events - Breaking NEWS ALL registrants have been emailed and offered a refund or to roll-over their registration. Singlets will be distributed at next year's event. StGiles will postpone next Friday’s Balfour Burn ‘till 2021 and cancel other events scheduled during the next six weeks including Easter Niche at the Albert Hall on April 4 and Harmony Niche at the Tramsheds March 21.... ``With our 250 Balfour Burn registrations and 100 volunteers we have no choice, as a trusted health provider to vulnerable Tasmanians, than to suspend the 2020 Balfour Burn ‘till March 19, 2021,’’ StGiles General Manager Profile and Engagement Danielle Blewett said. ``The cancellations will have devastating ramifications for our fundraising efforts. However, our work with vulnerable Tasmanians makes us very aware of the public health challenges we all now face.’’ Easter Niche was scheduled for April 4. The event usually attracts 5000 visitors and raises $15,000 for children’s disability services. The Balfour Burn was on track to raise $10,000. Harmony Niche, scheduled for the Tramsheds on March 21 was a first time collaboration between StGiles and the Migrant Resource Centre.

13.01.2022 Many of you would be aware that Balfour Burn is a major fundraiser for StGiles. As the event, and many of our other fundraising events are in recess, we're asking our followers to donate to our mid-year appeal. Details after the link:

13.01.2022 Did our roving camera catch you on the hill today? A huge thank you to all event attendees, spectators and sponsors for making today a great success!

12.01.2022 Another fantastic effort up the Balfour Burn.... This was Lochlan's second attempt - that hill can catch you out if you're not lucky!

06.01.2022 The cost of ROAD CLOSURES is the financial make or break of any public event. This year, Viatec came to StGiles rescue!! Thank you Norman Cole and the team at Viatec Launceston (Paneltec) for helping StGiles with affordable road closures. Sunday’s Balfour Burn raised $6000 for StGiles.

06.01.2022 What an inspiring family! What the world needs now! We’ve had to postpone this evening’s Balfour Burn for a year BUT the Barnett family took it upon themselves to pop on their racing singlets and have a go at Launceston’s Balfour Street. More power to Emma, recovering from recent surgery. THANK YOU!

04.01.2022 Sunday, October 18 - Balfour Burn is Back! Trybooking.com Ryan is one of a number of locals who have ventured out and tackled Balfour Street, raising funds for StGiles recently! Are you up to the challenge of the hill? Send us your videos and Strava times for us to share and keep others on their toes until we all get to run the Burn on October 18
