23.01.2022 Today we were inspired by Australian artist Peter Cromer to create our own bird collages. We looked at the basic shapes in Peter Cromers artworks to create our own water colour pieces of paper which we then cut and layered to create our own birds collages. So cute!

22.01.2022 Wonderful wall hangings created by our artists this week. We experimented with patterns in colour, lines and shapes to create these decorative delights!

22.01.2022 This week we emailed our Bowerbird students the task of making a kindness card for anyone they could send a real/videoed kind message of gratitude, thanks or well wishes to. Here is some of their gorgeous work.

21.01.2022 KOALAS! Loved having our old students back and meeting some new faces for term one. Our students created these amazing koala drawings using willow charcoal as we explored blocking, smudging highlights and tone to create some very cute koalas.

19.01.2022 Were back!! It was so good to be back teaching and creating some awesome graffiti art today with our class! We are so proud of their hard work as they experimented with different graffiti style techniques using our pencils and sharpies, including shading, shadowing letters, adding highlights and blending our colours. Well done term 3 class!

16.01.2022 Manga art! Today we explored drawing manga eyes, hair and faces, learnt how to draw a manga face in proportion and created some fantastic manga characters! So much concentration and enjoyment, well done bowerbird artists!

12.01.2022 Aussie birds! Today we were inspired by Leila Jeffreys bird portraits to create bird portraits of our own. We focused on contour lines in observational drawing and played with patterns and blending colours to create some awesome bird artworks!

04.01.2022 SNAKE collage collaboration! Today we looked at different snake patterns and scales to draw inspiration from before students made their own snake skin inspired collage. We then pieced them together to make a massive snake!

03.01.2022 Today we had lots of fun creating tropical toucans! Our bowerbird artists did a great job drawing toucans from observation and experimented with blending our oil pastels and creating colourful backgrounds for them using pump paints and plant cuttings to create stencils.
