25.01.2022 I’ve been pimping up my lunches with Bel’s amazing sauces everyday! Today’s Belicious Foods sauce of choice is Peri Peri, it took my sweet potato, rainbow chard and cumin spiced chickpeas to another level of delicious!

24.01.2022 ** Exciting News ** We have a new product range available through our Box Divvy Marketplace. A beautiful range of handmade all natural spices and condiments ... How can they be used? - The Masala mix is usually combined with coconut milk, cream, tomato paste and/or water to make a curry sauce. - The Zesty Herb & Lemon mix can be used to coat meat, poultry, seafood and vegetables before baking, grilling or frying. Or add some to your home-made Vinaigrette - The Portuguese Spice Mix is great to sprinkle of meat and seafood before B-B-Q’ing, but also to spice up a tomato-based sauce - The bottled sauces can be used as condiments, or to add flavour to sauces, casseroles and curries The tomato relish goes well with any meat, sausages, pies, or well anything really. What is different about Belicious? The spice mixes and sauces are 100% natural: they do not contain artificial colours, flavours, preservatives, fillers, thickeners, etc just herbs and spices They are hand-made to order in small batches by Chef Bel, a Portuguese-born chef in Warrawee on Sydney’s North Shore. Belicious is currently only available through farmers markets (well, they’re mostly on hold now), some online stores and selected shops on the north shore. Because the spices are freshly-ground and bottled, the flavours are intense: a 120g jar goes a long way Because they are hand-made, every batch is a little different. They also contain whole spices like star anise and bay leaves for interesting textures.

20.01.2022 The Oxheart tomatoes were so popular amongst box divvy hubs this week, that our farmer didn’t have enough to go around. So he has given us a mixture of different tomato varieties. They are so pretty and smell delicious! I love a colourful tomato salad. This Jamie Oliver recipe is divine. https://www.google.com.au//the-mothership-tomato-salad-rec

19.01.2022 Eat the Rainbow, every day!

19.01.2022 We had an abundance of red capsicums in our boxes yesterday and I’m planning on making a delicious Insalata Di peperoni arrosto (roast capsicum salad) with mine. My late Aunty used to bring this salad to every family lunch and every time I eat it I think of her. Here is a recipe similar to hers https://www.sbs.com.au//my-mothers-roast-capsicum-salad-in

18.01.2022 Cherry Season An Update from Box Divvy: Loose cherries are now expected to sell for just $24.50/Kg early next week unusually cheap for the start of the season.... We’ve also been offered excellent 2kg boxes from Boosey in Northern Victoria selling at the same price per Kg ($24.50) as regular cherries! Eat or share, or both.

17.01.2022 I have added some delicious yellow cherry tomatoes to our starting order this week, instead of the usual truss. Gino from Marcon Family Farms is giving them away at a great price as he needs to make room for the next crop. These little yellow tomatoes are so sweet and are a great colorful addition to kids lunchboxes!

17.01.2022 I love Box Divvy’s commitment to ‘genuine’ free range and pasture raised eggs ...

14.01.2022 As always, there was plenty of extras to divvy up this week for our members, All of our members who opted in for Broccoli received 1-2 extra in their boxes. Here is a recipe from my website to use up all of that extra broccoli. It is always a hit with my little ones. This is HEALTHY Friday pizza night... amplified! http://www.nourishinglolaandsage.com.au//broccoli-kale-pr/

13.01.2022 Friday fruity news! 1) We were hoping to have some early peaches and nectarines this week, but Spring has been cooler than last year so they’re a few weeks later than normal. That extra time on the tree will sweeten them up nicely though! 2) Afourer mandarins keep extending their season but this is definitely the last week... 3) Bananas are tightening up a little, but all other fruit is still plentiful 4) Strawberries have dropped to $1.90 a punnet. 5) Blueberries (way better quality this week) are still around $2.25 6) Melons are excellent eating and are likely to drop a little further in price 7) KP mangoes are now $1.74, even cheaper than then the roadside stalls where they sell for around $2 each Other tropicals pineapples, papaya and limes are still very good value!

12.01.2022 Yesterday’s Kindness Box was donated to a family who have recently become homeless. I am so grateful that our lovely hub members and community can contribute something small to those who are in need. If you are in the Hunter Valley and know someone in need or doing it tough, please reach out. We have a box available every Friday to donate. #kindnessbox

12.01.2022 I love seeing how much I have saved on our weekly groceries since using Box Divvy! This price comparison is based on the market value of similar items from the three big supermarkets (Woolworths, coles and Harris farm). What a difference to our grocery bill

12.01.2022 I am loving this great new little feature on our Box Divvy Marketplace. The green dollar signs in the top right hand corner of each item indicates which items are down in price and are a cost effective option. A great way to keep the cost down on our weekly boxes. Today is WISH LIST day for the Largs hub, mine is done and taking full advantage of the most cost effective produce

11.01.2022 We received some beautiful Eggplants in our boxes yesterday and the kids were so excited to have their favourite eggplant pizzas for dinner last night. Tip: I suggest baking the eggplant slices on both sides first before adding the toppings so the base of the eggplant is crispy https://flannerys.com.au/recipes/mini-eggplant-pizzas/

10.01.2022 Finding little friends on our Broccoli is always well received around here

10.01.2022 When lovely hub members pick fresh Bay Leaves off their tree and drop them around for the other hub members What a lovely little community we have

08.01.2022 Did you know Box Divvy isn't a fixed-size produce box system? The Box Divvy system allocates you quantities of fruit and vegetables that are proportionate to ...your household size! How clever is that? When you join a Box Divvy Hub, you enter a 'household' size. Most often this is the number of people in you household, although families with younger children may enter one or two less (we have 2 kids under 5 so ours is set as 3). You can adjust your household size from week to week so if you know you'll have more people to feed one week, you can increase it, or if you'll be cooking at home less one week, you can decrease it too! Just another way Box Divvy is making it easy for you to get fresher, cheaper, local produce! #boxdivvy #lalorpark #eatlocal #freshproduce #unsupermarket
