24.01.2022 Season Review What a season with covid restrictions causing issues, cancelled then back on for a 10 round season. First off a big thanks to all players who returned, it was a high light to see our players back on the field enjoying the opportunity to play win loose or draw. A Big call out to the U15-16 Boys for finishing the season as Premiers. U 9 Eagles as Runner ups. We also had a number of teams finsih in the top 4, U9 Hawkes, U10 Eagles U12 Eagles U15-16 Girls and Over... 30 Eagles. Also number of teams just outside the top 4 in a shorten season. Special call out to our U7 Eagles and Hawkes who always had a big smile on their faces and plenty of laughter. Thanks to the Committee Team and our ever growing volunteer base who put in lots of hours ensuring we could have a season. Dates to remember 16th of September Team Reports and awards, Club house will be open from 4pm -6pm each Wednesday for return of uniforms and traing kits. !7th October Junior and senior presntation, We hope to see you all at Presentation. 23.01.2022 Attention All Players! With numbers quickly filling again, we require any players that have not contacted the club to please do so within the next 24hrs as there will be no guarantee of a place on a team after this time. Please share this with your fellow friends and families in case they havent contacted us! Training schedules are also still being looked, though its looking like some training may be moved to a Monday/ Saturday for the first 4 weeks to comply with Covid rules.

22.01.2022 What a great start to the new season, yes it has been reduced and has been a lot of work down at the club getting this all organised, thanks to my fellow committee members and big call out to all the helpers today, but after seeing all the smiling faces of young and old out enjoying their games made the effort worth while, I managed to catch snippets of the 5 games played at home in the morning and again saw parts of 4 games in the afternoon all over Brisbane and Ipswich. Yes... we had wins, draws and losses over the 13 games played by players of BVSC but I feel though the teams that I saw win, lose or draw all had the same smile on their faces for the fact we are back playing this great game. Their are two games I saw and a game I didnt, that I would like to make a special mention of. Our U15/16 Girls for a fantastic win for a brand new team and age group we havent had for a number of seasons. Well done Girls I cannot wait to see your first home game in few weeks. The U9 Hawks who lost with only 7 players played their hearts out against a full and much bigger team, the girls and boys played great footy and finished the stronger. The last but not least is our U13s not only are they a mix of U11s and U13s they were moved into U13Div1, I was only their for the first half but wow was so impressed with the great gritty effort they put in to be only 1 down at half time, they got it back to 2 all with a few minutes to go before with no reserves they finally ran out of legs to go down 3-2, what an effort to be so competitive with a mixed aged team against a full U 13 team. A typical BVSC team effort and attitude, well done Josh and Nick you have done a great job in a short time with the squad. Thanks all for a most enjoyable Saturday watching football being played by players out enjoying themselves. John President BVSC See more

19.01.2022 Expression of interest for players between the ages of 10-13. The Club is looking at running a Player Development Program over 5 weeks The sessions will be run by Neale Smith ex Director of Coaching for the QCSA, Neale also works at the Roar Coaching team providing these sessions to Schools, FFA, and QCSA Clubs. The sessions will expose players to sessions including, 4 Skill Themes Striking the ball, (short and long passing, shooting) First Touch (receiving the ball)... 1v1 Running the ball Game Awareness- Principles of attack and defence Decesion making and Tactical Awareness Game Conditioning- Speed, agility, coordination and core strength. We require a minimum of 12 but prefer a full squad of 16, if enough interest these sessions most likely be held on a Monday afternoon/ early evening. There will be a cost incurred at $10 per session per player. The sessions run between 1.25 and 1.30 hours and are quite intense. As the QLD U21 Coach I used these sessions as my preparation for last years Nationals and they follow the National FFA curriculum. BVSC, do and have had in the past a large number of players representing West Zone and in previous years good number of players being selected for QLD from U14s up. These Sessions will be an excellent substitute for lack of representative games this year and assist budding Qlders for the following seasons. Depending on the interest I would like to extend this to other ages next season and further coaching clinics to assist our coaches in developing our players moving forward. Due to the short season we do need to know numbers as of Wednesday the 22nd to possibly commence by the 27th of July. If you are interested or require further information please see myself (John ) or simply add your child or childrens name to the list with contact details which will be available in the Club house. I believe this is a fantastic opportunity for our budding future stars of the game to gain that edge through a professional coach. Coaches we are welcome to attend and watch and take back to our club teams new ideas to continually improve the standard across our players. Regards John Wallwork President BVSC

18.01.2022 Hi all just an update on the current Covid situation in Brisbane for our players, parents / carers Both Logan United and Southen Districts Football Clubs have cancelled this weekend games due to Covid issues at the Parklands Christian College. This has only affected our Over 30s team. At this stage all others games will go ahead as per the draw. We have also received the Qld Government link and upon reviewing the attachment, the restrictions in the listed suburbs relate to v...isiting AGED CARE FACILITIES and HOSPITALS only and a notification to people who reside in these suburbs of the announcement of these restrictions. QCSA and BVSC are advising all players and members to adhere to social distancing, non attendance if you are ill, or in a high risk group. Seek testing if showing symptoms, notify and isolate as required. To our teams of Coaches and Mangers could we please review the Covid requirements in your kits to ensure all requirements of completing your attendance sheet for all players and spectators who attend your games. Adhere to all signage and directions from club officials at each ground. If you require any further hand sanitiser/ disinfect for your kits please contact the club to arrange pick up. It is understandable people will have concerns and as such if you as a player are not attending your game, please notify your manager ASAP. We will update if any further details are announced by QCSA or QLD Government which may affect this weekends draw. Enjoy your games this weekend and again please follow the Covid 19 requirements at your game locations. Regards John Wallwork President BVSC

16.01.2022 Round 2 Games To all the teams on the road for Saturday travel safe and the best of luck for your games. Home games start Friday Night with a 730pm kick off with the Over 30s first game at home, Coach James is confident combinations will be better after last weeks hit out, come along and give a cheer, Canteen will be open for hot drinks and limited hot food. Saturday we have a number of games over the day commencing with the U7 Hawkes at 9.10 for their first home game... U9 Hawkes at 9.30 on our modified field. Coach JD is hoping for a full squad this week. On Field 1 U10 Eagles at 9.30 start the day, Coach Josh is looking to build on their first up win. At 11 we have the U15/16 B Coach Mark is looking forward to a full squad to allow players to play in their preferred positions and have fresh legs off the bench. Followed by the Senior Women at 1230, Coach Shaun was quite impressed with the effort from the ladies last week which resulted in well deserved win, all the hard work during the preseason showed results. Lets go Ladies At 3 we have our U17/18 who were very unlucky in a 2-1 loss last week with no reserves, Coach Lucas said they dominated the 2nd half, simply couldnt convert their opportunities. Lucas is confident that if they show the same effort this week they are a good chance. Last game of the day the Senior Men kick off at 530, Coach John, would like to thank the 40 odd spectators who traveled with the team last week to watch a hard fought 2all draw, how great is it your the way team and you have more supporters than they do.On this weeks game Should be a tough game 2019 SM Div 1 Premiers Versus newly Promoted Div 2 Premiers Beaudesert. Over the years we have had a strong rivalry with Beaudesert and we are expecting a tough physical game. I hope people can come down or stay for the next and cheer the teams along and at the same time enjoy some great football on display. Canteen will be available all day with hot food and drinks for sale. Thanks

04.01.2022 SEASON UPDATE: We would like to take a moment to give all players and families an update on our current pending season for 2020. We are currently still in liaisons with QCSA and we are now awaiting the Prime Ministers scheduled conference for Friday May 8, where he will announce when and how community sports can start back up. This is encouraging news for our association and allows us to continue to prepare for a 2020 season, with the potential to recommence as of July 1, 202...0. Please be aware that this is dependent on the government relaxing these current restrictions. QCSA is currently working to place together a modified season, once we have further information in regards to the modified season in relation to rounds, fees, game locations etc. we will be in contact with your current team manager (or if no manager, a member of the committee will message you) and they will liaison any further information to all their players, as an added source of communication during this time, so all players will be kept in the loop other than via fb post. We would like to thank the managers in advance for their upcoming help for a potential season restart. Once things become a little clearer, we will look at holding a muster/ commitment afternoon, to clarify team numbers due to players being refunded and some players circumstances may have changed. 03.01.2022 To our sport and recreation community, This morning, you would be aware of announcements from The Premier and Queensland Health regarding new positive COVID-19 cases in Queensland and advice from the Chief Health Officer regarding community transmission. Whilst there are a number of new restrictions on gatherings that have come into effect immediately today, the Chief Health Officer has advised that at this stage, community sport can continue as long as COVID-Safe Plans are i...n place and adhered to. Yesterday, the Return to Play Advisory Group (comprised of experts and representation across sport, recreation and fitness sectors and Queensland Health) met again to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on sport and recreation in Queensland and to discuss the important role we as a sport and recreation community must play in keeping Queenslanders safe and healthy during this time. I reiterate that in accordance with health advice, any person who has visited affected locations identified by Queensland Healths contact tracinginformation page should not attend organised sport, active recreation or fitness activities until further information on the situation comes to hand. Again, we also strongly encourage organisations operating within affected locations over the coming period to consider capacity to adhere to requirements outlined within Industry plans and health advice. For any organisations within these locations Queensland Health are continuing to provide targeted advice, including avoiding unnecessary gathering and/or deferring events where appropriate. If in doubt, please liaise with your relevant State Level Organisation regarding the impacts of this advice. As mentioned above, it is very important to remember that under Stage 3 of the easing of restrictions, sport, active recreation and fitness activities and events must comply with an approved Industry COVID-Safe Plans. Approved Industry Plans restrict access to anyone who has: COVID-19 or has been in direct contact with a known case of Covid-19 within the last 14 days Flu-like symptoms or who is a high health risk (e.g. due to age or pre-existing conditions) Travelled internationally Travelled to a COVID declared hotspot. Thank you for your ongoing efforts and assistance to keep Queenslanders safe and healthy during this time and please distribute this advice to your relevant networks and members. We will keep you informed with up to date information and in the meantime, should you have any have queries or concerns on the above please contact the COVID Hotline on (07) 3330 6166 or COVID email [email protected]. 01.01.2022 A big thank you to those few people that came down to give us a hand yesterday at the club house to help prep and prepare for our 2020 season, it was very much ...appreciated by all the committee members , though we would like you all to understand that we as a committee are now very concerned with the progress of this season as with the new restrictions and requirements required by the QLD Government and QCSA we cant do it all and we are going to require help from our players and their families. We every week are going to need help with: Marking of fields potentially up to 4 fields per week, Setting up nets and removing at end of day/match Toilet facilities need to be maintained, Entry/exit points need to be monitored Canteen will require assistance with food prep, serving, to be able to operate We understand people are busy, but we are all volunteers and we are going to need your help otherwise this season isnt going to work. We ask you all to have a think about this and please let your manager or coach know if you can help us through out, as we have done a lot of behind the scenes to be able to make this season possible for everyone and due to lack of support in working bees and help around the club over the last 2 years, we are very concerned we dont have the help from our players and families to be able to continue playing. Please talk to your manager, coach or us by Wednesday please. Management committee BVSC
