14.01.2022 Today we picked the first of our beans we have been growing. Mrs Hensen showed us how to respect the plant and pick the beans gently off the vine. All of the Jarjum enjoyed tasting the beans with a variety of reactions. We then went for a walk to the office to deliver some of our beans to Mrs Patch, Felice, Mrs Mills as well as some visitors to our school who were in the office. We cannot wait for more to grow over the holidays.

10.01.2022 Child initiated mindfulness today at preschool. Some of the children were observed meditated in the cubby house so Mrs Hensen demonstrated how to sit in a quiet place and take deep breaths to calm ourselves. There was then discussions around the ‘right’ way that your fingers needed to be placed to be meditating and we decided that both ways shown could be used as there is no right way to meditate. It is simply about being one with your breath.

08.01.2022 Yesterday we went on an adventure to the big school. We got to visit the front office where we saw the principal Mrs Mills and also Mr Campbell. We learnt about the school expectations of being safe, respectful and responsible. We first had to be safe by holding onto the rope and staying together. Then we had to show respect and be quiet whilst in the office in case people were on the phone or doing special work. We then were responsible by picking up some rubbish and putting in the bin that we found along the way. We finished our walk by having a play on the equipment at the big school.
