19.01.2022 A lot of our patients are healthcare workers so I would like to share the latest statement from RANZCOG (the college that regulates, accredits & educates O&Gs in Aus & NZ) regarding CoViD-19 and pregnancy. While there is no evidence to suggest increased risks to the pregnancy, RANZCOG recommends that, where possible, pregnant health care workers be allocated to patients, and duties, that have reduced exposure to patients with, or suspected to have, COVID-19 infection. Stay ...safe everyone & reduce your risk of exposure as much as possible. Megan https://ranzcog.edu.au//covid-19-and-pregnant-health-care-

17.01.2022 PARENT GROUP CANCELLED 26th March 2020 It is with much regret we wish to inform you we will be cancelling Parent group until further notice. Due to the current situation with CoVid19 we believe the safest option for all involved is to cancel parent group indefinitely. We will keep you posted as to when this will resume. Hopefully all our parents and babies are keeping well and safe.... Take care. Megan & Amy See more

10.01.2022 Dear patients and families of our practice, We ask for your co-operation with implementing the following changes to our practice as of Monday, March 23:... Limiting numbers in waiting room. Please do not enter the waiting room if someone else is at the reception desk. Wait until they have left or taken a seat before approaching the desk. After checking in, please wait in the foyer if possible. This area is better ventilated and allows for greater distance between patients. Limiting number of people attending appointments. Please refrain from bringing a support person to your appointment unless essential. If your partner needs to be involved in a discussion or to be present for an ultrasound, he or she will be called in just for that component of the consultation. Please refrain from bringing children or elderly relatives into the practice. Observing recommendations around hygiene. Please do not enter the practice if you have any cold or flu symptoms, especially fever or cough. Hand sanitiser is available at reception and in the consultations rooms. Please try to limit the number of surfaces / objects you come into contact with in the practice to reduce your risk of exposure. Surfaces such as bench tops, door handles etc. will be disinfected several times throughout the day by our staff. Limiting staffing numbers. We will be limiting our reception numbers to a maximum of two staff per day; thank you for your patience if processes are taking longer than usual to complete. Our doctors will be performing essential consultations and procedures only, to minimise time in the practice and patient contact. Thank you for your patience and understanding at this difficult time. Please call our rooms on (07) 3180 0048 if you have any questions or concerns. Please know that we will continue to be available for you and we will be doing so in the safest possible way. Obstetric and urgent gynaecological care will not stop during this crisis. Please also refer to the Mater Mothers website for their latest information. https://matermothers.org.au/mothers-n/mater-covid-19-update

06.01.2022 FLASHBACK FRIDAY! . June 2017 Sam was rushed to the hospital at 32wks & shortly after, Dr Megan Castner delivered beautiful little Immi who was 1.3kg of pure delight. She went on to spend 44 days being looked after by the wonderful team in the NICU at the @matermothers . Immi is now almost 3.5yrs old & still lives up to the nickname she was given when she was born, Pocket Rocket. In March 2020, Immi became a Big Sister to sweet little Elle (born in Wooloongong). Sam & B...en have been through quite the journey with their little beauties, but feel so blessed & are forever grateful to have had such wonderful care with the team here & over at the Mater Mothers. We loved being apart of that journey & look forward to watching your beautiful little fam grow & change over the years to come. Thank you for letting us share your wonderful story. . #castnermellor #samsquires #matermothersnicu #prembabes #pocketrocketimmi #castnermellorbabies See more

We know how valuable these meet ups are for so many of you, so we will still be hosting parents group on Thursday.
