15.01.2022 Well the first chance for the new council to do what they promised they would do and listen to the community and they failed. During the election the most popular candidate by far was Duncan Gair with approximately 20% of the community voting for him or his team. So did the new councillors listen to you the voters they did not and voted into the Mayor position a person that only recieved approximately 7% of the votes and only with preferences. It looks like we have another council voting 5 to 4. You have to ask what deals have been done.

12.01.2022 Young and old are out supporting the Community Connect Group today at the various election polling booths like this young future star. Love the sales pitch "Hi there, vote for Steve Horton if I could vote I'd vote for him".
09.01.2022 Over the past few days at the pre polling booths we are getting to speak to many people who are expressing their concerns for some very serious issues that need to be fixed! The price of rates in The Southern Highlands is one topic a lot of people are understandably concerned about. Community Connect Group team member June Newman is focused on addressing this issue. Make sure you speak with her about how you feel about rates and other issues as she will be located in various sites for pre-polling. 02.01.2022 Hello to everyone that support our election into the Wingecarribee Shire Council. The final results have been listed and we did not get elected, the following people have been elected to council: Duncan Gair Graham Mc Laughlin Gordon Markwart Ken Halstead... Larry Whipper Ian Scandrett Garry Turland Peter Nelson Grahame Andrews One of the commitments that we made during our campaign was to seek a more transparent council for our area. We will be working with the elected councillors to ensure that we know what our rates are being spent on and how it benfits our community. Steven Horton for Community Connect Group
