17.01.2022 What a hoot this night is going to be

17.01.2022 One of the joys Kayak club people have is the view while paddling . A river, inlet ,estuary or little bit of ocean ,the constantly changing vista and the light reflecting images off water, adventure and discovery . Little wonder photography seems to be a strong second to paddling old and new waterways . This is the time of year family and visitors have left us in Denmark free to resume our regular club paddles Wednesday afternoon 5pm launching Rivermouth boat ramp ......up t...he river if the wind is up or out on the Wilsons Inlet if it is one of those balmy nights we enjoy often . We can get you started with a loaned canoe if you think Kayaking might be for you ,all you need is moderate fitness ,good mobility and strength ,with your own transport .. Monthly we have a meeting at the Riverside Club and work out the Sunday paddles often with a twist of social. Typically 10am Sunday, for example Frankland River launch at Nornalup bridge paddle up to Monastery Landing for morning tea then return (2hrs) then lunch in the garden at Tingles Bakehouse . The Sunday paddles are in quiet water, typically in rivers and inlets from Walpole to Kalgan River with occasional expeditions to Bremer Bay or Donnelly River etc If you have a sense of awe for the natural beauty that surrounds us here and want to get out into it regularly to exercise, photograph and share company, try the Riverside Kayak Club (Brendan Parker 0438321442 to talk about possibilities} See more

17.01.2022 Wintery paddle Despite threatening wind and rain, it didn't stop a trio of paddlers enjoying the Denmark river and marvelling at a lot of bird life. The recent rains seem to have encouraged some new feathery friends to come out and share the river with the trio. Very quiet all round and well worth leaving the warmer conditions at home! Bring on the rain!

16.01.2022 Lucky devils we are to live in this great place. Been a while since we wet our kayaks but we're back on water and ready to face 2020 with more watery adventures. Few pics from todays outing up the Denmark river and back. Brendan nearly got knocked out of his kayak by a tarzan swinging boy on a long rope who we hope didn't seen Brendan before he launched off the river bank. 10/10 for staying afloat... 1/10 for dropping the paddle!!!

16.01.2022 Rabbit Island and beyond The awesome foursome and some randam dragon slayer headed out of the rivermouth to explore the awesome inlet. Great paddle. Missed the rain and the wind and got home safely. Poor old Pelican seeing his time out on the side of the river bank was sad, but he seemed chipper.....not Blue Wren Lodge for him!! Pretty special place we live.

15.01.2022 Hay to the Inlet A few scruvy scavengers left the river to explore the inlet but due to a lack of water they didn't get too far before getting stuck in the sand and mud. Not to be deterred on their Sunday morning paddle, they headed in-land to see some of the popular kayak stops. Many eagles and pelicans joined them and brightened up a slightly grey day. He's to much water falling out of the sky to fill up the inlet so they can start being adventurous again.

13.01.2022 Hay Almighty What a morning for the kayakers as they paddled up the mighty Hay, The usual amazing birdlife and company. Wayne retired early due to a shoulder injury but the rest carried on to see how far they could go. Fallen logs hidden in the river caused some to get edgy but everyone stayed in their kayaks. Bruno had trouble with his skirt.... no correspondence will be entered into because he is a lawyer) and it was nice to welcome along a dragon slayer in his new orange kayak. Here's to many more. Anyone interested in joining us contact our Prez, Ian Carter at Carters Real Estate on 0427409500

13.01.2022 The Denmark kayakers proved they can have just as much fun on land as they do on the water. Last night two teams entered the Riverside Trivia night and the "Kissable Kayakers Team 2" took home the trophy. Well done to all. Big thanks to Shaun at the club for doing what you do so well!!!!

08.01.2022 A sultry day to go in search of the Denmark weir. Kayakers get all the good gigs!

07.01.2022 The Denmark river was a treat to paddle on with a few paddlers heading off to the weir as wind conditions on the inlet meant they may never have got back to base if they had ventured out. It was put simply "awesome'. The mother of all pelicans lay in wait for us showing what power they have to get into the air. A few stragglers were found at the weir to join the merry band. Great company, great weather and great times out at one with nature.

06.01.2022 All the way to the weir and back With many away or simply working hard, two little kayakers ventured up the river to the weir and were rewarded to see plenty of water flowing through. The usual birdlife delighted the twosome and as they paddled past the club house they joined their scaly mates, the Dragon boaters who were celebrating the world champions, Mo, Elsie and Jake. The kayak club salute our amazing medal winners, awesome effort which reaped fantastic rewards on the world stage. Till we paddle again.

04.01.2022 Winter joy It may be the beginning of winter but the weather gods were certainly trying to confuse everyone down in Denmark. A glorious inlet and river created much joy for club members who had earlier been working on their Motown Night. A big welcome back to the PARKERS who have been missed greatly. Looking forward to some rain to allow the kayakers to go further up stream.

04.01.2022 Motown transport..... if you are coming to the Motown Night on Saturday at the Riverside Club, Denmark Tours and Charters is offering a collect and drop off service for $20. Contact David Wolter on 0427 482 400 to reserve your seat.

03.01.2022 Misty and magical With a messy looking weather forecast, a few kayakers headed out into the inlet to experience some magical waters. Welcome back to Wayne who has been enjoying the family on the East Coast. You never know what you are going to see when you get out there into the inlet. They saved a hen bird from an osprey who had eyed it up for its lunch, they got stuck on the bottom (thanks Wayne for showing how it can be done) and despite getting wet, it didn’t dampen enthusiasm. Everything was a beautiful shimmering grey. What a special place we live.

01.01.2022 Moody waters in Denmark???? Spectacular and inspirational!!!! We have so much fun on the water, you'd better join in to experience it. Contact the secretary for more details on 0448441 957 https://eur02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/
