13.01.2022 DFA has had the pleasure of delivering our Train The Trainer Course to the Royal Brunei Gurkha Reserve Unit over the past 2 months. The Gurkhas are an elite force of Nepalese Soldiers stationed in Brunei to protect the Sultan, his family as well as critical infrastructure. Dave, Jim and I were fortunate enough to be invited as guests of honour to the GRU Officers Mess by Major Shree Bura and Captain Khagendra Rai followed by a traditional Gurkha meal and gift presentation.... The hospitality and friendship shown by these men has been unbelievable. We sincerely thank each and every one of them for contributing to a very enjoyable and successful program.

10.01.2022 Proud day today for DFA CEO Mick Goodwin and Director of Training Dave Wright being invited to give evidence to the Parliamentary Joint Law Enforcement Committee’s inquiry into the establishment of an Australian Standard for Security and Detection Dogs in Parliament House, Canberra. DFA’s representations to the Federal Government has been recognised with the establishment of this Parliamentary Inquiry which will see the introduction of an Australian Standard in the near future.

02.01.2022 It is with great sadness that DFA acknowledges the sudden passing of the Acting Director of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary's Police Dog Unit, Senior Inspector Leuth Nidung. Leuth was instrumental in facilitating the successful training and development of the RPNGC Dogs and Handlers for the Australia Papua New Guinea Policing Partnership's preparation for the 2018 APEC Summit in Port Moresby. Following the APEC Summit, Leuth significantly assisted DFA's collaboration ...with the AFP in facilitating the ongoing training and development of the RPNGC Dog Unit which has ultimately provided his country with an invaluable law enforcement resource. DFA wishes to express our sincere condolences to Leuth's family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time. RIP Senior Inspector Leuth Nidung. A fine and dedicated policeman.
