24.01.2022 Rode the first part from Mendooran to Ballimore today. Started at the bakery and rode the (or one of) off road alternative to the 22k of bitumen to Brennan’s tr...ail. I rode Brennan’s Trail to Ballimore a couple of weeks ago, https://www.facebook.com/112661913792022/posts/150029200055293/?extid=KzyJFOY8ON8BLKp1&d=n and this one joined up the dots. After doing these 2 sections, my bike choice for the whole of the Central West Cycle Trail would be a hardtail MTB with minimum 2.2 tyres. Obviously if you haven’t got a Choice then the bike you have will be fine as this is only my opinion. I rode Roscoe today, a hardtail MTB plus with 2.8 tyres, I managed to ride through all of the water without clipping out, still got a little wheel spin but basically the thinner the tyres equates to a corresponding degree of muddy feet, not life threatening, but uncomfortable. Disregard the last little bit on Relive, I just needed to pick up Brennan’s Trail, I didn’t stop the Garmin till I got back to the main road, which I rode back on. As far as mobile reception goes, I sent myself a text every couple of Ks and worked fine but this of course will be dependant on your phone and plan. Mine is a iPhone 8s with the country tick on Telstra. Check out Mendooran off road option to Brennan’s Trail. on Relive! https://www.relive.cc/view/vZqNPL2Bo3O Mick.

24.01.2022 Following on from the successful working bee on the weekend to get Mugga in a raceable condition the decision has been made to resume mid-week racing at Mugga H...ill next Wednesday 18th November. So this Wednesday we will be back at Dundullimal again. This gives our hardworking and very busy handicapper time to work out some handicaps for Mugga Hill and will also give time for the trail repair work to settle in and the loose grass to move to the sides of the trails. 24.01.2022 In case you missed it there is a new mtb trail to go explore over at Orange. Always good to see continued expansion of mtb trails in our region. On that note Dubbo MTB Club is working on a small expansion of one of our own tracks, more details to come soon!!

17.01.2022 Day 4 of 6 on the CWCT. Dunedoo to Mendooran via Cobbora Station for morning tea. 62k. Another cracking day on the trail, it seems the more water, gravel and gnarl, the better.

16.01.2022 This looks awesome! Well done Mudgee.

15.01.2022 Might give this a go

14.01.2022 What's coming up for Dubbo MTB.....plenty, so here's a quick summary of what's on in the coming week... On this Sunday the next 2 hour race of the Dubbo Land Ro...ver Super Series will be on at Homestead, Geurie. Race start at 9am, Rego from 8.30am. See event page for more deets. Word is that the trails are mint and perfect for a race! Monday night at 6.30pm at the South Dubbo Tavern function room will be the next Club Meeting. There's a lot going on behind the scenes at the moment, come along and have your say with the club. All club members or parents of members welcome! Wednesday evening we will be back at Dundullimal for our next mid week race of the Dubbo Land Rover Super Series. We've been getting great numbers to the races so come along and see what everyone has been enjoying! Sunday the 8th November the club is looking to hold a working bee at Mugga Hill to repair some priority sections damaged in recent wet weather. The aim will be to bring the trail back to a raceable and generally more enjoyable condition. We won't get the full trail open as the bit near the highway will take a long term solution but we have some plans to try and weather proof the rest to be able to keep the trail open more often. To get through the amount of work needed we are going to need all hands on deck. So if you are keen to be back racing at Mugga Hill or you just ride the trails recreationally we'd encourage you to come to this working bee! An event page will be created once arrangements are finalised, so keep an eye out for that one!

12.01.2022 Trail Update! Due to the current weather, as you could imagine the trails are closed for the next few days! The signs are up at Dundullimal and will go up at M...ugga tomorrow! We will review on Wednesday but feel that with rain forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday the trails will be still too wet for Wednesday night racing. But we keep you updated! The trails will certainly dry out quicker at this time of year than they would have through winter. So hopefully we can remove the Trails Closed signage late Friday for the weekend! We do have the 2nd of our 2hr races on this weekend on Sunday at our Homestead trail out at Guerie. We Will be inspecting the trail later in the week and will keep you updated! Til next post..... Keep Ridin..... on the Tarmac!

10.01.2022 Wednesday is MTB day. Racing this afternoon at Dundullimal. Rego from 5.30pm, Dirtmasters ride at 5.45pm. Juniors and Seniors race at 6.00pm.

09.01.2022 Super Series 20/21! Its one week to kick off, we are prepped, our sponsors are on board, thanks to Darrell Wheeler Cycles, The Bike Shoppe, Aquawest Pumping & I...rrigation Specialists, Robertsons Tyrepower, Platinum Electricians, Russo's Coffee Bar, West Dubbo and our title sponors Dubbo LAND ROVER . A big thanks to Robertson's Motorcycles Dubbo who have kept the clubs whipper snippers and equipment in working order, we have a couple of trails ready to go. We will be kicking off at Dundullimal next wednesday evening, with the Dirtmasters from 5:45 and then with the Seniors and Juniors in the usual graded handicap format. If you haven't raced with us before more detail to come, but the club races a Series over the dyalight sving period that comprises 20 short format races (wednesday evenings) and 7 long format races on Sunday every 3 - 4 weeks. Essentially we have the Super Series, best results from a selection of the short and long races and the Super Short Series for those that can only make the wednesday evenings. So if you haven't raced with us before or its been a while and you haven't got a handicap just turn and we will sort you out. We are running with a new manage handicap system this year with an easier to understand points tally. We have our first long format 2 hour the following Sunday the 11th, so still plenty of time to do some last minute cramming of the training. Don't forget if you are after some of the DubboMTB club kit we have our clothing shop portal open on the Dhuez Clothing website. Follow the links through Custom Kit and My Club Portal and log in using DubboMTB as the password. Til next time........... Keep Ridin!

08.01.2022 Predicted to be so dry tomorrow you will need one of these. Dubbo Track racing at Dubbo Regional Cycling Complex Tuesday, starting 6:30pm. Program caters for tiny tots through to new seniors, right up to some of the fastest cyclists going around in A grade. BBQ will be operating.

08.01.2022 Dundullimal Trail Open! We have just carried out a trail inspection at Dundullimal and it has dried out unbelievably fast and so we have taken the steps to remo...ve the trail closed signs to give everyone a trail to ride. Pending no more rain between now and Wednesday evening we will be racing as usual from 5:45 with the Dirtmasters. We will be inspecting Mugga tomorrow, but until it will remain closed, the same goes for all Guerie trails. Til next..... Keep Ridin dundy!

07.01.2022 Hi all, if there are any cyclists interested in being a part of this Sunday’s event, we’d love to have you involved as there will be people looking to swim & run! FREE entry for U18yrs!

07.01.2022 ECONOMIC CYCLE BOOSTS MENDOORAN - With a steady flow of cyclists riding the 400km Central West Cycle trail, Mendooran and other localities have benefited econ...omically over the last month and a half On Monday Mike McDonald of Sydney and 5 others landed into Mendooran from Dunedoo. They were booked into the local hotel, purchased food for both the evening and the next day. Unlike those travelling through in vehicles they do not have an Esky load of food at hand so spend in the local towns along the way. The Hair on the Dog hotel at Ballimore reports at least 2 or so groups staying each week, and Mendooran seemed more heavily booked with no closeby towns. For those wanting accommodation the advice is book ahead, especially for the smaller towns. So without a cent of taxpayer money, simply the resources of the Mudgee Bushwalking and Bike Riders Club Inc and that of volunteers a budding new industry has started in the Central West, and putting money into the local economy. Given the big distances everyone can stay distanced with a bit of care. David Allworth See more

02.01.2022 Trail Status! Further to Neil’s post! Please give the trails time to dry, we have been to Mugga this morning and as you can imagine it we have standing water in... numerous locations! We will be addressing some drainage quickly today, but it will take time to dry and with possible further storms the drying period will get longer without direct sunlight! Cheers in advance for being respectful!

01.01.2022 Off again on a 6 day jaunt around the CWCT with a compliment of 7. Dubbo to Wellington today, bit of a headwind but nice and cool and the gravel roads dried re...markably quickly after yesterday’s rain. Steve Crompton suffered a bit today as his plan came unstuck. Steve is with his wife Chris who is on an E bike, plan was that when Chris flagged out and got in the van, Steve would jump on the E bike, problem was that Chris didn’t flag out and rode the whole 63k.
