It’s been a tough 8 weeks or so, but together we are pulling through. Mental health, however is on the rise. Awareness, Love, Support and Care, is needed more than ever. ... Hey family, friends and those afar! Please support me in my cause to raise much needed funds for an incredible charity that does an amazing job in providing for the less fortunate, and most importantly the most vulnerable, CHILDREN. For those who know me well know how attached I am to my hair. It's been 15 years since I decided to grow the lock (dreadlocks). That’s 15 years of rocking many different styles from the Dread Bub, Fishtail, ponytail, dread plait and many more styles. Some even describe me as the great warrior Samson (from the Bible). Hence, it’s been a big part of my identity. But the decision to shave off my hair comes with a full heart and immense passion to utilise this opportunity to give back and help those in need, especially after the year we have had. Did you know that one in six children in Australia live in disadvantaged circumstances? An organisation called the Sixth Child is dedicated to improving the lives of children everywhere through direct, hands-on projects that deliver educational tools, support service and social justice. Some children are struggling without the most basic of human needs: a safe home, food and clothing. Others are denied any fair opportunity because they cannot afford books, computers, musical instruments or sporting equipments that would allow them to participate fully in their education and development. - If you find the statistics unacceptable or horrifying for a developed country like Australia, please show your support for The Sixth Child.
