22.01.2022 Look. I'm not a huge people person. I like *my* people. But I also like the comfort of my own company. Whenever I describe myself as an introvert, a lot of people look at me funny. I present as a confident and social person but this is within reason. And my threshold is limiting at times. They also have nooo idea that I've learnt quite well how to mask my anxieties and just survive the moment. Small doses of socialising fill my cup right up and then it kinda overflows. And ...keeps me content for a long while. Spending time with good people is a form of self-care in some ways. But so is watching countless episodes of Law and Order SVU. So, ya know. Variety is the spice of life. I hate harping on about it, but I did a lot of personal growth during the pandemic lockdowns. I experienced a really sobering look at myself and faced some inner demons I had been purposely ignoring. I'm still a work in progress as this journey has only just begun, but I've never felt more comfortable in my own company. I'm learning so much about how my brain works and how I'm hard wired. Today was a day where I was stoked to be working from home with minimal contact with the outside world. Sometimes people are just the worst, and you need to just stay in your bubble and get through the day. I only had enough in the tank for myself. Especially for a Monday. And that's okay.

19.01.2022 Ah, my old mate Morphie. Time is fleeting, friends. It's one or the main drivers behind my anxiety. The thought of time passing so fast makes me flip out. I can't believe this handsome boy will be eight this year (in July!) And with age, comes aches and pains. Morphie has shown signs of being a little slower on his feet for a while. So he got a good old once over at the vets today and the word arthritis was thrown around. Yeesh. But we are going to start taking some anti in...flammatories and started a series of injections to make things better for his knees. The thought of my boy getting older makes me really fucking upset. It keeps me up at night and has been the trigger for some of my anxiety driven panic attacks. I often think about the day he will pass over the rainbow bridge and cry my fucking eyes out. But I try to rationalise and tell myself we have plenty of time together. I'm so grateful for such an amazing mate with a gazillion names. We're alright. How can we not be? Look at that smile. Love ya, Mr. Gums.

In fact, it's been so incredibly rewarding, and it's only been a full month in operation! Because of the gazillion podcasts I listen to, I've been familiar with the Patreon platform for years. 17.01.2022 Lockdown life has felt like ground hog day. The restrictions have been important to reduce case numbers, but sometimes its hard to focus on the bigger picture. September will mark six months working from home and restricting my movements significantly. My car battery went dead recently because I hadnt driven it in forever. And it still has a full tank of gas! Im grateful my home is safe, my business is growing and that I can go for regular walks with my pugs. 13.01.2022 Im being accountable. Todays #iwokeuplikethis mood wasnt great. Im not gonna lie. It was just a day of feeling less than average - where my clothes didnt fit properly, I felt completely depleted whilst aimlessly pottering around the house. Just like anyone, I have mountains of washing I could fold and put away, floors to clean and rubbish to sort. But I didnt do any of that. Sure, I feel guilty for it. 04.01.2022 ... , , ... Ive recently shared sneak peeks of some upcoming #halloween products. The response has been so amazing already! I had originally planned a branding shoot this month. Ive been hanging for it. Creating with others is such a magical experience. Initial stage 4 lockdown measures saw this to be postponed. After todays announcement it wont be a plausible option before the spooky season hits. Bummer. Home shoots it is! ... Todays update wasnt a shock to me. It involves a lot of gradual steps I assumed would be applicable. We cant run out of this lockdown, and as much as it the steady approach is what needs to be done in the hope that we can have a somewhat Christmas. Im hoping to after digesting todays news and reschedule the shoot again in preparation for Christmas. I can hear Mariah singing already... Big virtual hugs to the rest of Melbz feeling the sting of this long and tiresome journey.

I decided a little while ago that just because we cant go anywhere, it doesnt mean we should avoid taking time off. A staycation is just as important as sitting in the sun in Bali, albeit not as fun. I always have things to do, but Im #peachykeen to turn off my alarms, go through my... to watch list, make some cool shit and try not to feel guilty for slowing down a little.
