25.01.2022 What a awesome day fishing on the reef, one of them days when every goes to plan, the fish are the hungry and the sharks are absent, we fished inshore on some isolated rocks for a few nanny’s in the morning then ran out into the deeper water to chase some more nanny’s and red emperor, let’s just say the red emperor fishing was pretty red hot, we caught 17 for the day but only 6 legal reds so they rest went back and a bunch of nice nanny’s for the guests as well, a few coral trout and some big trevallys as well for a bit of variety, the 3 guests got the GBR Grand slam (coral trout, large mouth nannygai and a red emperor) which topped the day off, back out there tomorrow on the hunt

25.01.2022 Back out there again today and it’s been pretty tough fishing the last few days but we picked them off slowly to get some nice fish for the guests, the wind is coming down towards the end of the week and we will be able to get back out in the deep water where we want to be fishing chasing some bigger model fish, regardless of the weather conditions it’s always great to be out on the water catching fish

24.01.2022 Nice dog tooth tuna we caught today jigging in 20 meters of water

24.01.2022 New video I put together of a Few Giant Trevally for the boys from Melbourne, Check it out

23.01.2022 This one was funny day, watch and laugh

23.01.2022 What a awesome day accompanied by glass out weather for the boys, we have a group of 4 on for 4 days and our first day today was spent shark fishing with a bit of reef fishing while waiting for the sharks to bite, it didnt take long to hook the first one on our standard coral trout bait and it was game on, we released 3 nice bull sharks for the day and caught a bunch of coral trout and large mouth Nannygai in between sharks to keep the boys occupied, they have opted for GT popper fishing tomorrow so we get to punish them again

23.01.2022 A few baby crayfish we caught by hand and released after a quick photo, they hang around the side of the jetty we park our boat on, if only they were another 3kg bigger

23.01.2022 What an awesome days fishing for our guests, we were treated to some great weather finally and some great fishing to go with it, with perfect conditions we decided to put the time and effort in today to just chase nannygai and after a pretty slow start in the morning and a shift of location we found the hungry ones and it was game on for the rest of the day, we put some nice nannygai, coral trout, red emperor and a fat cod on the deck to finish of the day just nicely, back out there again tomorrow on the hunt and we still have 3 spots available if your keen to join the action

23.01.2022 0 knots and dead calm, should be a nice days fishing on the Great Barrier Reef

23.01.2022 We have been out the last few days fishing up in shallow waters while the wind has been up and down and managed to get stuck into some good numbers out coral trout for the guests, it’s been patchy fishing but once we find them it’s been game on for us, back out there tomorrow and hopefully there hungry

22.01.2022 We had 2 of our regular clients back out chasing GTs for the last 2 days, these boys were up here 3 weeks ago fishing with us and are suckers for punishment, We had a tough day yesterday but had plenty of shots at them and lost a real nice boat side, We pushed through the slack tides today missing 5 before lunch and then changed location to our old faithful spot, we caught 2 nice ones, a red bass from a pack attack of 20 odd fish and lost another 2 GTs to finish the day off, the boys are back in January to settle the score

22.01.2022 A nice day on the water today with some nice fish caught for our private charter guests, we went and got stuck into some large mouth Nannygai and finished the day with a few trout, looks like some awesome weather for the whole week so if your keen to get stuck while the weather and fishing is good then give us a call

22.01.2022 We took the boys out popper fishing for GTs today and although pretty quiet for the conditions we still managed to catch a couple GTs and a nice Spanish mackerel which crash tackled a stickbait and pulled a few jumps, back out tomorrow bottom fishing and weather is looking prime

22.01.2022 A good day but a tough day popper fishing with Ethan and don today, we had the rubber hooks syndrome most the day but we caught 2 from 6 with the other one being sharked in 9 metres of water beside the boat and a big red bass and a mackerel on the stickbaits as well to finish the day, couldn’t of asked for better weather to do it in SHIMANO Australia Fishing

22.01.2022 If there was one thing I loved it was GT fishing, Never caught many my self and always wished I was the one hooked up on charter but nothing made me happier than putting our guests onto big arse fish

22.01.2022 Its that time of the year for the beast, Service the motors and gearboxs (done every 100 hours but my as well do them while the boats out), new decals, anti foul the boat, cut and polish and general maintenance, we will be back in the water Friday and hoping that the winds come down so we can get back out fishing Powercat Marine SHIMANO Australia Fishing Simrad Yachting Undertow Saltwater Apparel Savwinch Drum Winches #powercat #shimano #simrad #undertow #savwinch

20.01.2022 If there was one thing we loved it was putting people onto quality fish and giving them the time of their life, I think we nailed it

20.01.2022 We headed out wide with a few mates today for a relaxation charter and have a bit of fun and its safe to say we got stuck into some quality fish, we bashed around out in 60-70 metres and caught some thumping red emperor and got railed by some unstoppables, after putting a few in the esky we went and chased some robinson sea bream on a few marks that usually produce some nice ones and put some quality robbos on the deck, finished the day up with few coral trout for the boys and called it a day and headed for home, another awesome day on the reef fishing with some nice weather to go with it

19.01.2022 It’s been awhile since the wind has allowed us to get out on the reef fishing, the boys wanted to chase large mouth nannygai and red emperor and we didn’t disappoint them, we put some quality fish on the deck through the day and got stuck into a bunch of trevally for some fun, the winds back up now and for how long is anyone’s guess, hopefully not long so we can get back out there amongst it #ifindemyouwindem #filletandrelease

18.01.2022 The weather is perfect today and the fish are hungry

18.01.2022 We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at GBR Sport Fishing Charters, we would also like to thank everyone for your support and for fishing with us this year, we couldn’t do it with out you drive safe, stay safe, relax and have fun

17.01.2022 The deckie having some fun on a nice cranky bull shark from todays shark fishing charter, coral trout being the goto bait for the day

17.01.2022 The new set of boat rods arrived today thanks to my main man Leroy at Shimano, our old rods which are exactly the same have caught a few thousand fish between them over the past 4 years and we havent broken a rod, a guide or had any issues with them, the only reason we are replacing them is the foam grips are worn out on the old ones, if thats not a testament to quality rods I dont know what is, heres to another for 4 years of the guests thrashing the hell out of them SHIMANO Australia Fishing

17.01.2022 The weather is still perfect and the fish are still biting, we headed up to shark country today to test our luck against them and see what was biting and first drop and we kicked the day off with some nice nanny’s, it was patchy fishing but we ended with a nice esky of fish for the boys for there efforts and only a few sharkings on some smaller model fish, another nice day on the Great Barrier Reef

16.01.2022 Some nice weather and a flat calm ocean made for some good fishing yesterday, no big runs on fish but we picked them off through out the day to get everyone some fish for the table, including one awesome coloured blue spot/footballer trout and one drinker of a titan trigger fish, weather looks like it’s back up for the weekend then hopefully we can back into it the start of the week

16.01.2022 Throw back to when I took a mate of mine jonathan sterckz to dive a inshore wreck in 28 metres off cairns and he nails a absolute cracker of a diamond trevally off the bottom after his 8th dive, some serious breath holding skills

16.01.2022 Been a tough few days fishing with the fish not biting and the sharks giving us absolute hell again, lost over 15 nannygai out in the deep water today to sharks but still came home with a feed for the guests, here’s few pics from the last 2 charters, hopefully tomorrow we can avoid the taxman and put some quality fish on the deck

16.01.2022 I changed my mind last year and I wasn’t going to sell but it’s back on the market, It’s time to step away and focus on the family and my other business

15.01.2022 Another glamour day today and we spent it popper fishing for Giant Trevally, the boys kicked it off with a Spanish mackerel off the surface straight up and then we plugged away at the GTs, we caught 3 and seen plenty and finished it up with one on the buzzer, back out there tomorrow shark fishing which shouldnt be to hard

15.01.2022 Another awesome days fishing on the reef today, we fished inshore on some wonky holes and small rocks and picked off some nice large mouth Nannygai, red emperor and coral trout, great weather out there and looks to continue for the next few days, throwing poppers for GTs tomorrow and conditions look prime for that as well

15.01.2022 We have spots available for this Sunday (8th) on our Shared Reef Fishing Charter!!! They are $280 per person which includes, lunch, soft drinks, water and tackle. We leave at 7am and return back around 3pm! Give us a call or msg on 0476207528

15.01.2022 Glamour weather and great fishing for our sole charter guests today, with the perfect conditions we put the time in today and chased nannys for most the day and then spent the last few hours picking off some coral trout for them to mix it up, we also scored a real nice pennant fish which we dont see a lot of out on the reef, hard to beat days like today, how was your Monday?

15.01.2022 Few pics from the last few days of fishing before we took some time off till the new year, we want to thank everyone that has fished with us this year, its been a pleasure and looking forward to next years adventures

14.01.2022 A cracker of a Pennant Fish we caught today, Awesome colours on these fish

13.01.2022 Had some clients out today fishing thats come out every year with us, we chased largemouth Nannygai all day and started off pretty slow until about lunch time and then we got stuck into some nice ones, still reasonable weather out there and looks to get better towards the weekend, fishing the next 16 days straight so we should get stuck into some good fish over the next few weeks

13.01.2022 What a awesome day out on the reef bottom fishing, with the last 5 days being reef closure we were itching to get back bottom fishing and today didn’t disappoint, we chased trout in the morning and nailed some nice ones till lunch time then it was time to chase some large mouth nannygai, it didn’t take long to get them chewing and then it was game on for the rest of the day, we landed some absolute crackers and lost a few good ones but ended the day on a high, plenty of quality fish today for guests with everyone getting in on the action, back out there again tomorrow and hopefully straight back into them SHIMANO Australia Fishing

13.01.2022 The deckie having some fun on a nice cranky bull shark from today’s shark fishing charter, coral trout being the goto bait for the day

13.01.2022 Well its been months since we have had weather this good and it was great to be back out on the water getting stuck into them, with our transducer dying on the way out it was blind fishing off the GPS all day but we caught plenty and made the most of it

13.01.2022 Its been awhile since the wind has allowed us to get out on the reef fishing, the boys wanted to chase large mouth nannygai and red emperor and we didnt disappoint them, we put some quality fish on the deck through the day and got stuck into a bunch of trevally for some fun, the winds back up now and for how long is anyones guess, hopefully not long so we can get back out there amongst it #ifindemyouwindem #filletandrelease

13.01.2022 Take advantage of this beautiful weather We have the boat available tomorrow give us a call on 0476207528 or msg on Facebook to get out there!

12.01.2022 Awesome weather today and some great fishing to go with it, we got stuck into the nannys early and were pretty consistent through out the day with some nice ones being caught, we even caught and released a mud crab in 40 metres of water which was pretty random and a sea snake which was released as well, back out tomorrow on the hunt and the good streak of weather looks to continue

12.01.2022 It’s that time of the year for the beast, Service the motors and gearbox’s (done every 100 hours but my as well do them while the boats out), new decals, anti foul the boat, cut and polish and general maintenance, we will be back in the water Friday and hoping that the winds come down so we can get back out fishing Powercat Marine SHIMANO Australia Fishing Simrad Yachting Undertow Saltwater Apparel Savwinch Drum Winches #powercat #shimano #simrad #undertow #savwinch

11.01.2022 Man and machine, the beast that takes us to the battle grounds

11.01.2022 Nice start to the morning

11.01.2022 We backed it up again today with no sounder due to transducer issues, awesome weather and great fishing again makes for happy days, we got stuck into the trout and ended up with a few Nannygai for the esky, back out there tomorrow for round 3 and then the wind is up to its usual tricks and blowing a gale

10.01.2022 It’s pretty nice out here today

10.01.2022 Great days fishing out the reef with the wind coming down nicely by mid morning, great crew and the fish were hungry which made for great day all round, full noise now for the next fortnight so hopefully the weather plays the game and the fish stay hungry

10.01.2022 We backed it up again today in perfect conditions for our guests, took us a bit to find some hungry Nannygai but when we found a lively school it was game on, we put some nice ones on the deck and got dusted by our fair share as well, finally good weather and great fishing

10.01.2022 We took the boys out popper fishing for GT’s today and although pretty quiet for the conditions we still managed to catch a couple GT’s and a nice Spanish mackerel which crash tackled a stickbait and pulled a few jumps, back out tomorrow bottom fishing and weather is looking prime

10.01.2022 I had Deano and Rick our yesterday on a private charter and chased coral trout all day and put 14 trout in the esky for them, with the boys back out again today the plan was chase quality not quantity and the target species was some big large mouth nannygai, we stuck it out all day inshore fishing wonky holes and small isolated rocks in the raging current and put some nice ones on the deck for the boys despite the hard fishing conditions, mission complete and game on again tomorrow SHIMANO Australia Fishing

09.01.2022 Few nannygai from the last trip, been a bit rough for us to venture out there the last few days with the winds blowing 20+ knots and a few storms to go with it and it looks like there could be a few more days of it to come, keen to get back out there amongst it that’s for sure

09.01.2022 One of the days I’ve never laughed so hard

09.01.2022 We have one spot left for tomorrow If you want to get out there give us a call on 0476207528 or fb msg!

09.01.2022 3rd consecutive day for the boys and we put them on some nice fish today while bottom fishing again with some nice fish caught by all, we pulled some thumping size nannys, coral trout and red emperor to fill the esky for the boys to fly home with, back out there tomorrow for there last day and heading out wide to do some light tackle fishing and see what we can catch

09.01.2022 Some nice refreshing rain out on the reef today

08.01.2022 Well it’s more than great to be back out there fishing after nearly 2 months of 20+ knot winds and not being able to get any of our guests out there fishing during that time, we ran north this morning only to be met with a cranking westerly wind in the morning so we packed up and ran to the east 20km and were met with some perfect flat conditions, we started off slow but got the ball rolling with plenty of trout for the day, some chaotic red bass action including a 4 way hook up on some nice ones in the shallows, we stuck it out with the trout and came home with the esky half full and plenty of trout for the guests despite the filthy green water conditions, back out there tomorrow deep dropping in 200-400 metres and looking forward to see what we can’t rattle up out in the deep stuff SHIMANO Australia Fishing

07.01.2022 Glamour conditions on the Great Barrier Reef this morning

07.01.2022 Tony with a cracker of a GT he caught throwing poppers with us, 120cm Beast that give us the run around in 6 metres of water

07.01.2022 Pretty slow fish again today amongst the perfect weather but we put the ones that count on the deck for the guests, one pretty special nannygai in the mix for Gary who has a terminal illness and wanted one good large mouth nannygai to make his year and we ticked it off with another nice 1 one for him to seal the deal, also good to see the Cobia have turned up and should be a common catch over the next few months, no shark interference as well which is always a welcome, back out there tomorrow chasing the nannygai while the weather is kind to us, happy days and game on SHIMANO Australia Fishing

06.01.2022 We put most of the day in chasing nannygai on the inshore grounds while the winds were down but they wouldn’t play the game for us, the winds came up mid morning and sent us in the shallows for the rest of the day, we picked of a few bits and pieces and put a few fish in the esky for the guests to take home, tomorrow’s another day and hopefully there a bit more hungry

06.01.2022 Perfect conditions today, Time to throw some poppers and tango with some Giant Trevally

06.01.2022 First day back bottom fishing after reef closure and despite the average conditions we put some nice fish on the deck for the guests including one absolute cracker of a Bar Cheek Coral Trout, the largemouth were shutdown but we got a few of them in the end for the esky

06.01.2022 Some good fishing on yesterday’s charter with the boys getting stuck into some nice size Nannygai, although we didn’t get the numbers we were after we made up for in quality, they shutdown around lunchtime and wouldn’t play the game so we went and tried to pick a few trout off for the rest of the day, then finished a great day off with a minor mechanical issue in the way of a spun prop and having to limp the last 15km home, luckily the boys brang a few extra beers

06.01.2022 Some good fishing on yesterdays charter with the boys getting stuck into some nice size Nannygai, although we didnt get the numbers we were after we made up for in quality, they shutdown around lunchtime and wouldnt play the game so we went and tried to pick a few trout off for the rest of the day, then finished a great day off with a minor mechanical issue in the way of a spun prop and having to limp the last 15km home, luckily the boys brang a few extra beers

06.01.2022 We backed it up again today with another awesome days fishing on the mighty Great Barrier Reef, we decided to just chase large mouth nannygai all day and put in a solid effort and we reaped the rewards with some cracker fish hitting the deck all day, with most of the guests never having caught them before it’s always special to put them onto some nice ones and plenty of them, and you couldn’t ask for any better weather to be out there fishing, back at it again tomorrow and hoping the fish are still firing SHIMANO Australia Fishing

06.01.2022 * All spots are now filled* We have 0 spot available for Sunday, the weather is going to be perfect and the fish are firing, get in quick before you miss out, give us a call on 0476207528 to get out there amongst them with us

06.01.2022 Bit a slows days fishing but we caught some quality fish for the boys for dinner, super flat ocean and raging current make it tricky but we got the job done in the end, the large mouth nannygai wouldnt come on the chew and were tricky to get the bites but we got a few in the end, tomorrow looks to be glamour weather again so back out we go to get amongst it SHIMANO Australia Fishing

05.01.2022 Back in action and finally some good weather for a change, we spent the day popper fishing for Giant Trevally and the boys nailed them, First time they have chased them and pretty sure they got the GT big now, there back in November for round 2, back out tomorrow reef fishing and looking forward to getting amongst some reef fish

03.01.2022 What GBR Sport Fishing Charters was all about

02.01.2022 Feeding the Giant Trevallys at Michaelmas Sand Cay

02.01.2022 Well it’s been months since we have had weather this good and it was great to be back out on the water getting stuck into them, with our transducer dying on the way out it was blind fishing off the GPS all day but we caught plenty and made the most of it

02.01.2022 We stuck it out today and just chased strictly large mouth nannygai, and once again on some new ground we got a absolute hammering off the sharks for most the day we kept bouncing our marks till we could get a few up with out any interference from the taxman and ended up putting some nice mid range models on the deck, the current and wind made the last part of the day a bit difficult with the nannygai not willing to play the game, instead we stretched the arms on plenty of bludger trevally before time was up, back out there again tomorrow on the hunt SHIMANO Australia Fishing

01.01.2022 Today was one of them days where we really wanted to catch the fish we missed the bites on, but we got the job done and ticked off a few giant trevally for tommy, I had to check his bag for bananas after some pretty wild surface takes beside the boat that should of been but he didn’t have shit we could put the blame on so it went onto me, but that’s fishing ladies and gentlemen, still a good day and mission complete, back out there tomorrow chasing the infamous large mouth nannygai all day, we are due for some big models that’s for sure SHIMANO Australia Fishing

01.01.2022 We had 2 of our regular clients back out chasing GT’s for the last 2 days, these boys were up here 3 weeks ago fishing with us and are suckers for punishment, We had a tough day yesterday but had plenty of shots at them and lost a real nice boat side, We pushed through the slack tides today missing 5 before lunch and then changed location to our old faithful spot, we caught 2 nice ones, a red bass from a pack attack of 20 odd fish and lost another 2 GT’s to finish the day off, the boys are back in January to settle the score
