25.01.2022 Hi Everyone! The Hub is reopening on the 26th of October! We are really excited to be able to offer this again to all of you and we really hope that as many of you as possible will be able to come back and join in on the fun! ... There will be some further information coming out about this over the next few weeks. Most importantly our hub location will change when we reopen as we need to offer a COVID safe space. Our new hub will be based in Boronia. If anyone would like more info or has any questions please comment below or send us a message. 24.01.2022 We are very lucky to have some incredible and highly dedicated staff on our team here at Glady and Co. I wanted to share with you a fundraising activity one of our participants and their support worker are completing next month. Jo is a highly regarded Support Worker here at Glady and Co. She is going to participate in a 60km walk with one of her participants to raise funds for mental health. It’s fantastic to see the positive impact providing supports can have on someone’s ...life! Jo I wish you and your participant all the best! Message from Jo. A participant and I have entered the Melbourne Beyond Blue Coastrek and will be walking 60km on Friday 21 May. This isn't just a walk in the park it involves a training regime that my participant has worked out, where we are climbing unforgiving hills, ascending hundreds of stairs, pushing through bush tracks and stomping through soft sand along with some sessions at the gym. We are taking on this challenge to raise funds for Beyond Blue to support mental health in Australia. We will be doing the trek along with two friends of my participant. Each team has the aim of raising $2,000. Direct support will continue until the support worker or participant needs to self-isolate A safety questionnaire will be completed prior to all direct support work to ascertain risk If the support worker is unwell or needing to isolate, we will negotiate with the participant direct support from another worker or providing phone or internet support from their current support worker Gloves, hand sanitiser and masks can be utilised when necessary Emergency Relief Parcel some basic food and sanitary items for participants that are struggling Glady and Co staff will not attend appointments if unwell or after recent contact with anyone who is unwell Hub Centres group support Will be closed from 30/03/2020 to 30/04/2020, we will be sending communication regularly regarding reopening Online groups starting on 6/04/2020 (art, music, craft, peer support and mental health OT groups) Our phone line 1300 866 474 will be monitored 9-5pm every weekday Indirect Phone or Online Support New Isolation Care Package - includes daily contact, shopping and tailored care package delivery, as needed support (only actioned when quarantined or in self-isolation) New Online Group Package - $85 per group session plus start-up fee for materials, timetable to be sent out soon New On Call Support Package prices to be advised (support worker on call over phone or online) Normal support hours available over phone or online as required by participants Regular SMS and email updates for participants, referrers and support staff Support Coordination Support Coordination will continue with indirect contact unless urgent We are expanding our Support Coordination team to include North, North East, South, South East, Central Victoria, Inner and Outer East Melbourne Employment Glady and Co are currently employing more staff in Support Work and Support Coordination, we will have capacity for all participant needs and are open for referrals Regular SMS messages will start on Monday 30/03/2020 and a qualified Mental Health Occupational Therapist will be contacting all participants individually to offer support and ensure that everyone has strategies they can use to cope with the current situation. 22.01.2022 Hi all! Just a reminder for everyone that the Hub is closed from 30/03 to 30/04 at this time. We are setting up online groups and should have further information for you through the coming week. Also, we have rolled out our new 'Isolation Care Package' for anyone with NDIS funding. This includes daily phone or internet support, tailored care package delivery weekly and access to the Glady and Co Facebook VIP group. This package is only actioned when someone is completely isol...ating and will finish as soon as requested. We have a mental health Occupational Therapist on hand who will be contacting every single participant from Monday to discuss what you might be needing and giving you some support. 21.01.2022 Hello everyone! I know we are going through some scary times and it can feel like we are alone in this. I wanted to get online to let you know that you are definitely not without support and all the staff at Glady and Co are working overtime to make sure we are providing everything we can during this lockdown period. We will continue to provide direct support if people are comfortable with this but will follow all guidelines around safety.... We will also be updating our online group program and providing some new and exciting groups! We will be supporting people to follow the guidelines and so some of the things you might have previously done with your support workers will change due to restrictions. You might also find that some of support appointments may need to be cancelled. This will be due to us trying to keep you as safe as possible. Glady and Co will not send any staff member to you if they are unwell and we are providing financial support to our workers to ensure that they do not attend when a risk to you. 19.01.2022 Hi all, Glady and Co now have a complete working plan for the challenges ahead with Covid-19, we are committed to continuing support in the safest way possible and ensuring that none of our participants go without. What we can foresee:... - Our participants needing to self isolate for periods of time - Our staff needing to self isolate for periods of time - These difficulties may continue for longer than expected - Our participants and staff struggling to find food, self care products and medication while self isolated - SRS accommodation going into shut down/lock down with our participants unable to leave What we have planned: - Employing more staff to support our participants - Compulsory hygiene practices for all staff providing support work - Cleaning/hygiene routines in Hubs, put in place and followed stringently - Emergency Action Plans for all participants and staff in preparation for isolation periods - A range of options for indirect support when face to face support is not possible - An emergency Isolation Care Package for all Hub participants who cannot attend their regular groups Although some supports will change during times of isolation, Glady and Co will continue to provide our services and support everyone in our Glady and Co Community. We can technically open from 21/6 but I really want to make sure that you are as safe as you can be and so I would like to watch what happens in that first week. When you all come back we will have some changes to what we do weekly so we can still maintain some personal space for you all and we'd like to still continue with online groups for those tha...t can't make it in. 17.01.2022 In 2018 Glady&Co started with one worker and a hand-full of participants. Today we are a community of 67 staff and over 300 participants. I’m proud we kept supports going through COVID when many others closed. Our new Hub in Boronia is open and buzzing. 15.01.2022 UPDATE Glady and Co are extremely excited to let everyone know that we are expanding! We've been asked to bring our services to Central Victoria and a Hub will be opening up at 383 High Street Bendigo on 10th of March 2020! We will be offering outreach support, allied health and group/drop in services.... More exciting news for us all in Eastern Melbourne is that we will be opening a new Hub in Boronia, opening date to be confirmed but possibly in March, at 166 Boronia Rd Boronia! Also, our new allied health team are really kicking off with their fantastic social work. They will be available to support people with assessments and reports specifically made for NDIS reviews and planning meetings. 15.01.2022 Hi everyone, We have some updates to our Group/Hub calendar. This calendar is running as of this week until early March when we will have a few more exciting additions to the program.

15.01.2022 Hi all, Glady and Co are working hard on a plan of action around the impact that Covid-19 will have on our participants, staff and community. We work with very vulnerable people who will potentially be impacted more than the general population due to being unable to attend the shops easily, shortage of support workers, having reduced immune systems and having their informal supports reduced by quarantines. We will ensure that Glady and Co are continuing to support our partici...pants by finding new ways to do so which will include: - Providing care packages for those that are struggling to find the basic necessities. We have ordered toilet paper, long life milk and other items for these packages and will be ready to start providing these soon. - Creating emergency action plans with all our participants to plan for times they might be quarantined or their support worker becomes quarantined. - Finding ways for our participants to attend groups from the comfort of their homes when needed. - Providing support workers to those that cannot attend group programs. - Helping our participants to access supports remotely through phone and internet if they are forced to isolate. We will continue to run our Hubs with all safety measures supplied. Participants will have access to: - Hand sanitizer and masks if this makes them feel more secure. - Hand sanitizer in each support workers car. - Support workers will have access to face masks and will wear them if requested. It is vitally important that Glady and Co continue to support our participants as safely as possible for as long as possible, and that we are proactively ensuring that everyone receives timely information. All staff will: - Not attend shifts if unwell. We will ensure that any staff members that are unable to be in the community due to self quarantining are provided with some type of work if well enough to do so. - Take all safety measures to protect our participants. Over the coming weeks Glady and Co will be: - Providing updates on our website and Facebook page. - Meeting with all our staff to provide them with information and clear instructions. - Developing plans with all participants to support them if they are unwell or impacted by the virus. 14.01.2022 Recently, a worker rang their Participant to say they couldn’t make that day’s appointment but forgot to tell Glady&Co. The Participant really needed a fill-in and eventually got on to a Leader who was free and filled in. From next Monday all our workers will call our 1300 866 474 line, not you. That way a Leader can let you know and check how you are and if you need an emergency worker. Improving how we support you! Glady

12.01.2022 Happy Monday everyone! Last week we had our fundraising activity to support Neura to raise funds for mental health research. We have surpassed our fundraising target reaching $1219.21 of donations so far. Our fundraiser will continue till the end of October so please check it out if you haven't already. ... We also gave away some prizes for our staff and participants who showed up with some pretty amazing hair do's. Thank you again to everyone who joined in.

12.01.2022 Hi all, It's come to our attention over the last couple of weeks that a lot of people are struggling to make healthy meals for themselves. Some of our participants usually have their support workers help them to shop and cook food, this has been difficult to continue when the person has needed to isolate themselves and can't continue this stuff as normal. It's also really risky going shopping and it often feels like this might be the place where you would most likely come int...o contact with the virus. We want to create as much opportunity for our participants to stay as safe as possible. Glady and Co are partnering with Milk and Wine Cafe in Heathmont to provide meals for people through their NDIS plans! We have a limited menu at the moment but we will be able to improve this over time with your feedback. Milk and Wine are a local cafe that were set to open just as the virus caused it's havoc. They have been supporting the community through 'pay it forward' meals and we would like to help keep them going while also supporting our participants to eat well. 09.01.2022 Hi all, Unfortunately Victoria has experienced a difficult set back with Covid-19 and as such Glady and Co are not able to open our Hubs for at least 6 weeks. I appreciate that this is going to be a really difficult time for everyone and we are still making all effort to support all of our participants in a way that is meaningful and practical.... Our online groups will continue, but these will be facilitated from our workers homes. Our packages will also continue and we will be looking for ways to improve these with more options available. Glady and Co are continuing to provide direct support but will need to ensure that both staff and participants are as safe as possible and therefore there may be some changes to what you normally experience but please know that we have your safety as the top priority as always. Glady and Co have begun their online group program and aside from a few glitches, everything has been going really well. So well that we are looking at continuing online groups after things return to 'normal'! I think it will be nice to have a space for people to join in something social when they are not feeling up to getting out and about.
