22.01.2022 What a Monday. Second visa grant of the day. This I have to say is Gods mercy. This client came to us on a Friday and her visa was expiring on the Saturday. It was late, it was uncertain and a lot more complications. Come Saturday, visa wasnt in because of system failure. Yes, that was most stressful and all. 20.01.2022 Wowwwwww, if only I had recorded my client when I shared the news!! Makes it really worth while for us. All our grants are all special, but lets just say this one,we had to fight a few fires for this client. She rang when she was stranded, when it was messy and she just could not do it anymore. We took over and started with emails/submissions to Vic government to clear off some things and here we are today. At the same time, she was on the verge of getting her contract with... work terminated and this has happened to a lot of social workers who came from South Africa and Zimbabwe via Victoria Health 482 program. Some have gone back home, some are stranded but here we are celebrating permanent residence with this client. Congratulations Ms M. We are super happy for you. 19.01.2022 Usually we would be excited to post but this post is very different. We did not know whether to share or not but then I asked myself, how can we not glorify!!! To say we are celebrating is not quite the truth. What has come to me individually after these visa grants and travel exemptions and that I wish to share, comes from Jeremiah 29 v 11."For I know the plans I have for you... says the Lord " .And sometimes these plans and what life throws at us does not make se...nse at all. What I do know though is that, he will never fail us and he indeed has a great plan for each and every one of us. We may not understand it at the time, we may never understand it, we may even be angry, but my testimony is that no matter how much it hurts, no matter how much it does not make sense, trust him. I say this as someone who has lost a beloved one three years ago and had/still have a lot of questions. However what I have found comfort in, is seeing his glory every day and with that my faith continues to grow. With these visa grants, being granted under the current circumstances with covid and travel restrictions and having conversed with other colleagues, who are in similar situations with their clients and not have visa grants for their clients, all I can do is to stand up and glorify and say thank you and say I trust you. Thank you for making me figure out my passion which has led me right into my purpose. I find it fitting to leave you with these words from the late Chadwick Boseman, When you are deciding on the next steps, next jobs, next careers, further education, you should rather find purpose than a job or a career. Purpose crosses disciplines. He also says the struggles along the way are only meant to shape you for your purpose. May your soul rest in peace my dear. Till we meet again. 18.01.2022 Wowwwww. This is special to us. Grateful!! First offshore grant since covid took over. Two previous refusals for this beautiful lady. Her husband then came to us after he heard of us and we took on the challenge. And here we are today. What a way to end the week. After a three day long family law hearing in the Federal Circuit Court that commenced on Monday and was finalised yesterday and now waking up to this beauty Wouldn't be more grateful and thankful to God. 15.01.2022 Mid week reflection What a week already!! Grateful to the man above for being alive and good health. Trying to adjust to these new settings. Slowly getting there and getting used to this new way of life. Change is always hard but in times like these, is when you really have to dig deep and make a choice to either seat it out and miss the boat or adjust your settings and get in the boat. Not always easy, but you have to do what you can. We had our first family law hearing via... Microsoft teams last week. It didn't go very well with technology and it was frustrating. Hated every moment of it. Talk about the disruptions!!!. This week however, I changed my mindset and we had a successful family law hearing on Wednesday/today via Microsoft teams. It worked. It took resetting and adjusting the mindset and getting in the boat for it to be successful. It wasn't that hard after all and a very good result for our client who managed to get sole parental responsibility(SPR). SPR is not always the easiest and sometimes not in the best interest of the child, however there are cases where it's completely justifiable and is in the best interest of the child especially in cases where one party is completely disinterested and has not made an effort and come up with meaningless excuses. There is never an excuse when it comes to child/children issues. A child/ren should never be used as an object to *fix* the other parent. Never. Especially when there are interim or final orders in place for both parents to spend time with the child/ren and one party chooses not to comply. 12.01.2022 What a Monday. First thing this morning was a 190 visa grant for this Chef and her family coming all the way from Zimbabwe. To say that we are excited and happy for Ms G is an understatement. This client of ours contacted us in 2017 when we had just commenced HCM LEGAL. When this havoc with the covid 19 started, there was a little moment of panic, just a little and I quickly had to remind myself that I wasnt in control, never been in control, but he was in control. 06.01.2022 What a way to end the week. We had a five day hearing in the family law court in MacKay. We managed to finalise it on day four after four long days of cross examination. Check out the difference- after court photo and evening photo Thursday 12/03!!! The stress . Heading back to Brisbane tomorrow. Also got one visa grant grant on Monday and a visa invite for one of our special clients on Tuesday. We had matters in the Magistrates Court and QCAT this week and once again..., my team stepped up when I was out of town. Special shout out to our very own Mr Henry Pote and counsel Mr Jack Kennedy for stepping up on our behalf this week in Brisbane and of course our lovely Ms Tanya M. As I reflect on this Thursday evening, we are grateful to the man above for watching over us, for the blessings, for good health and a lot more things. We are very thankful for this gift of life. I pray that each and every one of you can find purpose and fulfil what it is you are meant to accomplish in this lifetime and that, it is rewarding. 05.01.2022 EDITED What the travel ban means and Friday reflective post!! What a few days!!! And this is just the beginning so they say. This virus has caused soo much chaos and it just shows how things can turn around within a short space of time in life. ... What we know about this ban is that it's temporary, it's only a measure that all governments around the world are putting in place. A lot of families have been affected by this but remember life has to go on. This too will come to pass. My word of encouragement is that don't stop. Continue to prepare yourself, your paperwork, and do what you have to do. We keep marching until we get there. To my current clients, we march forward and continue with what we are currently working on because remember, it's a process so we have to do what we can do in this climate. To new clients and those thinking about migration, pick up the phone and contact us or email us. Nothing changes. We are there to help you and support you through your matters. We are with you in prayers and please stay safe. UPDATE: Awaiting official update - Prime Ministers office have just confirmed with airline body that visa holders with the right to work in Australia (ie 482/457 visas) will also be exempt from the travel ban. Phew. Will update once it's official. Fingers crossed. Will update soon so not getting excited yet but this brings hope to those currently stuck overseas. Update:- Adjustment to travel restrictions for temporary visa holders who have already established a presence in Australia may be considered, most likely on a case by case basis. Those granted pr offshore are still permitted to enter Australia even where they have not previously been to this country Visa processing for GSM in particular will continue within the constraints of the situation.
