21.01.2022 How often should I do mobility and/or prehab? You should aim to do mobility work at least 2-3 times a week for the average joe. However if you’re training quite frequently, plan in mobility before your workouts. For example, before training overhead press, you’ll need to make sure you have good shoulder flexion and abduction so you can get the full range of the press. Most gyms will have a broomstick handle that you can use to get that extra range. With prehab, you should r...ealistically be doing exercises before you’re in pain. If you’ve had an injury before, you’ll know the pain of going through rehab - but rehab doesn't end once an injury is healed. You will need to continue doing your exercises to prevent that injury from reoccuring. You can use a whole workout as a prehab - it just depends on what your issue is or what your body is telling you. If you’re finding it hard to put your shirt on because you’re getting pain in your shoulder that’s more than enough reason to start doing prehab to prevent it from a) getting worse and b) reduce the pain/discomfort. 07.01.2022 Are you getting some pain in your joints? Here are a few tips to tell if your pain may be tendonitis. Tendonitis is usually caused by either trauma or an overuse/repetitive movement. The pain will be very local and on touch it will be sensitive and sore. With an example of a quick test you can do to tell is load the tendon with some resistance for about 1 minute. Example with patella or knee tendonitis a simple body weight squat test can be done, squatting down and holding th...at position for a little and then see if that pain stays around or if it changes into a more aching pain or if it eases over time. If the pain hangs around and is still very local to the tendon then it is a clear sign there may be some inflammation to the tendon. This can be done throughout most tendons with different tests.
